If by realism you mean better or equal physics and real tracks why wouldn't people want that? People complain about the lack of tracks in LFS all the time - I'm sure some people would pay for that feature alone.
Not many people are playing iRacing right now, true, because it hasn't been released yet. We have no idea how small or large the community will be.
Third, have you played iRacing? How can you say other sims are "better" without having first tried iRacing?
Mine are 20.1" HP LP2065 before they did the bait and switch. They're good enough for me - I just use them for software dev. hmmm... I happen to have a nice 19" trinitron monitor here I'll sell you for $1000+shipping lol.
I'm no computer graphics expert, but I don't agree with that.
The videos are side by side. One displays vibrant graphics - the other, a real video, shows brownish colors. The display is obviously capable of rendering those colors otherwise the real video would show up oversaturated as well, right?
I think this is also a case of the poor quality of the onboard camera. All of my onboard videos taken with a bullet camera look much darker and less vibrant than the real world.
I think we take security for granted. To do something as elaborate as this would require major effort, but some of these facilities which may appear very secure on the outside are actually a joke if you really had intentions of doing damage.
I made up my mind about religion the first time my religious instructor insisted I was a sinner. I couldn't have possibly been a better kid growing up. I'm proud I was able to make up my own mind at such a young age.
Many years later when I was in high school it became obvious that I made the right choice. I entered a basketball tournament with a friend of mine (who's family is really religious). I thought it was just a normal mini-camp, but it turned out to be some religious camp that he kind of tricked my friends and I into joining. Two things stick out in my mind from that camp (but there were several other things that made me angry).
1) At one point I was forced to have a 1 on 1 talk with some religious guy. He asked me what my plans were after high school. Naturally I told him I was accepted to some college, blah blah blah. Then he basically stated I was making a mistake and should join his religious group instead. He spent several minutes trying to convince me but being the nice friendly atheist I am, instead of punching his face in I listened to his BS and left quietly.
2) One of the preachers there was ranting on and on for 30 minutes about how money was the root of all evil. When he got to the climax of his speech the money basket landed in my lap...
I'm never going to subject my kids to any of that. I will teach them about the various religions myself and they can choose to believe in whatever they want.
You're right, I have no idea where my gears are. I thought 1st gear was reverse OMG!!11!!11. I always wondered why I would have to drive the car backwards whenever I engaged first gear. I will take your advice and turn in my license. Thanks!
You guys seem to be concentrating on the twin towers. Did WTC 7 have the same design as the twin towers? It's no where near as massive yet it still fell the same way.
I see this is a sensitive topic for you DWB I'm the one living in NY... my father stayed home from work that day or he might have been one of the victims!
Anyway, I think it's important to have an open mind about stuff like this, whether you agree with it or not
You guys might be right. I always thought first gear had some sort of safety lock which is why it's only easily engaged when rev matching but now I'm not so sure
This is probably a pretty awful idea since it requires some sort of FFB shifter and it will annoy the hell out of everyone. That's why I'm suggesting it!
Most modern road cars won't allow you to downshift to first while moving unless you rev match. In LFS you can downshift to 1st at any time. This might be a neat feature to have if autox becomes more popular (where downshifts into first gear are really common).
It's a presentation done by an architect named Richard Gage. The beginning of the video focuses on the collapse of WTC building 7. I actually watched the whole thing (it's over an hour long) and thought it was pretty interesting. I'm curious what you guys think of it since this is a global community.
