Having a pet is just basically saying 'I have tried to find love within my own species...'
I don't know how long I could be a vet before I got bored and started shagging stuff...I'd shag an owl, because whatever position you took it from, you could always get eye contact.
My opinion on user-made tracks is this: A better autox editor and area is as far as it should go. Autox is motorsport, and a big part of LFS. Things such as kerbs should be implemented into an autox editor at some point. If something improves both racing and cruising, good, as long as it doesn't help just cruising...people might be a good idea, they can do pitstops and be pedestrians!
I hate setups, I really do...for instance, I've been along to 2 Kyoto 250 practices. In the first race, I qualified last iirc, and finished pretty low down. I was then given a set, and in the last race, I qualified 6th and finished 6th! As soon as I recieved that set, my laptimes were faster by two thirds of a second. There are some slow people out there who are doing well because of a good set, and fast people who are doing badly because of a slow one. I know setting up your car is a major part of motorsport, but you have so many options on road cars, ones that you can take to real extremes...
IMO, setups in LFS need to be a lot more limited than they are now. It would produce closer racing, I'm sure!
I would say stop jumping on the 'I hate Rfactor' bandwagon, but then I might be accused of jumping on the 'stop jumping on the bandwagon' bandwagon, or the stop going off-topic bandwagon!
Uh-oh, I better stop jumping on the 'stop jumping on the 'stop jumping on the bandwagon' bandwagon' bandwagon.
What? Anyway, get back on topic before the thread gets locked! I downloaded rfactor demo a couple of months ago, and had no problems. I've uninstalled it since then, so I don't know about any updates having problems or however it works...the problem is either you or Rfactor. Wait, that's not much help!
TL;DR There is nothing wrong with cruising in LFS, it's just another way of playing the game. It is (SOME!) cruiser's attitudes that are the problem, and nothing should be developed just for cruising as it is not a motorsport, and LFS is a motorsport sim.
+1, I cruise sometimes, and enjoy it (*GASP*) but no time should be spent by the devs on anything specifically for cruisers.
Are there any cops + robbers servers still running? They were great fun, much better than cruise servers IMO.
There is a lot of snow in the road, but you never know, the bus might get through...please, pray that it doesn't!
Actually, disregard that...I've had another look out the window, and I don't want to be too optomistic, but I'm not going to school!! There is a lot of snow, around a foot deep without drifting! A foot without drifting! Not as good as the last snowfall, but still alot!
Although I wouldn't mind a bit more snow, just to make sure...could you chuck some over to Wensleydale, 5haz?
EDIT: It's perfect snow as well...incredibly sticky - you don't have to put any pressure on it to make a snowball, and actually not that cold - I've just been out in my dressing gown + slippers and made a few snowballs. It was cold, yes, but quite a pleasant cold! I didn't feel the need to warm up my bare hands at any point. Ya lucky sod, Tim!
Thursday is supposed to be the snowiest day this week, btw. (Average over England.) The weather forecast says that it should have started snowing an hour ago here, continuing 'till 9am - COME ON!! SNOOOWW!
God I hate Bernie...the way he does things is just so careless and unnecessary...he always insults more people than he needs to, worse than he needs to and people that he shouldn't insult!

Day off school!
Sledging!
Got rid of old computer, I've got loads of space on my desk, and now have some speakers to plug into my laptop. When I first got the comp, it had <100 mb of RAM, a 3GB hard drive and only a floppy disk drive, no cd!
Found a bag of Minstrels! :yummy:

Very, very cold!
Destroyed left knee+ankles sledging.
Thought I had earned CTRA bronze license, still 2 points away! I swear I only had 8 points left when I earned 9...
Homework.
Obviously I'm glad school is shut, but I have to agree...there wasn't that much snow on the roads, the bus would probably have been able to get through, if a little late. Nanny state, anyone?
Though I can't help thinking, Bob...you a bit bitter?
Phew, just got back from sledging! I'm pretty sure I have the best sledging hill - it's really steep and pretty long, which makes it very dangerous... No major injuries (the worst two...I fell off sideways and caught my knee in a rabbit hole or something, sending me flying and almost breaking my leg! I recovered from that and tried what looked like quite a big jump, but it was more like a wall - a large rock, in fact. It probably looked quite funny, I hit it with my feet first, my sledge stopped dead, and I sort of stood upright then went flying forwards!)
Surprising really, as there was very little snow, none at all in places, making for a very bumpy ride. Last year, when there was lots of snow, someone broke their neck! They had a soft landing, but were going so fast...They were alright though, don't worry!
The gimmick probably wears off quite quickly, but that's still pretty sweet, even if your school never closes! I live quite a long way fro my school, and the bus that takes me there through narrow, very hilly countryside roads is rather large (erm...either 52 or 72 seats), so it doesn't take much snow for me to be cut off from school!
Same - I drive with no AA, low-res/detail everything, 'just wheels' view, no shadows, 16 bit 1280 x 800 screen and no sky. I then turn all background stuff off, and start LFS. In CTRA, I get 20-30 fps without cars close to me!
But fps doesn't matter when pausing the game - surely you could turn up the settings for taking screenshots?
No school! Sledging! Yaaaaaay! There's only about 3cm here too, and a lot of cars are getting through, but no bus! And, as I'm writing this, snow has begun to fall extremely heavily.
Lol @ vid - that must be severely icy, or they really are dim Though I suppose it's the start-stopness of the city causing the catastrophic failage...
Slightly boring in places, but still a great race! I usually had at least one car to worry about, and a few good battles. Poor old Agarash, though...I don't know what happened, but on the final straight (after turn 3) on the last lap (!) he crashed with another car a little way in front of me, meaning I took the place!
Still...6TH BABY! YEAH! Never thought I'd be so happy about 6th in a practice race! Thanks to...erm...was it Ken? Or Tea? for the set, via G!nho...I edited it a bit, so it isn't completely yours. I had a car behind me, slowly catching up for the last 30 or so laps, which was a bit stressful. Possibly even more stressful, though, was Billy Mays shouting in my head for the last 10 laps...why, I don't know. I'm pretty sure I've forgotten a lot of things, but who cares? 6TH BABY!
But anyway, thank you chaps and chapesses for a bally good race...simply stonking! (Well...okay, mabye it wasn't that good :razz And thank you Clockwork Motorsports! This ain't just a shameless plug (just mostly :razz, without them I wouldn't have got anywhere near where I was, I probably wouldn't have signed up!
EDIT: Damn you amp, beaten! Taking a video won't lower your fps massively, there would still be a lot, and we would take that into account. You can't see other people's fps on a server!
