Sorry guys,

our ISP thought yesterday: "Hmm, we cut the whole line" So we had no TV, no phone, no internet. We are very sorry. We will provide some videos soon about the season and that last race.

Quote from GP4Flo :Nice one. Too bad, that there is no note at all on the www.kicker.de page about esports. At least I couldn't find anything about it.

There is, if you hit the "games" button on top, then a menu pops up with the link to eSport.

Shaun, as I told you in messenger some week ago already about the same topic: You've been away and you look for your old habits and buddies. But those guys who were once there changed... Some of them quitted, others are only in leagueracing or so, as doing public for 4 years would be pretty much sad basically. As it would prove that LFS goes on, but you havent.

There are simple things which really prove you wrong: The online user numbers, the growing number of leagues and the growing numbers of posts/day in this forum here (and almost every local forum too).
LFS grows, and if you feel left behind, it's up to you, to catch the train. It's not the trains fault, if you hit the station too late
If you are as a hardcore simmer as you say you are, get back to league racing as you once did. OLFSL is still there e.g. and it's cool. Or go ctra, etm, stcc or or or. But that would need some commitment from your side. If you are looking for pickup only, then go to the ctra or cone dodgers (e.g.) and you'll actually find pretty good and watched pickup races. The drivers there are not the ones you raced with though (most of the time), as I explained you earlier on, they evolved.

LFS is on the right way. A slow one, but the right one! Stay here, and just keep racing (and dont interupt it again for a year or two, you bloody danicing bastard :P ).

Cheers

Quote from Mako. :
also, if I install S2 to the second comp that I OWN, will I need to get another license to play online with it? I think not as long as my other one is not logged into LFS, but can someone clear this up?

That is exactly like you described it: You can play with the same account on two PCs in a local network (LAN party e.g.), BUT you can only play online with one of those PCs at the same time.

Quote from tristancliffe :I managed to get a slipping FBM clutch to cool down whilst racing by only using 70% max throttle. Okay, I was 5 seconds a lap slower than usual, but it did eventually cool.

Having never had a hot, slipping clutch in real life, either in cars, bikes, trackdays, single seaters etc I still feel that something isn't right in that regard. But it does make races more... variable... just not very realistically.

The typical question would be: Do you shift IRL on trackdays like you do in LFS? Prolly with not lifting the throttle? As if you lift throttle correctly, it works fine, and there is basically no heat.

Quote from Scawen :
Handicaps have now been removed as the cars should be more naturally balanced now.

As long as this is a testpatch, isnt it possible to keep the weight balances for actual X/X10/X12 servers going? You are just messing up a lot, with removing it completely on all servers...

About clutches: Overheated, then switch of your car, and wait in pits, until it has cooled down. works. Needs time (quite real ).

Quote from ste_ :What about "Engines are no longer repaired in pit stops" -- that's got to be another thing that could hurt endurance racing?

You saw latest Top Gear? Go watch it again, then you might get the point...

"To finish first, you first have to finish." Dont destroy your engine, or do Shift-P then in the race, which will give you in a proper endurance league some good penalty (by far less than an engine exchange would take IRL).

Quote from Shotglass :how exactly is that the least bit offensive?
its just that this patch is more of a test than the usual ones and the number of bug report and balance threads alone shows that quite clearly

sry, if I sounded harsh. This patch includes new stuff in a lot of different parts in LFS, including a new car (tires, clutches, AI, new track, updated tracks and a lot of small options). It is by far one of the most complex patches in LFS, therefor no wonder about bugs here and there. And that's also the reason for the public testpatch.

Quote from Bean0 :I was under the impression that the balancing we had in patch X was temporary until it could be fixed in the next physics incompatible patch, making the cars we race online and those used for hotlapping the same again.

If it is more unbalanced now than before, have the beta testers been doing their job properly ?

Just rethink again, before you post such personal offending BS again. thx.

Quote from geeman1 :Has the shift light been changed to show the rev limiter/redline instead of the ideal shift point it showed in previous versions?

No, but the redline changed and the theoretical best shiftpoint isnt reached in most of the cars anymore

Quote from N I K I :I just want to say that finally HL times and online times (quali laps) are going to be same, i can come back for FZR hotlaps

I actually do think, that in patch Y penalty weights online will be reintroduced, as the GTR class is more unbalanced than b4 the patch with penalties...

Edit: Besides that, There might be a reason, why the leagues driving on oval have very restrictive and close technical rules... So far I dont know a real Oval league, running a flat six na, a flat 4 turbo and an inline 4 turbo at the same level.

Stop bashing, yankman only said, the actual balances does not work on the oval so far. And that is a valid argument.

My feelings still are: FZR is fastest, XRR got closer, but not close enough and FXR is far behind.

So far the gearbox just helped the XRR getting a bit closer to FZR (without all the weights) but it's still a lot faster. And the typical user wont feel a huge difference, as he just have to look for clutch heat, lift the throttle through shifting, and all is good.
