We are right now putting up a shoutcast server, so there will be voicecast if all goes well.
And besides that WolleT finished fixing LFS TV. So we will stream that race with LFS TV too.
We at eSport-Racing have a simple goal: Provide racers the best competition they can get, bring them to a bigger crowd, and give them prizes. At the same time the upcoming leagues-system shall provide everyone the challenge he can manage: Race the rest, beat the best!
And now the first race is up on the horizon: Thursday this week, the best racers in LFS, the fastest names you can imagine will start in the first international eSport Touringcar Masters. The rules are close to the well known DTM which will definitely provide some nice action. The drivers are seperated into teams of 2 drivers each, and besides a drivers championship, there is for sure also a Teamchampionship at hand. Prizes at stake are some nintendo Wiis, some nice voyage and some little monkey told me, that there might be prizemoney too
Get ready for LIVE coverage at the site, some really hot racing action and some races for you too!
In the part about Racing, you say the races will be timed. But what about the 1000kms races? Also starttime of those races should be written in the rules.
online you have additional weights on several cars (xrt, fxo, fzr, xrr). So do not wonder if you are faster offline then. Besides that, the rest is imagination.
if you felt lost on track Darin, then I have to put that on some lack of preparation. Every other team uses in MoE Teamspeak for communication, there are always people telling the drivers what's going on, Using tools like the RaceSpec and the official Moe-tracker. Due to the fact, that when you are flipped, your endurance experienced would have been over IRL too, you should call yourself happy, to be able to continue the race Why should a sim provide then some help in positions actually? The thirdparty tools do that enough, and as I said again: You and/or the team you drove in was then not well enough prepared. I'm actually frightened that you will put a little wrong view on this subject, as the race showed for all the well prepared teams, that it was close, that infos were where they belong and every team had it's helping teamleaders/pit-talkers at hand.
Actually that's more real than any computervoice telling me to pit next lap....
e.g.: We recalculated our last two stints and that put us very close to third place, put some pressure on cyber, they did the mistake and we finally could ensure a podium, after being in the race for first place till hour 5 or so and then dropping back due to own mistakes and bad luck.
Wow, what a race! A lot of heavy work by the admins, great job!
Congrats to Merc and pm. Great consistent stuff! I think, the two GTR cars FZR and FXR are pretty much even now, if I take the unlucky stuff that happened to us into account Still, I'm looking into a great season 3 coming, and I guess, as usual, I will be most of the time in my teams teamspeak, helping the guys, informing, motivating them. It's a lot of fun!
So this was definitely a great season opener, with a thrilling fight with cyber in the end. Great stuff!
he also said, that most important impressions like speedfeeling due to eyeview / field of view etc. and G-force are just missing, and therefor it's not realistic. Besides the fact he hadnt really a go at it. Timo Glock e.g. tells that it's pretty close to the real thing, and he tested LFS at least for about 100 laps on as nat in bf1. And he knows the real counterpart pretty well too
