This would be much shorter and more useful than a list of global improvement suggestions. It would serve as a record of what kinds of suggestions the devs have actually found useful or merely agreed with but used. Hopefully this would cut down on some of the vain ambition spoken of in garph's thread.
"Suggestions" for new cars or types of cars (or vehicles in general, for that matter). For divers reasons--they are an exercise in futility!
"I think this car should be in LFS!" Odds are no one will disagree--anyone of sound mind wants as many cars as possible!
These threads all turn into "yeah that car would be great but these are the cars i would like: &c." and following arguments over which car is better and why.
I often find it frustrating, trying to get a couple dozen people to vote for restart almost simultaneously. Wouldn't it be a lot nicer if one vote lasted at least, say, five times as long? Or how about till you say otherwise or leave the server?
I think a little vote window/box with check marks next to each racer name letting people know the status of a vote in progress would be nice, but possibly impractical compared to a quick-fix.
Another suggestion: the ability to vote NO. It would be nice to know if people are just AFK or actually oppose the motion--especially w/r/t kicks/bans.
well, it doesn't have to be tires. the black flag sort of option does sound ideal in a lot of situations... nevertheless I'm sure something simpler could be done without ruining the look (if that really is so important).
Well, some people are biased against that sort of thing and it would be a stigma which would turn them away from LFS. Of course, while the opposite at the same time is true, that's a bold statement.
You generally wanna shift the moment more power becomes available in the next gear--even a fraction of a second after that as speed will drop during the gear change (your reaction time to the shift light is usually more than enough).
The light happens to come on when more power is available in the next gear. Kinda cheating, eh? It has been suggested that we get a realistic (adjustable) one in replacement.
