Thats just nasty anyway, but aswell therfor we don`t want you to be able to step out of the car.

I wasn't talking to you...

I've read that the spinning internals of a motorbike's engine will help keep it upright at low speeds, so keeping the revs up and slipping the clutch (with rear brake if needed) is how to go about creeping.

As for bicycles, trackstanding is not difficult--especially with a fixie.

Umm... you're not related to this guy by any chance, are you?

Well, here's my simple suggestion: they change it from "RA / RAC" to "RaceAbout 2002 / RAC". The BMW has a date; the MRT does too, in a way.

Hell, how about giving the made up cars made up (or not made up!) model years?

Mudflaps are just bad aero/hydro and extra weight and do nothing useful in an offroad rally setting. They may be able to keep the exterior "pretty" (sponsors happy?) and maybe save a spectator's eye under a few circumstances on pavement, but...

I'm against flaps in real life (especially flexible ones!) in a racing context, so I'm obviously going to be against them in LFS...

Quote from Gunn :Not like the gloss of car paint (unless it has been coated with some sort of gloss).

That's what I said; it's usually (there are of course exceptions) coated to match the rest of the car's gloss.

It's rare that you can actually feel the texture of the weave--and I imagine it's more vulnerable to sun damage that way.

Doesn't CF usually have a full-gloss finish, anyway? either way, the problem with CF is really the hologram effect... I digress, this feature would be impossible to implement as long as LFS uses jpegs for skins.

5 litres is small? edit: even weirder, I just noticed I'm an "American" saying that to someone with a mini cooper in his avatar...

Well, my sentiment remains, any new car will be great; new car threads are just public daydreaming... as for the option to switch engines around...

I think some brands look better on certain cars, but why not. Not really a big deal IMO...

Quote from tristancliffe :Nasty head injury. Made you write 'would of' instead of 'would have'.

I saw you write "effect" (as in gender) instead of "affect" a couple days ago--yet I held my peace.

Quote from Bob Smith :It's useful info for hosters, mainly when first setting up a server, but I admit it's not particularly interesting to casual racers.

Right, and until now, it was an explanation as to why a vote was cancelled (or why you couldn't exit the pits). Wait, can you now exit the pits while someone's connecting?

Either way, is too much information really a problem?

Quote from VTiRoj :Twas possible in S1. Wonder why it was removed?

Oh, yeah. I can't believe I forgot about that. (It's been a while!)

Well now, cars are skinnable anyway, and you can still change their colors. I just happen to be anti-skin--for fidelity reasons (I can't abide anything lower than 2048²), and I don't like white! Actually, I usually use black in an effort to hide the crappy "plain" skins with their fake shadowry.

The ability to adjust the color of helmets and roll cages (without using skins, of course) just as you can with car exteriors.

Quote from mcintyrej :With a BTCC style paintjob, that car would look pucker!

Though, I don't think it will be making a quick return, somehow.

BTCC wings are useless "decoration," too. Foul looking, at that.

I agree with Tristan--eventually, naturally.

Nevertheless, not a bad suggestion.

Pit lane speed limit bug
wark

Sorry if this has been found and mentioned before, but:

If you start a practice or qual (i.e. from pits) and get on the gas right away in a faster car, with the limiter off, you can break the speed limit with no penalty--even upon reentering the pit lane--the speed limit is effectively removed for the remainder of the session.

I've been able to reproduce this in the last few versions, on any track, but it only happens if you accelerate past the speed limit in the first couple seconds of play (most of the cars aren't even fast enough).

This only works in practice/qual.

These replies should be insightful. I will add one more thing: watch some of the world's fastest hotlap replays (found on lfsworld.net -> S2 hotlaps -> hotlap charts) and tell me if those cars look like they are on ice.
