I've been skating occasionally for about 8 years. Used to skate all over Hollywood with my friends. Never even bothered jumping over crap, really... biggest thing I ever did was ol'e up a curb.
Best thing I ever did was not eat it trying.
Now it's just an alternate mode of secondary transportation when a bicycle is too big (I drive a Mini).
It has more to do with the thickness of the disc than material. It's just that those who need light (thin) brakes (that would be prone to glow) are intrinsically in the market for carbon/ceramic brakes.
But, yeah... I've seen (videos and pictures and forum posts) from plenty of people taking their stock cars (Audi TTs) out and making the brakes glow.
With a lot of redundant parts and extra weight and tranny friction and no scavenging and, and... four single cylinder engines are probably just going to be four times as rough, too, instead of much smoother.
If you spent a lot of money, maybe it could be done well, if impractically, but this is just...
There are plenty of drivers (auto autodidacts ), but it's safe to say the vast majority are only trying to get from point A to point B and couldn't care less about technique. All you need to do to pass the test (in CA) is look around you like someone with ADD (intrinsically dangerous). Don't even need to go on the freeway...
Videos like that make me laugh. My first instinct in those cars would be more like steering the front wheels in the right direction (not beyond) and giving it a little gas... and I've never driven on ice!
