AVG and AVAST seem to only have trial versions. What happens at the end of the trial? Do I simply get a reminder that "it would be nice if i bought it" or do I have reinstall it?

I just reinstalled my computer and within a week a virus took me out. I reinstalled again last night but I'd like to get some software on there to stop future problems.

I'm behind a router (which I thought gave quite a bit of protection) but I want to stop viruses and spyware from getting in.

In the past I've used Ad-aware and Spybot and I had Norton antivirus installed but the subscription ran out.

Can anyone recomend some quality FREE products out there to secure my computer? What about software with paid subscriptions?

I recently had a virus take over my computer and decided to reinstall Windows because things were getting cluttered anyway.

I bought a Western Digital 640GB 7200 RPM Sata hard drive to be used in two partitions. 200 gig for operating system, the remaining 440 for storage.

I have an Asus A8V deluxe motherboard. I know it will support this new drive.

How do I install win XP to this drive that is brand new?

I Used to have a nice Canadian flag paint job that I made for my FZR but I lost it somehow. There's a pic of it in my avatar.I've made an example of what I'm looking for but I'm having trouble lining up the paint lines from panel to panel.

For anyone who makes skins this should be an absolute breeze.

The cars I'd like it the most for are the FZR and MRT because I use them 90% of the time. If it's easy enough I'd also like skins for the UF1, UFR, XFR, FBM, and FOX. And if you've got WAY too much time on your hands an FO8 and BF1 skin would be pretty rad.

Don't get me wrong, I think team orders SHOULD be allowed, but the last I heard they were banned in F1. Last night in China Kimi obviously let Massa pass and even admitted to it in interviews after the race.

Did they change the rules again so that team orders are allowed?

There is an online petition related to the punishment handed down to Hamilton. I have no idea if it will do anything but it's a start. For all the times I've been enraged by a bad call and had nowhere to vent with others, I'm glad I found this.

The basic story starts off that a guy wakes up and he's the only person around. the city is empty. slowly he runs into 1 or 2 more people and they seem to be the only people remaining.

eventually we find out that "mad scientists" did some sort of experiment that sent some sort of energy wave across the earth and the only people who remained on the planet (or the copy of the planet in this alternate dimension) were the ones that died at the exact moment this wave happened.

if i remember correctly, one of the survivors was being drowned in a river by someone else.

does ANYONE have ANY clue what the name of this movie is?

How to bury a story

The best way to deal with stories that might prove to be embarrassing is to make sure that the fewest possible number of people get to read them. It is called news management. And the best way to do that is to make sure that the news breaks very late on a Friday, after the Saturday editions of the national newspapers have gone to press. That way by the time the Sunday papers are being prepared there have been other stories, particularly in the sporting world, and thus the impact of the story is lessened and it gets less space in the newspapers.
The outcome of the FIA International Court of Appeal is just such a story. The court has ruled that the appeal was inadmissable. It is not explained why and one has to apply to the FIA for the explanation. This pretty much guarantees that the story will get very little coverage. It has become a convenient non-story..




I'm getting pretty tired of the FIA doing whatever they want to bend the rules to suit their needs. Anyone else?

Nobody in the world can tell you the bore from that picture. It could be the world's largest gear or a nanotechnology gear. Put a tape measure beside it. As I remember from my karting days there was only one bore size anyway.

I never saw more than a 12 tooth drive gear also.

Are you racing on a full throttle track? Even on a really fast track I was able to simply change the driven gear on the axle to get the right ratio.

Yes, I looked up a replay on youtube. it was massa. the north american broadcasters were saying it was kimi and hieki and with all the mist it was difficult to tell.

On the final lap Kimi and Hieki had a beautiful exchange of places, the most exciting 30 seconds of the entire race. The finish line showed Kimi cross the line ahead of Hieki but he was credited with 3rd place. I never read of any penalties or anything else. Can someone explain what happened here?

My wife is having problems with her laptop. My computer runs Norton anti-virus and i have no problems at all. However, i've heard lots of complaints from people about Norton.

These are the only forums I frequent and the community here has never let me down. My wife's laptop has been invaded with spy ware. There are constant pop ups telling us various lies. Every link takes us to the same web page where we can magically solve all our problems if we download their software. Too bad they don't have an address to pick up a hard copy of the software so I could go down there and :chair:

Here's a screen shot I took of the site that is linked to us. I noticed a bunch of extra tool bars that have added themselves as well.

i bought a 600W power supply to replace my 350W supply today. I've been playing warcraft all afternoon and not one crash or lockup. the problem seems to be solved.

Is there a way to know if a computer power supply is not powerful enough? Can the computer tell you internally how much is being drawn or if it is not getting enough?

ok, what led up to my reinstalation was a dying hard drive. i bought a new one, copied the files i wanted (movies, music, pictures, etc.... no programs) then threw out the old hard drive. it was a completely fresh instalation on a freshly formatted hard drive.

does that help? or at least make it less bad?

I recently reinstalled windows and I'm trying to set the mouse wheel 'click' to perform a 'double click' like I have had it for years. I installed microsoft intellipoint like I used before and set the mouse wheel click to be a double click but it doesn't. I'm clicking apply and ok so that's not the problem.

Also, my Logitech cordless keyboard (they came as the Cordless MX Duo package) used to control video players with the built in play/pause and stop buttons. Now they control volume of all things!

Any ideas?
