Quote from Scawen : I wish people would report the problem to the antivirus software developers, instead of us, as the bug is not in LFS but the antivirus software.

The problem is that installation programs with integrated 7z archives often lead to false positive results more frequently than other installation programs. The normal installation programs in the Patch Test Forum could simply be renamed from .exe to .7z and then unpacked with any packer and manually synchronized. This did not work with E13. Why don't you just give up on 7z? I think that most of the false positive reports are related to 7z. I couldn't even install 7z without taking a detour through Universal Extractor.

I installed now Universal Extractor and the extracted folder i used for sync with my lfs folder via beyound compare. maybe i should also use the 7z software.

The "LFS_PATCH_7A_TO_7E13_setup.exe" was blocked by my AV F-Secure. Usually, I rename these file extensions from exe to 7z. But with this file, I couldn't use the 7z archive for the update because it obviously isn't one, so I can't install E13 because the exe is being blocked.

I use F-Secure, and E12 was not detected as a false positive. I know this information isn't very helpful.

Can you tell us which antivirus software you are using?
The key binding for operating the turn signals should be user-defined.
matze54564

The turn signals can only be operated with the keys 7; 8; 9; 0. This is very inconvenient to use, and I therefore never use them. On Cruise servers, however, the turn signals are needed, and I would like to be able to set the keys for them myself. The same applies to other keys that cannot be changed. And in the new LFS for Light on and windshield wipers.

The car lacks Traction Control (TC) and that's likely the main reason why the AIs struggle to drive it well.

Quote from loopingz :did not reset

In my games, the 'Allow car reset' option is not allowed. I believe it is unnecessary.

It seems that the standard setup for the BF1-AIs is better. With my personal setup, where TC is also turned off, they take three seconds longer for AS Historic than with the standard setup that is loaded when "Misc> AI use player setup" is turned off. I geuess they have problems to drive without TC and ABS, because they are not sensitive enough.

Quote from Avraham Vandezwin :I'm way too fast for the AI

The BF1 AIs are really fast in the Pro Mode. Fast enough for me. But i drive not much at time, maybe when i have more training i will be faster than the First Position AI..... I start always in the last position. And using the slipstream for taking over means not that i am fasterSmile.

Quote from Viperakecske :multiplayer is the thing everyone plays not singleplayer

I play Single Player with AIs. I drive the BF1 with 4 AIs. The AIs sometimes crashed before the update and they also crash after the update. I have smooth graphics in single player with a FreeSync Monitor. This doesn't work in Multiplayer. The players in multiplayer have very high skills. I guess to get these skills, you need training in the single player mode. I need training in the single player mode.

Quote from Orhan Umut :windows defender detects new patch as virus

Rename the file extension to 7z and extract it with Beyond Compare or your favorite extractor. The AV think only its a virus because the exe file contains a 7z archive.

For better results use 100 fps. But i have a 144 Hz FreeSync Monitor. Without such a Monitor works it anyway not.
Sleep every frame?
matze54564

What do the option "Sleep every frame"? It have no effect. I guess CHatGPT-4 described me his option wrong.

Quote :LFS (Live for Speed) is a racing simulation game that focuses on realistic driving mechanics and physics. The "Sleep every Frame" option is an advanced setting designed to reduce CPU usage by inserting a brief pause after every rendered frame. These pauses help lower CPU consumption and system temperature, especially on older or less powerful computers.

When the "Sleep every Frame" option is enabled, the game briefly waits after rendering a frame before moving on to the next frame. This delay can help the computer better handle other tasks running simultaneously, such as background applications or multitasking.

However, it is essential to note that enabling "Sleep every Frame" may affect the frame rate or game fluidity, as the game is intentionally slowed down to insert pauses between frames. In some cases, this can result in a less smooth and less responsive gaming experience. If you have a more powerful computer or prioritize frame rate, you may want to keep the "Sleep every Frame" option disabled.

Quote from michal 1279 :Nah, it means that every 16th or 17th frame is used for the rendering instead of every 5th or 6th.

No. By 300 fps are this whole numbers. every 6th for 50 Hz and every 5th for 60 Hz and with 1000 fps are this every 20th for 50 fps and every 16th or 17th for 60 fps.

But 1000 / 60 = 16.6666666666666 and 300 / 60 = 5

This mean, 300 is better than 1000.

300 fps physics Tickrate

300 fps Tickrate allow smooth graphics on all displays. It works with 60 Hz and 50 Hz.

But Freesync make this irrelevant Smile
But Videos are the most time in 60 fps or 50 fps. Lower fps than 50 are irrelevant.

Quote from Gutholz :Maybe pressing(holding) a button gives a longer input than a turn of the mouse wheel?

No. I made it with "Virtual Controller" now and give the release trigger with the joystick button 2. A Mouse Wheel is like a Axis and have no release trigger. With VC can u change a axis in a button, but then works the release not and without release LFS think that the button holding and it works not. If using Iverted Button you need 2 mousewheel raster for one shifting.

Anyway. it have nothing to do with the time of holding, because it works also when i press my release-button (Joystick2) permanent and then use the MouseWheel, the virtual Button will just be pressed very short, extremely short.

In the old LFS works shfting with the Mousewheel and full throttle. https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1891495#post1891495

Edit:I use now again the Joystick Buttons for shifting, because i dont want press always the Release-Botton and it worked sometimes not properly. My old Logitec extreme 3d was broken and my new joystick have not enough buttons, but i use anyway this 2 buttons on top. The Joystick is for me only throttle and brake and watch out. In an other driving simulator i use the mouse wheel for shifting and this 2 buttons need i there for watch out.

Mouse Wheel for gear shifting works not good?
matze54564
S3 licensed
When i use the mouse wheel for shifting, i have to release the throttle or the shifting will be impossible. When i use buttons instead of the mouse wheel, i can shifting with full throttle. Accelerating is very much more effective when shifting with full throttle is possible and the Mouse Wheel is just the best shifter if you dont have a wheel. Is this a bug or a feature?

i was testing the Oculus Rift (bad HMD with extremely bad resolution, but it works) and have to say: The stereoscopic Mirrors are amazing. It run not smooth because of 100 Hz Tickrate, but Head Moving is smooth and for example ETS2 (bad physics) have Mono-Mirrors. Please keep this.

But until the HMDs having Freesync is it maybe not relevant.

A good sim (not a arcade sim) like LFS can maybe not having a Frame-Rate which is not influenced by the tick rate, this works maybe only with arcade like simulators.

Now i know how to run LFS smooth like butter, but this works only offline and not online. It seems online are very much more GPU Power needed. The AMD Vega can only be used with full power with DirectX 12. Euro Truck Simulator run not 100% smooth because the GPU run only half power with DirectX 11. Creating alot of pseudo-Frames for heating the Graphic Card is not the right way and make it de facto not smoother.
