Quote from Glenn67 :The biggest problem we have online, which exasperates the blue flag syndrome, is the disparity between the fastest and slowest drivers and the shortness of pickup races.

I.e. yesterday in v8supercars at Philip Island several drivers were shown the bad sportsmanship flag and one received a drive through penalty for not yielding and they were less than a second off pace (and fighting for position) in a 32 lap race. In LFS we have 5 laps and people that are commonly 5 seconds a lap off pace with little track experience compared to the fastest guys, which is always going to cause controversy.

I’m not the fastest, normally about 1 second off WR pace on car track combos I know, but if I get stuck behind a slower bunch of drivers I will endeavour to have a fair battle with them as best as possible making up whatever ground I can then go on from there in the next race. I never see one five lap race as the be all and end of all races, I look at it as a series of races and try to do well overall. And I know others faster than me that think the same, I look out for them and race them whenever I can , but then there is others that I avoid because of there mindset

I think some take pickup races a little too seriously, need to step back and look at themselves and remember that the person they are abusing on the other end of the net IS NOT a pro racing driver but is most likely a race enthusiast, and due to lack of any real life track time is most likely prone to errors of judgement in the heat of a battle, hey even the Pro’s get it wrong on occasion .

We need to respect each other a bit more at times on the track I feel, although I find the vast majority do and that is what makes LFS such a great community .
Hey if you want to race for sheep stations join a league or set up a private server and invite all the WR pace guys there, but don’t whinge every time someone has a lapse of judgement on a public server in a 5 lap pick up race and better yet don't spam blue flag blue flag let me pass!

very nice post I can only add one fact, some people likes to ignore the blue flag or the text in the middle of the screen showing BLUE FLAG, in that case i need a bind to remind em. If youre fighting on top with others and a backmarker is going around one-armed with a cup of coffee and watching tv as well you really need those binding to make the flag more offical.

If everyone is reading the chat, checking the map, mirrrors & flags, every race could be more then a pleasure and if you do this you show respect to everybody else. But as you said, we all have started once and had to learn all this stuff.

Have you also tried Media Markt or Saturn? Also, in case you have some more money to spend, get a G25, this is from my pov the best wheel you can get atm.

Any Replay available?
Are you sure this was multiplayer and not singleplayer?

Hello and Welcome

When you have played the Demo before, i would say you should stick to blackwood for a while and check out all the cars (go in order, from low to high engine power). Once you have some favorit cars try em at other tracks. Get used to the physical behavior of your vehicle, improve yourself on the track & in the field. Enjoy every race, dont get mad when its not happen like you wish and keep moving forward (Wrong Way sucks, Ghostdrivers gets booted )

And get a Wheel damn it !!

Cheers

Some people try every vehicle/ track/ layout combo in shortest time but i think this is stupid, the surprise effect is gone. You will play this game a long time, at least i thought this way and i was right. Maybe i know the tracks and most of the corners, but there are still some combos/ layouts ive never tried. Right now for example, im not really in the mood to drive the bf1 @ bl rally but im sure that could be fun, for at least 1 lap or so

This Thread reminds me on a situation i had a couple of months ago:

There was a buddy visiting me while i was just in a long run race, so i went to the pits (he had great timing ), opened the door and finished the race while he was watching. He has never seen this game before and said, "damn thats kind of bad graphics". In this moment i thought, damn he is kind of right. What i mean is, i never gave a sh.. on the gfx (which isnt that bad at all anyway) more then that i was to much impressed by the simulation part also there are games out there with great gfx but without any simulation, <place name here> . I gave him some facts about the game and the Devs and told him that: its not a screen shot generator but a competitionless online racing simulator. (so far)

"Well" i said, "go on and do some laps"... He did, and i wasnt able to unplug him from my system for at least 2 hours. illepall

Quote from Bob Smith :Well, from your description it could be a problem or that could be correct. Make sure you have disabled all the extra effects in the Logitech control panel.

Centre spring, spring effect and damper effect should all be at zero.

As i was not able to find a Answer on this from Jankes and just to make sure and point this out, do you actually use these Features? Because as far as i know, LFS do "emulate" this already so theres no need to turn em on in the Software as well. Correct me if im wrong.

yeah, you ever tried to go a lap at any track togehter with someone else (car inside car via this spawn bug) ? Thats a challenge lol, esp when you try to go faster then 5 mph +/- or so (which is already quite fast for this situation )

Quote from Dajmin :Maybe this is an issue that'll get fixed when they add the defined pit slot feature. Because then there'll be no risk of being placed in the same pit as another player.

Where exactly does that happen? Never happend to me so far except when another car is already standing inside my pitbox

I think this depends on the System LFS uses for the Multiplayer (Host/ Client synchronizing and so on), its totally different compared to other Games, as far as i know but i may be wrong with that. Besides that, i dont i dont like it as well, but i also think theres no way to get around it but i have to guess here as well.

Quote from woz : I would have assumed the connecting player gets the game state as its first packet once their client is ready. The fact that players have left should be simple to deal with if not skip a frame or physics cycle or whatever period has to pass before the next jump to pits request could be processed normally. Process the pits/spec request and then everyone is back in sync without the need for the holdup.

ops..ignored that, only read the first few sentences and some post because theres not much time for me right now to chill here

Quote from The Very End :I haved payed for this game, and I usually do, but look at people that uses cracks on games. Not everyone are hackers that only tries to destroy things, many people are just as you and me, but they can`t effort a lisence, or they got a other reason. I know many of those maybe are just ****s, but you canot judge all people the same way, that one use crack is not the same that he is A OMG CRACKER AND HACKER KILL HIM OMFG!!!!!!..
Hes just like you and me.. only want to play, would you really deny him that? And most people here have their lisence the normal way, that some people still choose to do it otherway can`t harm that much..
But that is only my point of veiw, I respect others veiws of things

If everybody would think this way, we would be still stuck in S1 without any prospect to get any further at anytime. If you really want to have the full version then you will find a way to pay for it. Just like thousands+ of people allready did. And btw, its just a matter of time a person with a cracked version gets caught (in case he is able to play online which i dont think is possible) so youre back where you have started. illepall And playing this game only offline is so boring, it has been made to be a multiplayer game primary, LFSW is a indicator for this.

Well close to it, instead of kicking him for bad lag, youre able to see that he is from the other side of the ocean or something like that and then you could ask him, or tell him that he should change the server that is more closer to his country instead of presupposing that he is downloading or simular stuff. That would not only be an advantage for the server but also for him.

Well, id say we "need" equality here, either plates for every OW vehicle or none at all Or maybe another button behind the plate in the options/player menu. draw/ no draw f.E. :P

but maybe you give us a +1 if theres a option to turn it off ok ? I dont care as well where people are from but there are some cases where it could be also important instead of beeing just another information feature.
To figure out why someone is laggy, also if he is not able to speak the mother language or english (in my case for example) you could try to communicate with him way quicker without checking LFSW first.

Just a thought...
