That's all _just_ based on assumptions and unless you ain't got any official numbers from the developers themselves, how can you seriously dare to create such statements?
Actually, I'm done here. This is leading nowhere, unless one of the dev's is making a statement though.
Bearing in mind that Scawen is basically the only person, that is responsible for the programming part, I don't see how anyone could seriously come to a conclusion that's including the idea about an accelerating progress, the further this project is evolving.
Same here, although I've been a demo user for more then a year. From the user perspective, I do understand your disappointment, but from the perspective of a semi experienced programer, I quite frankly don't. Tell me, when was the last time that you have created a complex project like this, which got easier to handle and work with, the further you've progressed? Seriously, going through all the changes that have been made in LFS in the past few years, which can be looked up in each readme file by the way, I'm getting a headache already, only while trying to _imagine_ how difficult it must be, not only to create all this, but to work with it, adding new stuff and fixing or rewriting certain parts of it. Perhaps I'm wrong, and it is infact rather easy to handle though. Always depends on the structure in use I guess. Still, it's complexity suggests that it isn't. Either way, my question to you remains valid.
As much as i do agree with you on the dynamic track conditions, we shall not forget patch Y at this point. Blackwood also was very different back in S1.
A game is there to be played and entertain you for some time, not to fill a gap or replace parts of your life (forever). Some people really don't understand that, when they play a game for a (considerably) long time, that they will get bored eventually. Simple by looking at the informations that we've got available, it should be _clearly_ visible that LFS is different to anything else and thus will be developed, or respectively the speed of development differs drastically from most of the other products that are available. That obviously doesn't mean that this product is worth less, but quite the opposite indeed.
Best examples are EA games, where games are getting developed by a huge crowd of people in a rush, with the ultimate goal to sell as much copies as possible. Right after that, this cycle gets "restarted" and soon after that, you will have to pay another 40+ bugs. Soon ripe, soon rotten, if you will.
Now that's a bit contradicting right here. As a huge fan of LFS, you're seeking for something to replace LFS for you completely? Really, I do get it, you're bored, pissed off and whatever, but seriously, take a few more steps back and try and get a grasp for what LFS really is.
It's not that I've never been on a cruise server though, but from this perspective or the point of view that you've choosen, is not really spectacular, mind-blowing or anything. But since the focus was on "update your GAMEROOM", it doesn't really matter anyway, does it?
Besides all that, i found it a bit cheeky using another account in order to have another view avaiable though. But yeah, It's "just" a cruise server, nothing is a stake really and admins will most likely kick that account if really necessary.
Was thinking about getting a copy of it but, after watching a bunch of videos on yt, I'm not sure anymore. AI seems to be rather stupid occasionally though, which is killing the fun, sort of though, vehicles seem to be feeling like "doom on weed" but besides those downsides, the sound seems to be pretty nice and the map itself is awesomely huge, making it posssible for some good old fashion coop action yo.
Anyhow, I'm tempted, but i guess I'm going to wait until this game is going to get a lot cheaper yo ;D
No. Instead of braking before a corner with an constant value (say 30-60% brake), one should be faster using a more dynamic range. Say, brake hard once and right after that, try and apply just enough so you've got the perfect speed for the turn. Takes a bit of practice and happens within a few seconds of course but I figured that I can be a lot quicker that way. Also works with the throttle of course. Some kind of "pedal steering" if you want.
It says 0.5Z17 in the replay header (if that how it's called) and while using Z18, i'm able to watch it.
Regarding your question, the setup seems to be a little loose. Also, you're a bit too smooth on the steering wheel, making it harder to catch that beast again . Also, you could try and make more use of the pedals, especially the brake pedal though. "Flickering" is the word that I do prefer in this case though I'm not sure if there actually is a name for this technique. It can make you go a lot faster under braking and at crucial corner sequenses. You've already used it whitin the last right hander reaching the final chicane. Anyway, other than that, good driving yo, just hang in there.
Just did some simple math: He joined in sep 05, since then its been round about 1600 days. Now for each day, that would be about 625 km. Since he was not online each and every day, that result should be raised by a few more kms for each day, say 700-900 km each day. Considering that he has done a lot of it on the oval in the very beginning for quite some time, where, as we all know, raising the distance count is relatively easy, it's a pretty normal ratio IMO.
Being devoted to something, say a hobby perhaps, makes one having no live? Face it, you don't have a clue what you're talking about since all you've only got are these stats and all you do is assuming that he ain't got anything else to do. I'm seriously wondering, who's got the issues here?
Well, why would you get intimidated in the first place?
It's not like you _need_ to get into the top ten or anything like that (or else...), right? Once you join a server, you'll most likely find people who are at your level, and also people who will push you, so you can...well get quicker & stuff. Either way, enjoy the ride because nothing else really matters, on public servers though. Anything else, such as progress, is a side effect and shouldn't be taken too serious.
