Quote from DEVIL 007 :Why everybody has to ofend Demo racers.
Some of them were with LFS for ages before they actually bought it and not everybody has to register on the forum as soon as he started playing it. Dont let the the demo racer speaking here....thats the really best idea. The feedback unless its total bullshit makes this game going forward.

Your reply was non-sense.
Just try to thinking more next time.

Well im not the kind of guy that usually has a go on demo racers (check my history if you don't trust me). As for the context, it was not non-sense thus it was only directed to the two demo racers who where, just like you complaining and basically forecasting that LFS is going down the toilet. So if you think it was non-sense then i can live with that.

Quote from mlekodukye :you guys who are complaining about the next release being postponed, you got too spoilt by the industry of entertainment and the whole time-is-money and cash-rules-everything-around-us philosophy and all such carnegian sht.

the developers have obviously chose the way minority of people choose nowadays: try not to get involved too much in THE SYSTEM. that's why they prefer working this way, at their homes and under no external pressure excepting people on this forum.

if you share their views on life, stay and show your support, and if you don't, go play some shiny gigapolygonal cinematic-fx fashionable trendy simulator of you being the cool driver of a luxury car so wanted by chicks

Well put man. Thats what im talking about.

As much as im trying to understand your point of view, i don't care really because i like the surprise effect. When switching to S2, i wasn't reading anything beforehand but simply installed the patch and got blown away by it the further i've discovered it. It also felt like a completely new game, which is something im expecting to happen with the next major patch (aka stage) as well.

Surely, the decision of the devs is a result of a minority that just ain't got no grasp for this project whatsoever and is moaning like custumers that got conned or even deprived of their money. Why is that? I don't dare to guess really as it would fill pages, i guess. If i remember correctly, when one of the Devs created a thread and stating things reagarding certain things of development, they've had left the thread open where i've personally seen no need to have a discussion about it. Maybe thats just me but this way, they where basically asking for the trolls to leave their caves & cages and spam us with the strangest opinions or whatever.

Of course, negative comments are or should be welcome, as long as they either make sense, are based on facts (et cetera) or a combination of that. Quite the opposite was happening (mostly) and if they, the devs, think that they need to deal with the trolls that way (at the moment) it is only understandable and should be respected but surely it isn't the best method in my opinion.

Healty ignorance, trust into your skills, the progression that lies behind & possibly ahead and a good sense of humour is all you really need (i guess).

This is what i don't get, some people act as if this is a big company and build up their expectations upon these false impressions. The facts are there, clearly stated within this forum and several interviews with the devs. Development pace is comparatively slow (as the number of devs already should imply) and it's not going to accelerate the further they get but the exact opposite.

Just in case you're planing to use the "nothing really happend over the past few years" argument. Many things have happend, you can read them up with every patch and most of these fixes/issues/addons et cetera take a lot more time and effort than you, me or anyone else that is not directly involved can possible imagine. As far is i do understand the current state of development (correct me if im wrong please), the sim needs to be optimised, rounded up, stabilised and so on which ultimately only is a preparation for further insertions of new content. This is what, besides the information i've got from official sources, common sense is telling me.

Finally, i dare to say that a given percentage of the people that left or even given up on this sim would have done so anyway, regardless of the pace of development. Some will return, some won't but thats not up to the devs entirely but also to them personally. As to that, the group of people that is able to create a game that is satisfying a great number of people over a very long period of time without losing a noticeable number of users in total, should be nominated for the nobel price.

I'm not denying that it's sad and people lose interest but making the dev's responsible for taking care of their real life after such a long time of dedication for their project is pathetic.

Quote from DevilDare :More and more people leaving/not interested anymore in LFS.

Hurry up devs....

Quote from TexasLTU :Shame theres 3 teams this week. Devs killed 3 ducks with 1 stone.

It's more likely that they've lost interest because of stupid comments like these.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Yeah, that was a little... strange.

It is possible to finish with just one set of R2 tires. Only problem is that a lot of drafting is reducing the chances dramatically. Regardless of that, taking care of the tires so they can take care of you remains a valid advice though. Personally, I would have changed them just to be on the save side instead of hunting for an allegedly advantage.

Quote from southamptonfc :Not everyone spends all day on these forums. I went to the LiveForSpeed homepage only to find it is 6 months out of date.

There is a Scirocco thread that is basically kids having arguments.

So, the point of my last post was to find out what the latest on the Scirocco patch was and to see if tyre/kurb physics are being worked on.

The point of this post is to find out why my original post had been deleted and questioning whether there should be a sticky to explain the policy.

Ok?

Have you, at some point, considered checking Scawens post history as he is the one in charge on these matters?

I've been chased by an AI once while hotlapping on FE4 with the UF1 but didn't saved the replay because i thought you'd trust my word on this one actually. He was even trying to communicate with me using horn and headlights. Was a little scary though.

On a serious note, no replay = rumours, waste of time & space /meh

E:\GTL\GameData\Locations\Nordschleife\tourist

I've just downloaded the version you've got and the folder structure within the archive is exactly as above.

If that doesn't work then you can also try another version, which I'm using for ages btw.

Good luck.

Which version is it you've got then? Some archives already containing the correct folder structure within and it may have happend that, instead of just putting the track with the actual folder into the location folder, you've created a folder that includes the sub folders again.

so its not:

"D:\Games\GTL\GameData\Locations\Nordschleife"

for instance but

"D:\Games\GTL\GameData\Locations\GTL\GameData\Locations\Nordschleife"

Or, the name of the track folder isn't correct, for whatever reason. Can't think of anything else at the moment. Would be helpful to know the version though.

Just seen True Lies (first time in english though )

"Doris" aka Jamie Lee Curtis said: "I married Rambo!" after "Boris" aka Arnold Schwarzenegger has released a couple of supporting actors aka "Crimson Jihad" off their duties. Had to giggle (just a little) about that one.

Sorry, its not a TV series, will remove it if requested.

Quote from Fordman :
Disconnected for bad Setup, not enough wanking points, WTF. No explaination, nada. I only wanted to have a race, with old friends and a laugh, yet I end up being told I am to old, don't race enough and my care plan deserves to be in an old people's home and that my car is tax exempt

I'm not sure really about the quality of online races actually as I've been inactive for quite some time now myself but one thing is for sure, times have changed and so has the quality (For the better or worse? I dont know, depends on where you connect and the people that tend to do so as well i guess), especially while having the number of people in mind that got licenced over the years, which should be about (wild guess alert!) thirty thousand?

Funny thing is, systems like the one described in the quote, are mostly created for people like you. Only catch is, that as you've already mentioned, you've gotta stick around in order to really benefit from it.

It'll always be the same at some point i guess and a certain group of people being in the minority has to suffer parts of their freedom or so in order to continue with what they're doing and all that's just because another group of people, mostly in the majority, are either inexperienced, slightly stupid or completely insane or whatever.

There is so much more to say about it really but as I'm getting a little tired at the moment, I'm also to lazy to continue now. Will return tomorrow eventually...

Edit: heres something i'd like share regarding administration these days, since its been put well together in my opinion. click

Thanks Becky, couldn't have said it any better.

Well i do understand, its just a game afterall, or a simulator respectively. Its just that, how shall i put it, its a bit contradictory really. Here we have the "game" where people are helping eachother and so on. Its all friendly and competition, at least when it comes to public servers and to a certain degree, even for the hotlap mode, is or should be well balanced and healthy and the fun (while pushing eachothers limits for instance) should have highest priority, right? Because after all, its not about money or marketing related stuff. "Its just a game." So therefore, i dont have a problem whatsoever. But, in F1 and simular racing series, a setup is what can and will make a difference, besides the driver & the team involved of course, and as far as i know, this part of "development" is well secured from one another.

So with this in mind, the current hotlap chart would look totally different without the RAF data available. Not only that, without setup sharing, which admittedly is a great feature of this game really, online racing also would be looking a lot different.

Just for clarification, i only want to know what other people think and perhaps get a better understanding on this matter, because this has been bugging me since day one. Thats all.

Cheers
