Microsoft made a black and Orange theme for XP for the Zune, there's a link to the free download. Don't worry, it has nothing to do with the Zune but the colors.

nice theme thanks alot for this but strange is that i cant find it over the regular download page. Besides, are there any other themes? XPEnergyBlue is already installed

Quote from Vain :I wasn't going to comment in this discussion, but the FM vs STCC oval race was the most boring race I ever witnessed in all my LFS career. I watched half of it as a spectator, so I got to see it from both a driver's and a spectator's viewpoint.

No, I'm not exaggerating. I'm absolutely honest.

Vain

if one thing bothers me in lfs then that the cameras at the oval aren't placed very well. Not all but most of them dont show everything or the FOV is far to small also some cams have got a zoom function which can be quite annoying as well.

For example, when i watch a replay or a race theres one car selected on which the focus is all the time which also means i dont see what the rest of the field is doing. Papyrus did a great job by offering 3 spectator cams so you can always choose the one which gives you the best view or overview. I know doing this can be lots of work so a adjustable cam for users would do a good job as well but im not sure is this is realisable.

ImO this is the main reason why watching races on the oval can be quite boring. But i prefer to be on the track more then watching races so i can live with it .

what i see is a puny dopey sheep, frustrated by getting owned and without any understanding what its all about. He needs attention, you gave him far to much of it and i see no point in bringing this "conversation" any further.

+1 for closing this useless thread to avoid any more generally stultification by him.

Quote from sgt.flippy :Try searching it on the net, you never know if you find it. That's how I found Nascar. Can you believe Papyrus is still offering it for sale? Like who's gonna buy it? Just like Wacky wheels, I want the full version, but there's demo everywhere and you can still pay to get it

I played the original version of nascar at that time, my nephew had it. But I was kinda shy back then, always was, going better now, so I was always scared to ask if I could play, but the times he asked if I wanted to, or someone else, I was in heaven.

No i cant believe its still for sale lol (how much?) Whacky Wheels was kind of funny as well, used to play it with a buddy in split screen and he was and probably still is a bloody hacker and managed to unlock the hole content lol. He used to play every single part of Commander Keen as well which should been said enought about him About IndyCar, i searched for it years ago but couldnt find it anywhere, this was before the torrent/ rapidshare invasion so i guess i should have a look at this again. Also i guess i could find it with sharing progs like the donkey & stuff but i dont trust them anymore, to many viruses and horses around.

Quote from sgt.flippy :Really amazing, I found the first Nascar game from Papyrus. When I played it in the good ol' days, I loved the damage, it looked so real and detailed, just great. Now I barely noticed the damage and couldn't see it... My eye is trained for detail now.

I still have the Original Version of it. Bought on 25.01.95 for 99 DM which is around 50 €

But IndyCar Racing is missing in my Collection

i just had to do a research after checking this thread and finally found the names of the games i have played first. I already forgot the names but i could identify them by screenshots Ok, i give you two games because i cant really remember which one of those i have started first because its about 20 years ago now. I still own 2 of them (inherited from my dad) + a datasette but i think they are defective after 15 years non use.

Sit in AWE at the conviction of the lady singing, and gape in wonderment at the amazing guitar skills near the end!

I think this might actually kill some people.

Hey Nobo its still possible to get rid of the noobs/ wreckers you name it you just have to know when to attack Sure its much harder now b/c like you said, driving the bf1 now with these tires its much easier to handle the car in much more situations compared to the fo8. Bumpdraft trains are not that thrilling anymore, its nice now and then but drafting became much more important now, at least i think it does and even Mr. Failure himself likes to draft more often then pushing cars around the track

@ Bob Smith, if you show me a setup with wing settings 0/0 that can keep up at top speed without loosing speed in turns esp. in turn 3 with lets say, 2 cars infront giving draft, then youre my hero if you know what i mean I tried that only once or twice and its not possible at top speeds to stick to your line or the line you need in order to keep up. My settings are 2/2 and everything below is suicide But i dont know, maybe you have got different setup creation skills and could teach me on that.

i think he is talking about the physics changes after patch Q especially the tire behavior which made it much easier to handle every single vehicle on this and any other track. I cant imagine anything else. Anyway, honestly i cant see the coherency of this with this particular case. But im sure if nobo has some spare time he surely will let us know about that.

got some things to add here:

1. everybody knows blackwood from the demo so its perfect to start with and get used to all the others cars so these stats makes sense (at least i did so and i think, many or maybe most of the people do/ did the same but theres no statistic to proof this )

2. it needed 2 servers in the past for quite a long time from RR to catch up which brings me to...

3. in general, there are and has been much more blackwood server then oval servers

4. Who else, except FM is running the oval in a professional way for such a long time now?

5. most people realized that the oval isnt that easy and it needs much more time (then they think) to get good laptimes (not only alone but also and much more important in a group/ field of vehicles) which is, in my opinion the main reason people dont race there that often compared to other tracks or in this particular case, blackwood

About the oval in general id like to split the users in three groups:

Group 1: People without passion & knowledge

Those people mostly think the oval is just a simple track with three corners/ turns you name it, they try everything to be the fastest and get mad when they realize that its not that easy. -> hate & frustration followed by a disconnect after a few laps/ races or less is the consequence (some people give it up just too quickly)

Group 2: People without passion but knowledge

At least, they try to learn the track, they improve more or less and possibly cultivate some passion for it (yes it is a track believe it or not ) which mainly depends on the rest of the field and their skill levels

(With "knowledge" is meaned either general experiences and/ or for this specific track)

Group 3: experienced people with passion

"Oval Junkies" (for example (not only FM members)) Depends on which group you belong (1 or 2) they can bring you quickly at a level where racing the oval can be a great experience. Having in your mind that those people are very rarely these days it can be very hard to reach a level of high quality racing at all time. Its an exponential progress, the more people with experiences are online, the more people could learn how to behave on this track. This is one of many unique attributes this track offers/ demands. Sadly but true, most people tend to race on their own, trying to get rid of everybody else asap (which is surely the goal but not at all time &/ or asap) which is the main reason of the bad quality at non FM servers (not in general but mostly imho) or even at our servers without FM member or other experienced drivers online. Funny thing is, people join to race together but the reality is what i have described above. Fact is, oval is about teamplay which doesnt exclude battles for positions but to understand this it needs more then a couple of laps/ races.

This means not to offend anybody rather then that it should expand the understanding of "how to race the oval".

Surprisingly there are people from group one that switches to group two but this is the exceptional case. I dont like to generalize things at all but in general and what i have experienced this group model is reality.

One last thing, im open for any constructive criticism but if this is just another senseless anti oval thread this is my one and only comment.

Cheers and btw, i like blackwood as well

For sure Scawen has a clue . Im sorry for not reading every single thread, everyday like some of you guys obviously do. Since the search & find procedure is getting more and more time consuming i have to thank you for this information spam . With this in my mind i also have to apologize for the inappropriate comment i have made but sometimes things like this -> illepall makes it hard to give a proper answer.

"I'd rather see Scawen work on more important stuff than turning LFS into a CnR game"

me too but see it more as an feature for people that loves the game itself and just enjoy driving the cars or maybe get used to the game at all. You dont have to join those servers and no one said its status has first priority.

Quote from MAGGOT :It was just stated a couple posts up that it is not possible with LFS's engine.illepall

yeah from some pseudo specialists who dont know for sure or cant remember correctly and so on..... No offence guys but if you dont have a clue why do you think you have?

i dont think any of you guys have got such deep knowledge about the lfs engine to make such comments. But if so, some more details could be helpful which would also avoid our *sweet* lil needless conversation MAGGOT.

so? but what if its been already prepared as kind of a "free room" which means you cant have races there. Like another layout has been added which also wont appear at lfsw and so on. CLC has proofed already thats its not necessary to have races in LFS to have fun.

Quote from XenoWolf :I'd rather the devs concentrate on other things than waste time making more tracks/cars. Dynamic weather, day/night cycling (both would be an amazing addition to endurance racing), proper damage modeling and finally fixing the damn moon-launching signage would be much higher on the priority list..

here we go again, who said this should be, from now on, the task with the highest priority?

Quote from fischfix : ...some times in the near future...

also, we know we cant demand anything but a suggestion should be allowed eh

Quote from Greboth :lol can just imagine the update
"LFS gains a 14 mile german public road which may seem similar to the Nordschleife"

The nordschleife is a good track (its one reason i still play gt4 occasionally) and it would be amazing in LFS but imagine the noobs trying to remember all 150 corners (or however many)

Be honest, wasnt the mother the one and only reason you bought this game? Btw, some people are not even able to remember 3 corners but thankfully this is the minority

Quote from SamH :I think what Scawen is saying is that the system is still being developed. Changes that you make now *may* be incompatible (i.e. won't work) after future patches. It's up to YOU if you want to develop new sounds, as long as you understand this.

It's like hotlapping.. bear in mind that, in future incompatible patches, your hotlaps will be wiped. If you don't want to spend the time hotlapping, knowing this, that's entirely your decision. Same with the sounds

[edit] I just realised I said nothing more than Scawen already said! LOL!

Did I answer the wrong question?

yes / no / maybe

thanks anyway & cheers
