What makes you so sure about that? Perhaps it happens and perhaps it doesn't but that won't change the fact that we as a species are the cancer for planet earth.

Anyway, ever heard of the pole shift hypothesis or the predictability and intensity of tectonic forces & solar flares, or how about global warming & glabal dimming, deforestation or the extinction of species living much longer on this planet than we do?

Don't bother to reply though as this is not the right place nor do I feel the need to discuss this in here any longer.

Quote from JJ72 :
The movie isn't about man made consequence destroying the earth, it's just about some natural cosmic happenings, so don't know what lesson you can derive from there.

A few words to your added content: We will face simular if not worse conditions than that some day if we do infact carry on like that.

Movies are a form of art, like a painting or something, and therefore everyone will discover them diffently. It's a matter of what you do expect from a movie and clearly, at least according to your response, your expectations where set way too high. I do agree that it's an typical "hollywood bling bling mega effects whatever" flick, but apart from many other movies, this one's based on pretty realistic facts (apart from the mutating neutrinos _perhaps_ :shrug and was nevertheless, quite entertaining.

The main reason why I do like these kind of movies is that the actual message is somewhat hidden underneath the coat of an action movie and a lot more people are more or less forced to deal with these kind of issues this way. Not that they (the movies) will ever make a big difference anyway (IMO), but they are there and can't be ignored, or say can't be less ignored than some *boring* documentaries.

Speaking about which, I've been watching a lot of documentaries lately (for the past few years though), about the change of climate (and stuff...), and how much we as a species are involved, how arrogant, ignorant and unaware most individuals really are (e.g. the "If it doesn't affect me or the environment I'm living in, then I don't care." attitude).

I've been watching this stuff out of pure interest, and it is also something you need to be willing to deal with in some way or another.

Buttom line is, the world is changing, and since about 100 years, towards an almost unpredictable and certainly devastating level, whether we like it or not. The more people are aware of that, the early we can do something about it and the methods used to bring this message across should be the least concern for us at this time really.

Quote from DevilDare :Scorpions.

Also, my friend just stabbed me through the intertubes.

When he said Scorpions are shit, and stated that Greenday are way better......

...he's made a choise. Matter of taste, hither and thither.

Quote from DevilDare :Funny. Me and my mate spent all day today talking about Scorpions.

I love them.

Scorpions - Wind of Change. Still one of the best songs to be written IMO.

lol, was it the same guy?

Quote from zeugnimod :This is great!

i second that!

Quote from 510N3D :Soundgarden - Rusty Cage

Hammerbox - Simple Passing

Swervedriver - Last Train To Satansville

Hammerbox - Trip

Swervedriver - Duel

Soundgarden - Superunknown

Yup, since nobody had (openly) figured it out yet - these tracks are from the Game "Road Rash" which was using (almost) the same game engine [EA] as Need for Speed 1 (afaik)

Quote from Victor :Ochre - Beneath fleeting visions
(http://ochremusic.com/music/ - second song on the album Lemodie)
I love these beautiful string harmonies and odd but not really noticable 5/4 beat. It gets me so focussed on all the details that i feel as being inside the music. Bit like drugs for me this is

I'm also a big fan of this kind of music. Experimental, ambient, dub whatever sort of stuff. (thanks for sharing though)

FM-Failure has got a radio channel running for quite some time now, playing exactly this kind of music, and it's got an awsome range of the stuff like mentioned above. You might wanna check it out some day or another.

Fail's Audio Workshop

For example:

Forss - Journeyman

Onra - my Comet

Air France - Collapsing at Your Doorstep

Tosca - Springer

Having the idea and course of LFS in the back of my head, the only logical conclusion I can make at this point, regarding real life content though, is that LFS, and it's community after all, can only benefit from it. Not only is this stuff an addition to the content that is already available, (mostly fictional) but more than that, the quality will improve in many ways and the developers themselves, (most likely & hopefully) will learn a lot, "open a few more doors", and improve in many other ways as well.

So I don't get all the moaning really, except for the idea or fear about LFS not being & remaining unique on the market, regarding it's (mostly fictional) content and _exceptional_ way of development. This decision however, is to make by the developers only, and hopefully, LFS won't become a clone of a clone, some day or another.

Speaking about fictional & unique content though, the XRT is a sexy beast and behaves just like it, the FZ5 feels like a tank on steroids (yay), and as a "racer" and SiM-fan for about 15 years (Nascar Racing ), I dare to say that the tracks are awesome, almost flawless and can compete with any real life tracks there are. No need to mention the impressive physics at this point really. Also, the graphics may be considerably old, (although partly updated or fixed along the way) but quite honestly, LFS not only can still compete with many games that are available but also is providing just enough effects & features in order to support the action on track (in my opinion).

Finally, we shall not forget _all_ the details that are making LFS what it is, an outstanding Simulator, no one was able to construct really. Of course, there are other products available but seriously, with the way of development, the number of developers and the day of its release in mind, how can anyone possibly dare to not only compare this product to anything else but also question its course or predict its destination.

I'm not saying that there's nothing to be disappointed about, but considering the framework conditions, there is more than enough to discover and it is still a game after all, and especially not something to fill a gap with, 24/7 or so.

Quote from Scawen :
Added option to set colour of road car gear LED display

Thanks a bunch.

Quote from ussbeethoven :Would it be possible to make this display also optional on road cars (except RAC) for H-gate shifter users?

Black makes it optional.

Sorry if that's already been asked/answered, but I'm just wondering if it would be possible to add another function that allows us to edit the colour of the new digital gear indicator.

Regardless of my previous comment really, I've been checking the number of players that are online almost daily, for the past few years though, and what I've seen was something about 1000 to 1300 players each day, and about 1500 to 2000, give or take a few hundret, after each patch. The percentage of demo users was about 30-40% each day, at least according to my observation.
