well i'd like to see that happen too but on the contrary i'd prefer the devs working on a solution everytime this happens instead of wasting time on the "outcome".
No they dont. The only thing that happens is an automatic ban if you gather many bans from many servers within a short period of time. Even then this is still not permanent as far as i know. In the hotlap system however you will get removed permanently (afaik) which is about the only thing the devs are acting upon on this matter (afaik).
Its not about the track as the one and only choise for disabled people nor about kyoto is for disabled people only!
On the oval the main focus is on the traffic rather then on the track itself. Its an easy track and with the right car/ setup you can go around much easier then on a curcuit track and still get your action. (with the current LFS version that is) That doesnt mean oval is a granny track or something, it is getting pretty difficult the more you learn and more then that, the more experienced people are around you. But, the way i see it, the spectrum of oval races is much broader, it provides more action for every stage of the learning curve in that respect.
However, in LFS, dependent on your health status and your personal matter of taste you may choose what that status allows you to do or what suits you best.
For Popps who is having a hard time already (every now and then) playing the game, this is one of the few solutions left to fulfil his desires, his need to play a proper game together with some buddies for instance. Then saying its the wrong game for him because he wishes to expand that little space he has found within LFS is not only harsh but also arrogant and disgusting. That also applies on the comparison of one disability with another one or lets put it this way: that makes no sense! (leaving the off-topic crap untouched here...)
I do agree that using his health status as a form of pressure isn't really the best thing to do but Popps already has rephrased his first post in order to say what he really meant by that. Funny enough that as same as previous and following posts has shown, that simple gets ignored and i guess it will still get taken out of the context. But who cares eh? Lets just argue about it for twenty more pages no matter how many times it has been explained before.
However, that, and im refering to the way Popps asked for a favour, is nothing against the ongoing bashing about the oval (and simular none curcuit track racing related subjects) from people (mostly the same psychos btw) who never or briefly used it before or (to some extent) tried to understand or tolerate it at all. Absurd to think that any of the alternatives LFS has to offer is in no demand of any skills actually and getting those sort of statements from someone (like shotglass, tristan and danowat to name just a few) without a clue is the best (repeatingly!) example of an paradox i have even seen in this forum.
Im just wondering how many people stay away from this forum simple because of this lack of objectivity.

sorry but you dont know anything about our server at all and accusing us for such a behaviour while only joining every now and then pretty much proves my point. I do understand that a limited knowledge could easily lead into such a conclusion and i can ensure you that you're not taking all circumstances into account in order to make a proper judgement.
1. What are the devs thinking about this? (I believe its pointless at some point to argue about it unless there is no official statement from you guys)
2. Just in case you agree that this is a way of gaining an advantage and unfair towards the "regular user", is there a solution in order to deny this or do we all have to make use of it now (or worse...) (sort of an official feature or something, meaning to reduce the timing/ mechanism of the auto clutch/ optimzing manual clutch to reduce/ erase the advantage for instance)?
3. Just in case you dont agree then please tell us why because its obviously* a fairly delicate subject.
* at least from what i could gather out of this thread
Have i missed something? If so then please let me know.
Well i've got no problem sharing sets at all, in game or inferno. Of course, sometimes im working on setups and i hate to hand out rubbish/ trims which i have not yet tested enough myself in order to say its "ok it worth sharing it". What i do hate is when people use my setups that i have published and then upload/ send them away as their own setups without giving any credits.
About that hotlap analyzer thing which is infact nothing new, just more integrated and easier to use, i tend to agree with the idea of it up to a certain point. If its been used to learn from this data, fair enough but if people just copy and paste those available settings then this is simple down to a lack of imagination or self limitation. Truth is, the available settings are offering vital parts of a setup and a skilful "tweaker" knows how to make use of it and its just a matter of time to get the rest together. But some people tend to forget that there is no wonder setup (not even on the oval...) and many approaches can lead to the same/ simular result. The only question is if its worth for each and everyone to invest enough time into tweaking/ "maximal track usage" in order to get there.
So if you prefer the shortcut then go use available data but if you want to be proud about the result in the end, go start from scratch.
Yeah well both games are under development and that for a indefinite period. You can compare them, content and feature wise but at some point, if you try and put everything together it just leads you towards an subjective or incomplete conclusion.
Same here. As much as im tempted to give it a go it simply is against my nature. I wouldn't exactly call it a rip off or anything, mostly due to a lack of proper information about the circumstances for this decision but it really has a bad taste somehow. Hopefully it doesnt end up like MCO.
Something on topic, im patient, been for a long time and about to as long as i have to since i knew very early about the way LFS is going to be developed (at least roughly). LFS is still thrilling even after a couple of years now. Well, it is getting boring every now and then but i have no idea why i should stop playing it completely (at least im not forced to play it since its not a rental product ) after all the good times it brought me (not to mention the relationships with so many great people along the way (heck i even had a great week in spain with some of them and if that is not remarkable to get from a "niche product" then i dont know what else to say )). I had my moments every now and then but yeah, soon ripe, soon rotten i guess.
Im sorry but i guess i missed that period. Must had been before i joined. Besides that and your join date, you aint got a single hotlap yet, how would you know?
Look at it as an extension instead of an replacement. Like for me who aint got that much left of that stuff its good to try some things out without buying entire packages (again) It can become rather expensive after a while and this way i can, just in case im willing to spend the time to think about stuff that is worth building for a decent or reasonable purpose, save a lot of money this way
Yup, every single post/ thread (and that excludes constructive criticism) is comming from people like you which are on the same level as you are (knowing nothing or less about anything regarding the topic but thinking they can judge simply by guessing):
/end off (mr i cant type a simple name and prefer to use red colour to make myself look more important)
Edit: S14 DRIFT: where is your proof or lets put it this way: who do you think you are knowing what the majority of the community feels like or wants to have? Seriously, thats some major bs.
Thats exactly my point, how would you or anyone else know about such things (speaking about upcoming content and features)? People aint getting banned for voicing their opinions but for the way they are doing it and some just dont get it (obviously, speaking about the "hammer") no matter how much facts there are. If youre impatient, do something else and dont complain about things that had been clearly stated since the very beginning.
Agreed, some people are just too far from reality. Im wondering what some people are missing in ScaViEr's explainations about this project (LFS) in the past few years. Its like so paradox these days, if you support the dev's no matter how objective your opinion is, youre a bootlicker immediately. Im sorry for those who dont get it, seriously.
Well, after all i've never have expected myself to agree with becky on something, although her opinion has changed for the good about this topic for some reason or another.
Both systems, live adminning and stewarding system have got their up and down sides and i cant imagine and oval server without any admin around for some reason but maybe with an adjusted set of rules and proper conditions it would be, i dont know. But since there is only one oval and not a single car that really suits the oval, mostly because of none realistic aerodynamic settings (at least not completely tbf) and missing suspension/ weight adjustment settings, i can see no point that would make this kind of effort reasonable for the public base.
We are doing it as professional as the situations allows us to without leaving the fun factor out of the equation. Yes, i call a few simple rules applied and observed by live admins professional. As stupid as those rules seem to be for some people (mostly those who never ever set foot on our server actually and/ or dont get the actual purpose behind it) they are essential to obtain the high quality of races, races in which you shouldn't have to fear to have someone standing around the track doing donuts or simular tedious stuff.
Ok i better stop right here before i start knocking about the real unpleasant stuff in this thread. Instead ill just leave a replay
just for clarification, im not detaching the wheel and removing the cable thats attached underneath it The plug attached to the pc is what i was referring to. (Sorry, i dont think youre stupid, its just too damn late and im just imagining youre doing just that (because of the lack of a proper explaination from my side) :shy
/check the edit at my previous post + try standard settings like 720/900° and anything below 40% FF in LFS (just in case the green light is constantly on and not blinking or not doing anything at all:schwitz.
I think its down to the strange settings of yours (heavy FF in combination with low wheel turn *uhoh* :schwitz but im just guessing here (yeah yeah matter of taste i know ). Simular to what Sam said, im simple removing (/attaching) the usb plug from the wheel (again) after every change i have made or in case the wheel acts weird or something.
Edit: what is the green light on the right side of the shifter doing? Also, is it still working with patch Y or any other game?
Scawen would you care to give a bit more details about that?
As for the rest, haven't tested anything yet but with the change log in mind and after looking at the some of the sceenshots in here it certainly looks like a nice piece of work
Not sure if this has been reported already but i have noticed two minor bugs lately.
One of it is about the textures, particularly the rear light textures which are quite often not loaded correctly it seems. It looks like a "dull" texture that seems to be some sort of a placeholder or something. Today i have seen it happen with my own car (for the first time) and it changed while on track. I had to pit (just for repair, no shift+P/S) and the textures where normal and after leaving the pitlane again they went weird. (track was KY3R and car was XRG)
The second issue was that, after refueling once in the pitlane, at every following pitstop the game tries to refuel the same amount again although is was set to zero again (F12). It wouldn't stop until i start moving and im also getting a message saying that fuel has been added but its still the same amount. I was not able to reproduce this bug but the circumstances where as follows:
Track: KY3R
Car: RB4
Session Mode: Practice
Fuel in tank: 40%
Fuel to add: 100%
Just in case that happens again, i will save the replay. Forgot about it this time
i do because unlike the DFP the G25 aint got no hard lock created by force feedback while setting wheel turn compensation above 0. I cant stand it like that so yes, im changing it for every car. Not of a big problem though since im usually not changing cars that often within a session.
