Do you have any reputable sources for the claims you make (especially in terms of numbers and support for things such as sharia law)?

Quote from flymike91 :Unlike the more benign Abrahamic religions

This comment is also worth pointing out, but I won't comment on it.

How did you grow to become so hateful of so many people from one religion, Mike?

Quote from Hyperactive :flymike is many things but him being islamophobic is a new one to me. Not surprising though

It's not new to some of us:

Quote from flymike91 :Sweden is hopefully starting to see that all these "refugees" they are letting in are actually somali/palestinian/pakistani extremists. Norway needs to listen up too.

The rest of the thread is also worth a read. It contains such gems as the following:

Quote from flymike91 :By the time you have taken the time effort into studying the nuances of how and why Extremist Muslims want to kill you, you're already dead.

If he doesn't reply, you might want to try to PM Kev/thisnameistaken. From a number of his previous posts he seems to perform (and at least aid in co-ordinating) a lot of live and/or recorded music, so he could be a source of information for this.

A couple more COTF related videos from speedcafe:

Ford Performance Racing shakes ... Car of the Future Falcon
Nissan Motorsport unveils its 2013 V8 Supercars Engine

From the Nissan engine video it's interesting to hear Todd touch on the parity/balancing of the Nissan engine. As fuel economy is playing an ever-increasing role in deciding the races it's certainly an aspect that will need to be very carefully scrutinised.

If it has been due to Webber pitting he would have lost more than just one spot.

Quote from Crashgate3 :Pretty sure I remember reading (or seeing on TV) speedboats have a dead-man's switch in case he helmsman falls overboard. No idea if they actually do though.

Jet skis typically have a similar safety feature:

Quote from SafetyResource.org :Many jet skis come with a lanyard that is placed around the wrist, which that will automatically shut off the engine if the driver falls.

You plug a 'key' attached to your wrist into the jet ski and if you fall off the key falls out and kills the throttle.

Incidentally, I had the lap chart up during the race and it showed that Senna overtook Webber during lap 2 (i.e. under the SC period for the 1st corner crash). Does anyone know how this happened?

Voted a few times and also linked to this thread on the #liveforspeed IRC channel to try and drum up a few more supporters. The way you've constructed this thread (choice of thread title and body of OP) is the right way to ask people to help with voting. On top of that it sounds like a worthy cause, so good luck

Your frustration is understandable, but these limits are due to third party add-ons and the rules of specific server admins (i.e. they're not LFS's 'fault'). Some server admins want to try to ensure that only people who are at least a little experienced on the current car/track combo are allowed to drive, so they apply these limits. Whether this is a good policy or not is debatable, but you shouldn't blame LFS for them.

Unfortunately, the current state of public racing in LFS means there isn't often a lot of choice, so you can get stuck with the same handful (or perhaps even 1 at certain times) of popular servers to choose from. The 'blame' for this is also debatable.

In short, if you want to enjoy public racing in LFS at the moment you'll probably have to put up with these limits. The good news is that for most people the limits aren't really that difficult to achieve. Just find another server with the same car & track (or find an empty server where you can change the car & track to match) and do a few laps to hit the target laptime.

Quote from nathan246 :So it was alright for Tagliani to completly put Villeneuve out of the way?

I didn't say that. I'd like to see a replay of the earlier incident (where Tagliani hit Villeneuve), but regardless of what came before Villeneuve didn't deserve the win.

Tense end to the race. Villeneuve didn't deserve to win after so blatantly spinning Tagliani.

On DualShock 2/3 controllers the shoulder buttons provide analogue input. Can't they be configured as axes in LFS?

Quote from Test Driver :Just read the IMDB site about this movie. The plot summary alone made me sick.

Is this possibly the most f****d up thing ever conceived by man?

Another contender: A Serbian Film.

Quote from Cornys :Well, Sadler clearly beat the leader to the Start/finish line on the restart and failed to give the position back. Rules are rules

He was being pushed by the car behind at the time though (as Sadler mentioned on the radio and the commentators agreed). The combination of the poor restart by the #22 and Sadler being pushed made it look like he jumped early. I liked the fact that it seemed as though Nascar were at least open to reviewing the incident (after Sadler told his engineer to ask for a review he said they were looking at it), but the decision to uphold the black flag seemed to be the wrong one. In some other categories (such as V8 Supercars) these type of penalties are handed out by "judges of fact" and can't be appealed, no matter how strong the evidence.

edit: Watch this replay. The interviews at the end of this make it seem like there's a hole in the rules that needs to be looked at.

Quote from Yuri Laszlo :How the hell can you fail a drug test you've scheduled yourself?

The 'B' drug test is done on the same sample that was originally taken for the 'A' drug test. It's not like you can just wait a couple of weeks and hope anything incriminating has already passed from your system. On the note of detection, though, it's interesting to note that they're still just using a urine test here, rather than something which is more reliable on a long-term basis (such as a urine sample in conjunction with a hair sample).

Quote from J@tko :Quoting someone I know, on RBR's front wing flexing:

...

Didn't give his source, sounds interesting and within the plausibility of the brain of Adrian Newey

I'm not saying this is false, of course, but let's play a game of "find the oil rails" on the front section of the chassis from this image taken on the Friday of the British GP.

edit: Compare with Force India and Sauber (I think).
