Just a quick picture, bought the Ford alloys yesterday, it's getting resprayed in a couple of weeks.

Bit of a turd, 1.4 16v, 99k miles, the only thing is cheap ish tax and it seems to be quite good on fuel, my last £20 got me 44mpg, half of the time the ignition leads were fecked and the air filter looked like the inside of a hoover.

Changing the fuel filter and oil filter next week so hoping it helps it even more.

Much nicer to drive than my old 1.4 golf, just as comfy but a much better feeling with the road.

I can't seem to find another few of the ones I really like, one I think is the picture used for Colin McRae memorial dvd's, with his '99 impreza about 20 feet in the air...a bit lop sided.

The other is like the first, maybe an 03 or 04 impreza, but it's a closer shot looking at the back of the car as it slides out behind a hairpin and in the background is some mega scenery.

Make sure you post the end project.

Quote from JJ72 :With the Safety car cancelling 45secs of the gap between them........

Though you have to admit, by the time Jenson had stopped the pack almost dead, sent Lewis off the road trying to avoid the damn stopped cars, the gap must have shot back up quite quickly...

Jenson hasn't had any proper battles with anyone yet, where as that's all Lewis has been doing, always in the dirty air and on the dirty parts of the track, which obviously asks far more of the tyres.

Quote from JPeace :you cannot blame lewis for having a car with faults. In brazil 2007, the car went into a false neutral, nothing the driver can do to stop it. And then in china, the team made him stay out so long his tyre went down onto the canvas. Neither incidents his fault, therefore he didnt throw it away, the team did.

Didn't he hit the N button on the steering wheel or was it just a massive coincidence that as he pressed a button the car jumped into neutrals?

I think Lewis has drove great this season, very entertaining, I'm still nowhere near his biggest fan but at least he's giving us some entertainment.

Quote from Stiggie :All I can say is; poor Dev's.
Because every single time they log onto the forum, they'll find another list of threads with people whinging about how the physics are coming along, when the scirocco is coming, and where S3 is staying.
And people still wonder why the devs ánd the admins have given up on the forum.
People should start looking at themselves, as that's the only reason why every source of information about LFS has gone silent on this forum.

It's always been silent until they have had something to say, it's always been that way for as far as I can remember.

I'm sure they rarely even read these long list of threads full of people moaning, they know what these threads will contain so probably wont even go near them.

I just joined the ford club, will maybe get some pics up but it's nothing special. Focus 1.4 CL, silver, big scrape up the right hand side and some general tattyness, getting some quotes soon to see how much it will be to get her cleaned up.

Can't wait to sell it already, I'm still trying to get used to having to rev a car to make it go anywhere....diesel power ftw.

I quite like them, one of my mates has a Zetec S and our garage has the same shape in getting fixed and painted, i'd sure as hell buy it if I had the money, quite like the short shift gears too.

For hatchbacks ford are good at making really great driving cars, I think it was Jeremy on top gear who said the new one has the driving quality of the focus and the build quality of a golf, which can't be a bad thing.

I'm aiming for a 2000 Bora Se TDi 115 on Monday, just depends if I have enough money or not...

By the time you pay for someone to professionally remove the glass you could just get the window replaced...

I'd check the price differences in a new window and getting someone to do it for you, if the difference isn't that much all you need to do it try it yourself again and if it works then great, if not just replace it.

He was sideways into the corner because he was never going to brake until Matt did and he claimed he was having brake problems, which begs the question even more. At least he was honest enough to admit during the interview afterwords that his intentions were to send Matt over the inside of the chicane meaning he would have to lift off and let Neal back through. Seems to me he tried to do this but just tried a bit too hard.

I watched it all, the support races too, I enjoyed it quite a lot. Totally sucked when Matt Neal took our Rob, he was on course to get his first win at his home ground and gets punted by some idiot who still believed he was in the right?

His explanation was somewhere along the lines of "I went around his outside and he turned in on me at the apex" asswipe. I used to enjoy watching him drive, nowadays I dislike him more and more and it was 100% guarantee'd that Neal and Plato would come together when they got close on track...

Yea, that black one looks seriously cool because it looks as low as it should be.

So, Sam, what's the car for this week? Delta Integrale?

The only thing I dislike about them is the gap between the arches, even with 18" wheels on they look tiny.

That's kickass, sat in one on the 1/4 mile which was a 2.5tt modded to 1 single bigass turbo, done it in 12.8 seconds, was bloody mean!

Our one was a 4.0 V8, only 260bhp, 15 seconds on the 1/4 which even was still fast for a car that would do 170mph....and still could.

Good stuff though, get some pics and vids.

This one allways pops into mind when I think about the soarer.

Waow a soarer! My old man used to have one, fricking great cars!

2.5TT or 3.0 or 4.0? Either way every model is good, lovely car to be in, especially at speed.

Quote from sam93 :Under gocompare.com with the same details I have on my van... So exactly same type of policy, just with a 205 GTI put on instead of the van.

I'm wondering though which companies will let you transfer bike NCB over though, as I have 1yr NCB from my bikes I had last year, so if Admiral will transfer them over next year, I'll have a nice cheap policy on my own one. But I'm planning on saving all money up this year to pay insurance off in one next year as I'll be in college.

You do realise that 1 YNB will barely put a dent in a policy for any car, never mind a 205 GTI?

Edit, I think there is Jack, because if mods make your policy invalid, then effectively your driving without insurance which is a crime.

Quote from Jakg :I doubt the police would do you for anything - the insurers don't care if you dont declare mods - you pay all your premiums, and they just right off any claim you make. Win win for them...

Also, if you are gonna not declare any mods, probably best *not* to brag about it on the intarweb.

If your going to change the engine an a car to a differnt one this has to be declared to the DVLA who will have to send you a new V5 stating these changes. I'm pretty sure that insurance companys have some sort of access to the DVLA's database, meaning as soon as the car is registered with a differnt engine the insurance company will know anyway.

So yea, my point is that the cars V5 document will say that the engine is differnt to the size it is, this is what he will get done for, if he ever gets that far.

Waow Sam, seriously, your on about keyboard warriors then your on preaching to people about how you wouldn't mind changing the engine and not declaring it.

Aside from the fact that your insurance will be void, what happens when the police pull you over and check out the car? Sounds retarded to me, I know a guy with a 2.0 in a 1.0 registered corsa and he's scared to drive it incase he gets caught, sounds great.

Btw, your 1k a year insurance quotes on the 205, named driver or what? Seems rather low for such a car for the first year, I smell some verbal. (Either that or your quotes are for before you've passed your test)

On the note of not having to declare everything, your insurance company is here to make money, so they will do everything in their power to find a reason to not pay out if you have an accident.

Yoman, Sold my dumb piece of Opel on Saturday, knew a guy with a Golf Mk4 Gt Tdi 110 with only 90k miles, good car, was that fugly green tho, was gunna buy it but he put it on ebay and only got £1300 for it..

So now i've borrowed a beastly 800cc daewoo matiz that won't go down from 3rd to 2nd, but atleast it goes up the gears....

I wont even bother getting a picture of it, so now i've maybe got a chance at a fairly cheap Mk4 Golf again, 2.0 GTI, 90k miles and this one is black with a fresh paintjob, for around similar money as the other one.

Or a mega cheap Rover (MG ZR 1.4) in that gun metal grey (I think thats the colour) regardless of the slagging rovers get, i just need a car and it's better than a damn daewoo.

Quote from BlakjeKaas :That is not even a little bit the same.

Why not, the same reasoning is applied, which is, just because something happens all the time, if I make said thing happen is it justified?

What happens in nature is fine, animals have to hunt in order to survive. What if I found a pack of zebras, shot one dead and dropped it off infront of a pack of lions, is that nature, I mean they eat zebras all the time..right?
