Quote from bbman :Seeing that he only was in 2nd because he was punted out of the way just the corner before and he was the one actually trying to go through the chicane I'd say it was fair game...

A tiny tap on his rear bumper, hardly punted. Also in the chicane, he never had the inside line so he's never going to get through side by side, he never had any intention of making it through that chicane.

Good driving Alex, extremely bold and brave I guess, you put your car in a lot of crazy positions but I guess the other drivers were good in that respect.

Fast too, no one else on the track had half the pace you did, good stuff.

That V8 supercars race was brilliant but BS that Jamie won it, after he cut the chicane while in 2nd he should have had to give up the place, other than that it was crazy good.

That Scirocco race, oh my damn god, I hate to criticise racing drivers because their obviously there for a reason, but in this case there is an exception...$$$

I got lucky tbh, tyre places quoted me £70 per tyre, online the cheapest I saw was £55 per tyre.

Then wonderful eBay comes along and I find a nice set of two for £86.

They are the cheapest tyres ever, but still, directionals so they still look ok and they grip really well too, better than the kuhmos I had on before. (SUNEW I think the tyres are)

Even still, £43 for a tyre is expensive when you go no money!

That's ridiculous, I had a little play with a corsa redtop one night, fast little feckers, funny how it's still registered as a 1.0 12v tho...

Good route to go down if you want a cheap track car, a redtop is only £200 so really you just gotta get it fitted properly and your off.

As for a remap, who taught you that? It's actually the opposite if you get it done properly. TDI's only smoke because the fuel delivery is the same when the turbo is spooling up as to when it's boosting full, causing the smoke until the turbo kicks in.

A remap will give you more power but also better spooling. (Even more so since i've got a decat) A bigger turbo however, longer spooling, more smoke.

As for the tyres, I got 2x 225/40/18's for £86 delivered, good price I thought.

Your the one with the corsa!!!

It's the 115 version i've got, 6 speed but the same PD engine as what's used in the 130/150 version except smaller injectors and a smaller turbo.

So tuning is quite easy with these engines, will be a while before anything is done though, probably a quick remap to about 150bhp will keep me happy till I get the funds to waste on it....

Either that or sell it on for a 130, purely because I grudge in having to pay £112.50 to tax when the exact same engines pay £66.50 as long as their 51 plates and above.

Figured I'd upload a picture as I always get annoyed when I check this thread, only to find no one uploads pictures any more...So i'll try and start it off.

Haven't done much to it lately, messed around with the front grill and badges after I removed them from the rear. Gunna do it again soon but with a nice shiny looking black, the front end will get sprayed in the next 6 months anyway, lots of stone chips.

I used the innotech turbo cleaner kit on it, as I was having a few flat spots and problems with the VNT actuator sticking on once warmed up and doing about 80. This would cause it to go into limp mode until the car is restarted. These cars are prone to suity turbos causing this so I wasn't too fussed. I done it once (though a bit shittily) which helped the problem but it still happens every now and again. Though the flat spots went, so hopefully the second run through will finish the job.

Had to get two front tyres for it as well, why did I buy a car with big wheels?!?!?

Looks and sounds nice

The first thing I thought was that it's too high, i'm on the same boat, needing lowering springs but gotta wait until I get some money behind me, remap and lowering springs shall put a smile on my face.

I think it jumped on the fail boat.

I don't understand the Prius much either, I think a decent powered diesel is the way to go, lot's of torque and power while still having brilliant economy. VW are using a 1.6TDI engine which has just over 100bhp and can get 74mpg combined, what does the prius get, 65?

It's a great concept an all, but for the money and the complete lack of power it seems a little pointless. Whenever I think of one I just remember the Top gear episode (Or 5th gear) Where they made a new M3 drive behind a prius going as fast as it could and it got better fuel consumption. Bit of an extreme example but we'd all be much better off driving mega fast cars, honestly.

The A team and the Expendables were both great movies, just for their action i'd say.

Inception was a fantastic idea and a fantastic movie.

SPOILER!!!!!

Boris, I think the beginning of the film is real, but the end is still a dream, remember the totum toppled at the start, but not at the end.

Quote from BlueFlame :It might be a dodgey CV joint by the sounds of it.

Yea, i'm thinking that or a drive shaft, either way it's not gunna be too expensive to repair, hopefully the throttle body and EGR valve is caked in crap so it idles a bit smoother, though a lot of people have the same problem and it's just a common thing with the engines.

I thought it was a bit vibratey (like on idle) when under hard accerleration, (In 1st and 2nd) then I realised, Traction control...

That sent a shiver up my spine....sounds insane.

Had my car out for the first time last night, feels great, a few odd clunks from the suspension so i'll get that checked on Wed when it's in getting serviced, will clean out the EGR valve and shit while i'm at it, just to make sure everythings sweeeeet.

Is that a really bad colour match or does the car need a really good polish?

I work in a cafe full time at the moment, money isn't too bad but I don't get a new car every month, just one every few months... Though I only kept selling cars because I was bored of them and made a little money in between..

Though i'm keeping this one for a while, i've been after a GT TDI 110 for ages now because I couldn't afford the 115 or 130, then this little baby came along and I threw everything at it, sold my current Golf mega cheap to get rid of it, cleared the bank and now I have £5 to my name and I still have to tax it (£112.75 for 6 months)

So, just brought it home, got mum to drive it since I don't have insurance, looked sweet, can't wait till I get it on the road (Have to wait about a week because the plates are being changed, thus I have no logbook and can't tax the bastard!)
