Something like that, yes... Microsoft basically pays the VAT if you're buying one of their products of over € 30.00 - but as Stefan said you're not eligible because you don't live in Germany...

Quote from -NightFly- :Well, here's the story: I was watching tv tonight, holding a remote in one hand when i suddenly felt like it wen't a bit warm. I thought that it would be my hand heating it up at first, so i put remote on the table.
After 10-15 minutes (wanted to change volume) i took remote again and it felt extremely hot, so i dropped it, was a bit suprised, probably thatswhy i spilled it. Batteries rolled out, but since i've taped them inside (i've lost cover ages ago), it seemed a bit impossible. After i took a closer look it seemed like batteries, or at least one of them, had melted through the tape. I also attached a picture of it, taken few minutes ago.
Is it possible them to burn up until it bursts into flames? I'm afraid to leave batteries on even when i leave home now .

Any ideas what may cause this?

My guess would be you forgot that the duct tape is actually conductive and the heat comes simply from the electric current discharged from the batteries...

Quote from TypeRacing :Nice find
Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone overtakes was most impressive.

Yeah, and both times he took the gamble and went for a tyre change to wet weather tyres while everyone else stayed on slicks (Spa) or inters (Silverstone) - not that impressive anymore...

Quote from morpha :Then something is wrong with your calibration

Nope, he's right... LfS' clutch is completely linear... If it's not on your end, you might have calibrated it differently or used DXTweak to shorten the virtual travel of your clutch

The first one was brilliant, after that it went downhill fast... The lowest point was probably the third, which I can only classify as gore-porn - with its close-up shots of every possible major injury... The first lived of its psychological violence, there is almost no gore in it... But it seems that in order to attract people nowadays you have to be more violent than anything else out there, the new peak in showing violence - cheap filmmaking in my book, but apparently I'm not the target group for some time now...

Quote from JustForFunRacing :As the title says: This must be a cheat - no doubt! But how is it possible to do such a time and it is saved in LFSW ?????

1:26 on BL1 / XFG...

Nope, it doesn't have to be, and it doesn't even have to be Tweak... Food for thought: I can easily do every track in under one (ok, make it two) seconds in any car, without modifying it in any way.

I don't know, back when it was "only" Tyrell, Brabham, McLaren and the lot F1 seemed to do fine too... I still know there was a Jordan team, an Arrows, a Sauber, a Minardi and many others just a few years ago, and at that time I didn't care less for them because it wasn't a BMW or a Toyota... In fact, them not being multinational corporations made them a bit more likeable, in my eyes at least...

Even in the real world, with real danger of injury and financial breakdown, there are those specialists who think qualifying did put them on the wrong end of the grid... Take those dangers away, throw in some of the typical gamer-ego and -impatience and voilà, perfect recipe for disaster...

Trulli tried to get past on the outside, fully knowing he would end up on the kerb, gambled by staying on full throttle over the kerbing and just lost (the car)... If even Alonso, who was taken out as a completely innocent bystander, can get over it, why not Trulli?

I really really like the new tyre physics, I really liked the Mazda before, now it's just wonderful... Dave, instead of taking the unreasonable setups of some aliens, have you tried recreating RL-setups and went from there?

The default setup of the corvette had a certain unrecoverable snappiness to it, but a few tweaks to steering, brakes and diff made it much better in my opinion... Also, can we really expect radial racing slicks to have a very wide limit like road tyres? I concede though that it can be better - I suspect tyre frequency, its dampening and flexing is just missing which would explain the need for those incredibly soft setups the fast guys are running...

I have a Cowon iAudio7, it has very good audio (of course depending on the earbuds or earphones you use), it can decode many different formats and it has a simply fantastic battery life (quoted almost 60 hours - I can attest it isn't much less, if at all). Both advantage and disadvantage are the firmware updates - it is good that Cowon still supports its older models, but it can take them quite long to fix bugs (they only recently remedied a bug that only randomized the first 250 titles in a playlist and discarded the rest)... Sure, it doesn't have Wifi or Bluetooth and whatnot, but who needs that anyway? The only real drawback is its screen: You can watch videos on it, but with that screensize you better don't - it's only just sufficient for the menu...

So, is everybody still busy drooling over the Corvette pics why nobody has posted them yet?

For all those who don't get into the member forums, here are two screenies:

Quote from ChiliFan :Various brush work. I use a Wacom tablet which is great for doing things like that by hand, just use the brush tool and the smudge tool for the details. Then play around with extra layers and different opacity settings.

And thanks JJ72 for explaining the various reasons for the details. You said it all in far less words than I'd have been able to.

Doesn't make him any more right I'm afraid... Look at this:

This car has a massive light source (sun) behind it, yet even a small downward angle makes it get darker to the front whereas your bonnet is uniformly lit... Your picture not only misses that massive light source, but it also has a bright light source in front of it and one behind it which should cast a shadow onto it... Come to think of it, the background should have less contrast too (as the light doesn't just make a u-turn), but maybe that's going a bit too far...

Also, this picture shows that the spray is thrown to the side even with no apparent steering on (also note how the headlamps make the bonnet appear darker even at daylight):

Again, this is not to debase your work, just suggestions to make (the next one) even better... The devil is in the details!

About 4 hours of work in total, all drawn in Photoshop, reflections remade by hand as well.

Not to diminish your work, but your previous one was better... Where does the light on the hood of the XRR come from? If it's a stationary one in front of the car, why does it shine only on the car and nowhere else? Nice touch on the spray under the car, but especially under cornering it would cover the whole side of the car, not stay neatly under it... You also would see rain (illuminated by the headlights) against the dark grass farther ahead than you showed... And lastly if the car behind has his lights on, why can't we see them through the windows even if they are tinted (which nobody in his right mind would do in a race going into the dark)...

Quote from xaotik :Why would a front wheel handbrake help in testing this situation with a RWD car?

Well, you could at least reproduce the rear diving when starting from an incline... The other situations I agree can't be reproduced...

Yeah, nice touches on the oil pressure gauges and the odometer! The look of the digital readouts is also spot on!

Just a (very minor) suggestion: At the moment the ignition symbol flashes for just a moment - could you extend that for as long as the starter is heard (maybe with a bit of flickering)? It could later be extended to being on first when ignition and starter keys get separated...

Ok, tried every test exe... All of them take a long time to start (about 3 seconds black screen), and switching between windowed and full screen also takes time (about half)...

2 seemed to be unable to go to full screen from the start, and constantly started windowed after the inevitable 3 second black screen, though after I fired up the original Z19 inbetween it suddenly worked fine...

3 works absolutely fine, no problems whatsoever with that...

And here the log of 4, also no problems:

I just tried it with W7 - I too got the flickering and when I tried to click a button on the bottom of the screen, I actually clicked the symbol in the taskbar... So it seems that LfS - although shown on top - is actually running behind all open windows... The test exe makes it even more apparent, as the overlay (all black) is shown behind all windows, and then goes to windowed mode, functioning normal from that point on...
