Fod did that back in the GT-40 times with a Ford Transit and a GT-40 Engine... and later again with a newer Transit Model. I saw pictures somewhere... but I am lazy now
For me it was Test Drive on the C-64. First at a friends home and later when I got my own C-64 I discovered Gran Prix Circuit.
I know how disappointed I was when I had the Amiga 500 and got Grand Prix Circuit for it. The Dials for Oil and Water where not working. I couldn´t believe this, because the "500" was "better" than the C-64.
But then there came Indy 500 (which I later played on the PC too... with fluid graphics!)
... I drift with them too... but don´t make noises. The drifting is not because it´s drifting, but because it´s "effective". If you have i.e. 2 boxes full of Mineral Water in the trolley it gets very heavy. It´s very ineffective to stop the trolley and pull it around a corner just to have to accellerate it again. So I try to do some kind of scandinavian flick to get it in the right position for the next 90 right, 100, 90 left etc...
If you do it right you need very low forces to get the trolley through the Supermarket. You can even do it with one hand
Reading this Thread 1st I thought... this got really off topic. But otherwise it´s for pushing more Air into the Engine... I wonder if a Supercharger on top of the Head of some people would help too. A working brain needs oxygen... so...
Please don´t hit me if you are aware of it... but if you opera the Pedals on a carpet you can lower the "Carpet Grip thingie" on the bottom side of the Pedals. It works great... so good that my chair sometimes rolls back when I brake
This was a Reliant Robin (AFAIK) and it worked very good. It really looked like a Space Shuttle starting and I couldn´t believe that it did not explode while sitting on the ground. But the Landing was not so nice because the Remote Control did not work as expected
Sorry for the non German speaking people here. I can´t find a Version with Subtitles. But even if you don´t understand it and know how Germany looks at least the Interview with the 2nd Girl could be funny. She has to paint on the map where East (O) and West (W) is
The last one managed to paint Poland inside of Germany... maybe she lives in the wrong century
I suggested that more than once... but it did not help
Maybe "others" should too in the right threads
BTW: I have made Scripts for my G25 so every Car uses the correct "Shift Method" (Paddle / Sequential / H). I try to attach it here...
Edit: For the Paddle Cars you push the Sequential Shifter for the Pitlimiter and pull it for the Handbrake. For the Sequential and H-Shifter Cars you do both with the Paddles.
Look what I discovered last week and I still can´t stop playing it.
The Game is called "Cave Story" or "Doukutsu Monogatari" (Jap. original Title). The Game itself is originally in Japanese, but someone made a Patch which translates it 100% into english. It´s very retro Graphicswise and the Sound... but also the Gameplay. Can´t remember when I played a Adventure / Platformer which was so addicting
That "Kill Bill" Ad when that Car was on fire was a bit tasteless. As I don´t understand what they say I am not sure if the Driver still sat in that Car. If this was the Case I can´t believe why nobody (of the others involved) helped him until the Rescue Team arrived (which took too much time for my taste).
I can´t tell if it works for you and even if it rotates your Screen I can´t promise that it works with PocketLFS. But if you try, let us know. Maybe others will find it usefull too
@JakG: I can understand you prefer 2003 as it´s much faster. I like the Speed of the 2003 Devices too, but as I sometimes run out of "Fuel" (Battery Power) on my WM 5.0 Device I am always happy that it remembers all my Mails, Calendar Entries and Contacts. A Mix of both would be nice, but maybe that happens with later Models when writing into the Flash Memory gets faster... maybe
Just to keep you up to date. Since we had some rainy Days here the last few Weeks I had some spare time which I dedicated to PocketLFS. Currently I am able to log all your Laptimes into a Database on the PocketPC. This is the base for a few new Features I have in my mind. But it will take some time... because the Sun is shinging again
Edit:
@b3nz0r: I thought all WM 2003 Devices support switching to Landcape mode with the Display Applet in the Settings of Windows Mobile. It seems I am wrong. If I have some spare Time I will see if I can figure out how to "trigger" it via PocketLFS. If there is a System Function which can be used maybe we have luck. But I can´t promise, sorry.
Edit again
@b3nz0r: I fear you have WM 2003 and not 2003 SE, right?
Coming back to this topic because there is no IS_NPL Packet when watching Replays and so there is no Car Name to get via Insim. The only possible way to do this is using Insim if I am right.
The more I play LFS the more I like the Synthetic Sound. Especially since the last Updates and the new Sounds they are really very good. Not because they make you shouting WOW when you hear them first, but because of the Feedback you get.
I played Test Drive Unlimited a few times and i.e. the Sound of the Corvette Z06 made me shouting WOW the first time I heard it. But while driving around with it I realized that I never knew what the Car did, if the Engine was under load or not etc.
If you would have asked me a year ago what I think is better the answer maybe would have been different. But at the current dtate I prefer the Synthesized Sound of LFS because they are really nice now. And I am sure the Sound Engine will get better over time. There are still a few things which should be "modelled" by the Sound Engine and increasing CPU Power and developing of your Devs will lead to much better Sounds, I am sure!
maybe somebody can answer me this question. Is it possible that I am blind or is the only Package holding the 3 Character Car Name a Outgauge Packet? I expected it to be included in one of the IS_SPX / IS_LAP / IS_RST Packets but it isn´t.
Can somebody open my eyes if I can´t find what is lying in front of my feet or will I have to use Outgauge to get this Information?
It´s all in German, but the Pictures and maybe the Video are for everyone. These Cars sound really nice
The most impressive Part was when the guy catched the wheel... a few Seconds later I realized that the rim is made of Carbon Fiber
Ahh yes, I remember this Film. It´s a few years back when I first saw it. The most impressive thing at this Film is the Voice of Egon Hoegen (he speaks most of the time what you should and not do) and how the Film is done. Back in the late 70s, early 80s we had a show called "Der 7. Sinn" (the seventh sense) in the TV which should teach us what to do and not to do in the traffic. Staplerfahrer Klaus is done in the same style and it´s really impressive that they got Egon Hoegen for this film... especially seeing how it ends
Here is a sample of what we had to watch back in the Old days (it was NOT a Comedy, even if it sounds like one today, it was really serious!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXGNUQEThtY
Ah and I forgot. Egon Hoegen also spoke all Vehicle / Track descriptions in Need for Speed 1 (still the best of the Series)
Trust me. A Kebap (Booth, is this correct?) is not the place to test your German Skills. You should try Turkish instead or go to a Sausage / Hendl und Haxn Booth if you want to speak German to someone who understands you
And to the Smoking Part of your Post. Even in Germany they start to ban smoking in some Places. I am not 100% sure if the Law is effective but you may only smoke in Restaurants if they have a special, completely separated Room for Smokers. This is not a bad Idea at all. Nothing against Smokers. Everybody can ruin his Body whith whatever he wants. I have friends who smoke and they always ask or wait until the others around them have finished eating. But there are other People who sit beside you while you try to enjoy your tasty Schnitzel... but you can´t because it tastes like the Marlboro Man.
If you leave this Week... then you had just bad luck. Before you came to Germany it was really hot here (at least at Saturday). And if you leave at Friday... what should I say? We get 30 Degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
If I would be evil I could say that you imported UK Weather to Germany
thank you very much for your response! Nice to hear that it runs at least for a few People. I am surprised that it runs on the HP... it has around 260MHz, is that true? What exactly do you mean with "it runs slower"? Do you have Lag (you see Data on the Screen which is "old", i.e. you switched into 4th Gear and it displays 3rd for 1 or 2 seconds until the Screen updates)? If yes, you could try a higher Update Rate in the Settings for Outgauge Data. This should produce less load on the CPU. But as you have the O2 Atom I think this will be your Primary Device for using PocketLFS
A Landscape Mode is included since I released the 1st Version. At least it should work. If you switch your PDA to Landscape / Portrait PocketLFS should adapt to the new Screen orientation immediately.
Swabian is a Dialect. Most people here in South Germany have a very strong Dialect. The best known (German) one in the World is maybe Bavarian
And I forgot in my last Post. Right at the Airport in Friedrichshafen there is a Outdoor Karting Track. I think it´s closed when it raines... although it could be serious Fun driving in the Wet
