Just read that starting post from Scawen about that delay... and I can say it´s good news for me.
Why? 1st you need balls to say that something where hundreds of people are waiting is delayed. I am sure there will be many complains (no, I did not read the whole thread now).

But it´s great to hear that the release is delayed until the Bugs are fixed and more important, that the new features we get (including the car) will be released only when they reach the high standard we all expect.

2nd: I had not thought that we get the car this year, so I was really surprised that we should get it this week. Because of that I really have no problem waiting longer for something I did not expect to get before Q1 / Q1 2009.


So, thanks for delaying the Update and the Scirocco until it´s perfect. You do it better than most of the big companies where we all are playing REAL Beta testers (sadly you never find that on the Box!). Here, we play a Alpha which has a higher standard of quality than most released, boxed Products which claim they are finished

OK, I searched through nearly all my Racing and Rallying Books and I found it. I was sure that I had seen a Photo from it in one of my Books or maybe in the Internet. But I can´t find it. So there´s only the Drawing... which looks quite funny

In Group B (I am not sure, but I think it was Stig Blomqvist and his co) they lost the front right wheel of their Quattro. So the Co sat on the Rear Spoiler to get a bit more weight on the back. There was even a comic... but it´s late and I am too lazy to search for pictures. But I am sure somebody else knows the details better than me ;-)

I think the 7600GT is a good choice, but it depends on what Hardware you have. I upgraded some months ago from a 5700 to a 7600GT. But I have a Pentium IV 2,8GHz and only AGP. It speeded up things dramatically (LFS not much, because it´s relying more on CPU than the GPU), but other Games which where not playable before are running very good now (the time I upgraded I played Prey, which was not possible on the 5700).

So if you have a old System like me and want to get the best out of it a Upgrade to a 7600GT seems to be the best choice if you don´t want or can not invest into a completely new System. I think the 7600GT in combination with my P4 is the best I can get now. I don´t think that a faster GPU will speed things up much more on my old, slow system.

I can´t watch that race... I will have to use LFS Remote. The Picture has like 0.5 FPS. But the Sound is OK

Best exercise: Thinking. You should do it all the day... it improves your Brain ability so much, you wouldn´t believe it. It´s nearly insane. Never stop thinking, it´s so important.

Just look around how many no Brainers are running up and down on the streets. They just forgot to think some time and now look how stupid they are today :->

I can just copy Krane. It´s the best you can do if your "Missus" is using it too. Create a Shortcut and she can do Drag & Drop. I create these type of "Links" to FTP Servers in E-Mails in the Company too because most people today do not even know what FTP is. And when they click on something and use the Windows Explorer they are just happy. They do not have to know what´s happening in the Background.

And don´t forget: If you want ultimate Realism in Multiplayer, watch out for Vatsim. Just look at the "Visual Display" in the Menu on the left or on Vataware. There you can see what´s going on in the virtual Sky. It´s really impressive what you can do there.

Oh and it doesn´t matter if you have MS FS or X-Plane... they all are flying together and love each other :->

Maybe they just use the "Search" Button. A thing many do not. But I don´t want to hijack that thread. Sorry for Off Topic

I saw him several times on the European Truck Grand Prix. He has a Tow Truck and Heavy Load Company. He was always good for some nice show (Burnouts, Drifts) but when he's racing he knows no mercy

In one year when the Truck GP Race on Sunday was cancelled because of Fog on the Nurburgring (you could not see the Track from the Grandstands) the fans where very frustrated. He then did a massive Burnout in the Pits. The Tarmac got that hot, that it dissolved. He said, when I can't kill a set of tires in the Race at least the Fans should have a bit from it because of the cancelled race.

I use the "Real Life" Values. But it annoys me to stop the Game, go to the Profiler and set the new Lock whenever I change a car. I suggested several Times that LFS should do that, like Richard Burns Rallye did that on the PS2 with the DFP. But I never got heard and I think that it will never be implemented.

Dosn´t really work for me (see the ´ in don´t). It´s the Char we use in Germany, but on that page they use ' which is odd to type here.
On a German Site when I did a test I got 565 Characters per minute. I don´t know how much Words that are in English
But in this Race I suck... I hate that '... I would rather use the ´instead :-)

I use a Hauppauge TV Card from Stone Age... I think I purchased it back when i had a Pentium 60MHz and it still works (the Card) :-)

For displaying / watching TV and PS2 Pictures I use DScaler. It has superiour Video Quality and a Latency of 1 Frame if you don´t mess around with the Settings too badly.

Hmmm, strange. I did not change anything in the Logitech Profiler which should affect the Shifter.
And in the Controls I use the Settings I have posted. Since the Shift Up / Shift Down / Gear # is controlled by the Scripts I don´t see why it doesn´t work for you. I am very sorry

Edit: Maybe my Button # is different to yours because I have plugged in some other USB Gaming Devices (Joysticks and Gamepads). In that case it seems that my Scripts are worthless.

The wheel set to 720 and 1.00 is better, you are right. Because in LFS there is currently no Car supporting 900 Degrees. I am just too lazy do adjust it to 720

I only altered 3 of the Scripts since all the "Car" Scripts call the sequential, paddle and road Scripts.
I will explain the Scripts and what they do (not much, but maybe it helps what to do when driving with them the 1st time).

paddle.lfd

• Put your H-Shifter in sequential Mode please.
  
• Left Paddle: Shift down
  
• Right Paddle: Shift up
  
• Push Shifter forward: Pit Limiter
  
• Pull Shifter backwards: Handbrake
  

road.lfs

• Put your H-Shifter into H-Shifter Mode please.
  
• Shifter: Shifts
  
• Left Paddle: Pit Limiter
  
• Right Paddle: Handbrake
  

sequential.lfs

• Put your H-Shifter in sequential Mode please.
  
• Left Paddle: Pit Limiter
  
• Right Paddle: Handbrake
  
• Push Shifter forward: Shift Down
  
• Pull Shifter backwards: Shift Up
  

My Settings in the Profiler and LFS (just for Information, do what you think is best for you):
