I guess he disabled the damage modelling for his 4.5 years old daughter?

Quote from senn :as soon as he said he took a paint depth gauge to inspect the car before he signed off i knew this guy had a problem. I'd take that Cossie over his fwd astra anyday.

That´s exactly what I thought too.
And imagine all that cleaning and checking... then you take it out for a ride, park in a parking lot and then the door of the car beside yours is opening... *smack*

I guess this is one of the guys who has more fun cleaning and working on his car than driving it. At least I would not have fun driving it after cleaning all these details. It would become dirty again! So you either have a clean car or fun driving it. I don´t think that both is possible here. I clean my car too and I love it when it shines and all... but there are limits. And I love to drive it more than cleaning it ;-)
Easy to "fix"...

I think you have new shoes or something like that
But it can easily be fixed in 2 ways:

1. Take it like a man and especially when it´s dark watch closely and put your finger very slow on the metal. The lightning striking you is "harder" then and it looks quite cool!

2. Open your door and get your hand on something with Metal. In my car it´s the door handle. If it is made of plastic in your car, grab the metal of the door and THEN put the foot down. Nothing will happen then. The electricity still goes through your body, but you will not notice it.

Remembered when grabbing the door fast it doesn´t hurt as much? The slower you do it, the harder the strike is, but the cooler it looks :-) If you use the "grab some metal before putting the foot down to exit the car" method you won´t get that nice visual effects, but it will solve you problem

Quote from Supaheli :we are talking about the old nurburgring not the new gp track

And he was talking about the length of the old Nürburgring in the 1st place. It´s 20,832km long as he said. Evidence? http://20832.com/

Great Video. Especially at 11:14 where Walter Roehrl (if it´s 82 it should be him in the Opel Ascona 400) is waving his hand while driving sideways
In his books he wrote several times that especially before the crazy group B cars started, he had plenty of time watching the crowd and waving to friends while driving a rally.

I am sure Sir, that this cat is a dog.

If not... which race is this? Never saw a cat with such a mouth (or how you spell it in english).

Quote from vitali.88 :Hi guys,
I hard HJ Stuck talking about left foot braking the Quattro to keep the boost pressure up in the turbo in the corners. Has anyone tried this in a real vehicle? It seems to be simulated in LFS, but you have to press the throttle all the way to get the turbo pressure to rise; is this realistic?
Thanks!

It worked in older Turbo Cars in RL. But the "newer" ones, especially with E-Gas (electronic throttle valve) don´t like it. If you drive WOT and touch the Brake the throttle is closed immediately. But it´s nice (not really) to see (while still standing on the right pedal) how long these Turbos need to spool up again

AFAIR I had to stay on the full throttle, otherwise you would lose too much Boost. But maybe this differs from car to car.

I mentioned something similar several times. In Richard Burns Rallye for the PS2 they did just apply max. Force when max. Steering wheel lock was reached (the same like the Profiler does if you set a Limit in Windows). The G25 does not have a mechanical lock, so the only possible way for the Profiler and for LFS is and would be to apply maximum Force if you reach i.e. 270° or 540°, whatever° (depends on which car you are). Sadly this is still not implemented which makes me sad. Switching to the Profiler and setting the new lock whenever you change a car is a bit... odd

Who knows... maybe in a future patch we will get it... I don´t know, but I hope...

Just in case someone wants to know what´s going on at the virtual Sky. Visit vataware for some colourful pictures and statistics

@mrodgers: You are right with what you say. It´s strange talking to the computer. But if you look from another perspective: You are not talking to your Computer, you are actually talking to someone else sitting on his Computer. It´s like what real Pilots do too. They talk into a Microphone to someone sitting in front of a Computer / Radar screen. The people at Vatsim (or IVAO) do the same like real Pilots and Controllers. And this is why it´s taken so seriously. They all try to do it 100% like in reality, maybe that feels strange too because we are not used to it.

Vatsim is your friend. There´s all you need. No, there isn´t. You need a shitload of time to read and memorize all this. And if you have no clue about flying, navigation, how to read Approach Charts and ATC phraseology do not, I repeat DO NOT go Online!

Vatsim is like a LFS League. They take it VERY serious, so don´t go Online and drive in the wrong direction... eerrr... wrong Sim (but it´s a similar situation there too)

You should really read through the Pages at Vatsim. Maybe there´s a nice vACC in your Country. For example in Germany there is one and they offer Online Lessons for Noobs where you can learn all you need to get Online. I am sure vACCs in other Countries have similar generous people. But beware... it´s VERY time consuming. If you join them expect the same quotes you hear when somebody joins LFS: Say good bye to your social life.

Yes, as the others said. On IVAO and Vatsim all fly mixed. Even non MS Flightsims are Online (X-Plane at least). It´s just important to not use the FSX built in Online Mode. You HAVE to use IVAO or Vatsim + Squawkbox / FSInn, whatever you prefer / runs on your Setup.

Yes, and keep an Eye on the Max. FPS you set in FSX. If you set your FPS say to 60 and max out all the eye candy sliders it is possible that FSX tries to stabilise your FPS to 60 but has no ressources to draw the Graphics.
This way you have maybe a fluid FSX experience, but suffer the "green soup". Maybe you also have to tweak the FSX Config if you have a Multicore machine and are using SP2 or the Accelleration Pack. AFAIK FSX can use up to 4 Cores, but IMHO you have to tell him that he can use them.

Quote from Crashgate3 :The scenery I'm making for FS9 (and probably FSX) has an interesting approach.

That scenery is a impressive piece of art. Really... I am looking forward to it and hope you will release a FSX Version too

But talking about Approaches. Do you know any good Tutorials of how to create Approaches? I am trying to figure it out since yesterday, studying different Charts, looking at Approach Codes of the Default Airports and in the GPS... but I don´t get it.
I will still try, because my EDJA should get at least correct Approaches.

Quote from sam93 :You can have a right good laugh when playing the Wii with others. It is designed for the whole family to play. I can't see why you have to be 6 yrs old to play the console.

Just give up Sam. There is a bunch of people out there who are not child enough and not mature enough to understand that. There´s a age between (maybe 13-16?) where they have completely different interests and the drive to persuade everybody that their view of the world is the one and only. And I don´t say that I was different in that age (maybe I was, but you should never judge yourself)

Quote from RossUK :Cave Story is a great Japanese side scrolling platformer/rpg that will last you a while. Make sure you download the English patch.

You beat me on that. I can only recommend Cave Story too. I played through the whole game 3 times and there´s still something to discover. I got that game a long time ago from Pixel´s Homepage, so I did not know your Link. And by reading the Page you posted I saw that they are making a WiiWare Version... looking forward to it

Could be true. I love Inline 5 and V 8 Engines. For me there´s nothing else. And the V10 of the Viper sounds like 2 asynchronously running I5.
