On LSD: I had to joy to work with a man who took LSD once, about 30 years ago. And still suffers from psychosis caused by it. So I wouldn't generally advise taking it.
Same with shrooms. They're very hard to properly dose, as the concentration of the chemicals can vary strongly, which in turn can cause a severe psychological aftermath when ODed.
But then, I am an advocate of either allowing all kinds of drugs (which would eradicate lot's of small and big time crime at one swipe, make the consumation safer if the contents were federally controlled AND would generate a lot of income for the state, similar to tobacco taxation) or be consequent and prohibit alcohol, tobacco, coffee and chocolate too.

Creepers could always climb ladders, just as skeletons and zombies.
Trick to prevent them: have a space of one block next to the ladder all the way from bottom to top on each side, so the mobs ocasionally drop off while climbing.

I still wonder why those kind of clocks haven't caught on in sensible countries using the 24 hours timeformat. 20:36 FTW!

According to the wiki, he's right. Scart wasn't widely used outside of europe, being actually a french standard.

Quote from Klutch :by "here" he meant to usa you idiot

Did he? I suppose he could. But he also could have meant "here" as "in this forum". The difference is not in what he meant, but in how we interpreted it. I suggest you read up on theories of communication and sender-reciever-models.

Also, the word "the" is written with an lower case H (h) and a lower case E (e), not with an o.

Quote from hyntty :13.5...

Sorry, forgot to count Canada. Would be 14.5 then. But still not the majority. Also, as I was too lazy to conduct proper research, I'm not sure if asian countries and australia use SCART. But then, as asia isn't really a big market for LfS, it would only slightly alter the outcome, thus not changing the result.

Baldurs Gate 2, nothing ever comes close to it. Or the original Fallouts.
But then, you can't do much wrong with Bioware games generally (just playing thorugh Dragon age, which is awesome).

The Witcher is also one great RPG.

I did enjoy Risen also quite a lot.

I for one dislike the games bethesda has put out recently, can't bring myself to enjoy Oblivion or Fallout 3.

Or even worse, a STI!

On a more serious note: I'd get that checked. If it's an untreated infection, it could have quite sever consequences.
Someone I know got her index finger amputated because she didn't go to a doctor soon enough after a tiny scratch that got infected.

As prague is just a few kilometers away from austria, why not go there and buy a T-Mobile Simcard yourself?

The contract free prepaid model's named "Klax" here, so just ask for that and it shouldn't be a problem even if you don't speak german.

Also, I'm not sure if T-Mobile would need any personal info, but if it were so, I would not ever give it away for unknown and at best not really legal means.

Just a quick note:

As the server basically is at it's limit, payment is disabled, thus Minecraft Alpha is Free to play ATM. So if you want to try it's newest state before you buy it, now's the time: http://minecraft.net/

the ridiculous wheel radius... but then, the whole car screams "I'm a tosser" anyway, so ugly "rims" actually do fit.

Quote from AMB :Well none were hurt or died so not much, but if someone had died then it would tell you I'm a morbid, which I'm not, because.....

No one died.

In short, 'tis the internet lighten up.

Well, you said you wished somebody to get hurt or killed.

Quote from Inouva :BF2, is not so arcade, arcade arcade is Quake 3 or unreal tournament 2004/3, CSS

Bf2 have some "realism".

In the only game i buyed on steam, sadly i dont play too much, lag is a big problem...

Nah, BF is about as arcardy as UT/Quake, it just has a "I haz teh realz" wallpaper attached to it. The difference between the lightning gun, the rail gun and the Barret M82 are just cosmetical in those games.

RO and ArmA for that matter factor in bullet drop and projectile velocity (and deceleration), so sniping over long distances is more complex than a mere point & click action.

Quote from GenesisX :I think this is how many of the cars we have are, well, "made". Take the XRs for example. They ressemble the RX7 in so many ways don't they. I remember even reading about it somewhere that the in-game cars were supposed to ressemble a real car model but only with a fictional interior, and a name like XRG on it xD.

It's actually a Mitsubishi Starion with the interior of a Mitsubishi 3000GT (which Eric happened to drive back then IRC).

Quote from BlueFlame :I disagree, like most Ferrari's it looks ugly. 250 GTO, 308 and 288 are the only Ferrari's worth looking at.

After having seen the 458 in TG I would've agreed. But much like the Porsche Panamera, it looks awesome in real life, as I've seen my first 458 IRL yesterday.

Well, justasimfan. While you are right that there are a few great mods out there for rFactor, you miss a few very important points on why there isn't modding allowed for LfS at the moment:

For every halfway decent mod for rfactor, there are hundreds shitty ones. Many users, myself included, are just put down by the fact of having to search through huge databases to find a decent mod (which might still not be at the expected quality, which you don't find out until you install it)

Also it basically ruins pick-up online racing, because every server would use different mods you'd have to search for and install just to play on it. Not to mention the problem of different versions of the same mod.
Additionally you end up with tons of mods you actually don't care about just to play with your friends, which clutter up your hard drive.

And just to make things clear: I do own rFactor and enjoy some mods, but playwise if I am interested in racing, I start up LfS (allbeit not recently, due to time constraints), while rFactor is usually just on for a few minutes to toy with a new mod, never to be loaded again.

I think I have mentioned it already in this thread, but I do forgive you guys for not reading all of that:

DON'T mix up the developement speed and the frequency of updates. Just because there hasn't been a proper update in a lengthy period of time doesn't mean developement has grinded to a halt. For all we know Scawen might hack in features and fix bugs in an insane tempo, but due to the complexity LfS has reached, that might still have not led to a feature complete and thus releasable patch.

So, to keep it more simple: developement speed =/ frequency of updates

On a similar note is the recently surfacing criticism of Eric not doing any work: again, that might not be true. Perhaps he has updated most of the cars interiors and exteriors to match the Sciroccos quality, but the devs simply refuse to release them bit by bit and rather wait for it all to be complete, due to the various problems the first approach would cause, like breaking physics compatibility with previous versions, making all the setups, times and hotlaps on LFSW obsolete.
Additionally, as I deem his work to be more on the artistical site, it may very well be that he spends dozens of hours on a particular model, but can't get it up to his personal quality standards, making him start anew.

Which, in short also means: no published work of Eric =/ no work done by Eric.

Also, I think I remember Scawen saying that he wanted to have the cars have parts which can break off, which also needs much work on erics side. Those parts would need a backside then to be seen when they fell off, and the car behind those parts would also need to be modeled, which would also need a lot of research so it doesn't look generic and wrong (even with fictional cars).

so, rant over.
