create a new batch file. A file with extension .bat
Rename the smokemod exe to SmokeMod.exe

then in the batch file have
Quote :START SmokeMod.exe
START lfs.exe

Then when you open the batch file it will run both programs
Find a ready made batch file and shortcut to it with lfs icon

Personally I have the newer all black wired gamepad which has worked perfectly fine since I first plugged it in, Although for anyone that uses or has used it will know that M$ drivers are awful and have little or no deadzones which make the sticks VERY sensitive to small movements in games, especially LFS.
I could literally turn almost every corner in LFS without moving the stick very much because they were so sensitive, and this is with a brand new controller just out the packaging! So its not like its a controller I've used for years and just worn out..Though it does get worse with usage as I found with my older gamepads.
After researching and finding the XBCD drivers for the xbox gamepads, although a little tricky to run on x64 without disabling windows driver signature checking automatically on boot. But after that it makes the gamepad A LOT more usable in games.

Although this will disable the automatic config in some games that support the xbox gamepad natively.. Such as GTAIV, Dirt3 which detect the xbox gamepad and set all controls as they were on the xbox, So as long as you're not too bothered about manually assigning your controls I highly recommend using the XBCD drivers

Have the controller connected and in Device Manager uninstall it completely.
Disconnect the controller from the PC.
Restart the computer and once back on the desktop, plug in the controller and let it install Microsofts drivers for it and then see if it works?

If not, I'd recommend you try the XBCD drivers for it.. As then you'll have control over the deadzones and makes the controller a hell of a lot less sensitive to small movements of the joysticks

Quote from Zipppy :That right there is my dream rig.
Shame I'm not from the UK though.

Do you know what the ambient temperature is? I get roughly 40 degrees on idle with a similar cooler, and the ambient temperature is roughly 20-25 degrees.

My ambient ranges from 18-22*C and the cpu sits around 20 +/- 2*C.
Under typical gaming load, playing crysis or similar it barely goes above 35
Thinking of selling my system to fund college - UK only

Hey guys, going to college in September and thinking, not definite, but may sell my system in order to help fund with college etc...
I never use it to its full potential anyways

This system runs BF3 on its highest settings at 1080HD locked at 60fps
Will play Crysis and Crysis 2 at Ultra DX11 settings no problem.
Playing them means it will play every game you throw at it with amazing performance!!

Specs are as follows:

Case: Fractal Designs Arc Midi
Power Supply: Cooler Master GX-750watt
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 (USB 3.0, SATA 6GB/s, Quad CrossfireX Support)
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.6GHz stable
Memory: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz
Graphics: Asus GeForce 560Ti DirectCUII(twin fan design).. Runs at 1GHz easily!
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 500GB 7200RPM
DVDRW: LiteOn iHAS124 24x

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100 Liquid Cooler... Keeps the cpu at 20*C @ 3.6GHz idle and below 50*C at 100% load which is rare, very cool during gaming.
The cooler is running push/pull config with 4 Arctic F12 120mm fans!
Exhausting out the case through the radiator..
The front fan intake with dust filter..
Side fan intake on to graphics area
and rear exhaust keeping the whole case and system at a nice cool temp

Looking for sensible offers of what this system is worth

Just downloaded v1.4.3 and it works perfectly fine online with 0.6B
Default InSim port is 29999 so ingame type /insim 29999 and then open the alarm app.

Not sure about the startup screen, a 3rd part app might be able to do that if it bothers you
As for the different sizes... well I started it but had no time to finish it and gave up, released what I had to the public for anyone to continue..

Although, Without looking through the thread, Yep all 3 pages of it xD
I have no idea if anyone still has the latest sources as UploadFFS and Megaupload have both gone down the drain, or FBI shutdown in MU's case lol
But if you're looking for any custom sizes you'll have to find the sources and have VB6 installed to change it, You'll have to resize all the controls individually

IIRC..The sources wont update to VS2008 or VS2010..At least not without a shitload of errors and warnings
So you will need VB6 to edit the source

Do all the patches for GTA:IV.. I can run it in 1080p all maxed out, max draw distance, cars etc and still have it locked at 60fps. sure it dips down now and then but what game doesn't? And especially that GTA:IV was a disaster from the very beginning on PC.
Before I did all the patches, My rig struggled to run it even at 1024x768 on low!!

My Specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 4GHz
Asus GeForce 560Ti 1GB @ 1GHz Core, 2.2GHz(4.4GHz GDDR5 effective) Memory.
8GB 1600MHz Vengeance RAM

My old system was pretty loud, so compared to that its silent lol
But even with 4 Arctic PWM fans on it, its hardly noticable.
That's with 4 other fans and the 2 Graphics card fans

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :my current mondeo ('93, 1.6) will be replaced by another mondeo with that same engine.
sounds good, drives good.
170 hp aint shitloads, but enough to have fun, and get going quickly enough

Love the V6 sound, even at low RPM it purrs nicely and definitely pulls a lot more than the Golf.
Decent MPG from it aswell, Its used on kinda short distances to and from work and Averages 25MPG, Longer journeys on motorways and such its been as high as 37MPG

Quote from el pibe :my brother used to have a cougar like that, only that it was silver. it makes a very nice sound too.

Dad's mate has a silver one, One of the reasons I liked it.

It was all written in VB.NET using VS2008 so it should upgrade just fine, maybe a warning or two.
I have put the new version on hold because I'm just way too busy with work.. doing constant 12-14 hour nightshift and I just have no time for anything other than eating and sleeping lol.

I'm not looking for insane cooling, nor overclocking..Although it does go to 3.8GHz with the autoboost in the bios..
Just something cheap and as a better alternative to the useless stock heatsink..
I mean my room temp is around 22C and its sitting at 42C at idle/web use... although it never went over 60 when I was playing gtaiv for 30 mins or so..

If I could be bothered I'd do it again and record it lol..Although I'll say 10-12 minutes to be a bit more realistic, the hdd is not exactly top spec but its faster than my old one at least..
I will get an ssd sometime in the future but my next thing is a decent cpu cooler as the stock one that comes with the cpu is pretty useless for anything...

Recommendations for decent coolers? Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 PRO?

So far so good..
Gone from 30-40fps with 8xAA, no vsync, everything else max
to over 300fps with 16xAA, vsync and all max..
Not that it matters when my monitor is only doing 60Hz.

Currently installing Dirt3, GTAIV and I suppose Crysis 1/2 should be on my list now too

Well since I fried my old PC, actually more like the fan fried it!
(the cpu fan died... I never noticed... Crazy temps... BSOD... fried cache... DEAD!)

Well my new one is built and waiting patiently on gfx card to arrive
(built on a tight budget so its not all top quality, but it will suffice for now)

Powercool Terminator Case
Asus M5A97 + Ace 650W
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T @ 3.2GHz stock cooler
Corsair Vengence DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) @ 1600MHz
Asus GeForce GTX560Ti DirectCUII
Hitachi Deskstar 500 GB SATA

Probably change the motherboard in the future when I decide to get another graphics card... But hopefully this will be at least good enough to run modern and upcoming games without a hitch for a while

Now I can sell my 360slim to fund myself for a new wheel
Graphics card for new pc...
DavidTiger
S3 licensed
Building a new pc in time for Christmas and I have everything apart from the graphics.. I was thinking of getting a
MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr 1GB and SLi in the near future

Will be used for gaming at a resolution of either 720p or 1080p.. Since my TV doesn't support anything higher.. at least I think lol but then this old Radeon x1100 is useless... I won't be using any mega high resolutions so 560Ti should be good enough to max out most games at those resolutions..

Any recommendations for an equally priced card and with SLi/Crossfire for the future?

Specs of the new system..
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 PRO with Corsair HX 750W PSU
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T BE @ 3.2GHz
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengence 1600MHz
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 500GB + Crucial C300 64GB SSD
(Not the best hard drive but I already had it and it performed fine enough in my old system so it will do lol, SSD will speed somethings up though.)

This program is obsolete anyway, the filehost that it was on just disappeared and I no longer have the source..
I have a modified version of Rhama's limiter which includes a launch control feature.
(allows you to hold the RPM below a certain value while maintaining 100% throttle, and then releasing the clutch and giving you max power and limited slip... *Similar*to a real launch control system)..

I will create a short video showing the launch system working, as it is pretty flawless and can hold the RPM at any given number +/- 500rpm

I may or may not release it, and since it works online + the launch feature could be used as an advantage over other players who don't have it. Then I believe it would not be allowed to be release on this forum

**Rhama, All original copyrights go to you for the source and launch control to me.. Since you gave permission in your original thread for programmers to 'fix flaws and add features' I do not see any problem with this

I've been lucky with my xbox's since they've never broke or had any faults what so over
I have one of the very first old arcade models and bought a 120GB HDD for it and its still going strong. Plus now I have a 360 slim 4GB model with 2x16GB pen drives (because I refuse to pay their stupid f-ing prices for the new style hard drive even though the actual hard drive itself is the same, and using an old one in a new case may result in a console ban.. and to be honest 32GB + the 4GB in it is all I need to install a few games to them, some DLC content and some saves )

But yeah I myself believe they should give a free upgrade to any xbox owners that have this problem because its their fault it doesn't work!
Maybe even just to ones who still have a valid warranty on their console.. kinda like Logitech are doing with G25's that are broken and replaced with a G27 under warranty

Threaten to sell and buy a PS3
Works with phone companies when renewal time comes and their giving a shit deal just threaten to move to another provider and then they start offering sensible deals just to keep you as a customer
Car Instrument Cluster?
DavidTiger
S3 licensed
Looking for an instrument cluster to use with lfs (and possibly other games) that will work with symprojects rev-burner...
The average lfs car does around 7k-9k RPM so would need at least that on them.. most cars will have upto 8k anyway..
and also about 160mph or I imagine it would be easier to get a set of kph as then it would have higher speeds written on the dial

Any suggestion to what ones will work?

I personally drive with cockpit view with real mirror and clock
But I mainly cruise a lot and don't really race much since my wheel broke and I just can't drive consistent enough with the gamepad to even try to race

But even when I had my wheel I still used cockpit
