I'm not positivly sure I understand what you mean...but LFS isn't like most games in that there is never a " finished full version" there will be lots of patches becaus its still being devoloped, but they never that i know of have released somthing that isn't playable, and if that unfortuantly happens they are normaly quick to get on it.
That certainly was not/is not the case in nascar 2003...it was very mixed as to fixed setups or not, and it made for some fun racing, and two differnt types of racing..
Because they just barely got S2 out, they have been working their rear ends off, dont expect updates every week, but maybe every other month, 3 months...whatever they feel like.
Oh, and you would get a HUGE update if you upgrated to S2 :P
I dont think its a younger audiance than in Nascar 2003 thats for sure, that was split like 60/20/20, 60 being the sub 18 year olds, 20% the 18-30 year olds and 20% the older crowd, I see a much higher 18-30 year old % in LFS, and it showes in the racing, I see a lot more skill over here, and a lot more maturity. Most nascar 2003 races ended up with some young kid (12-16) going out full blast and spining out wrecking half the field and starting a huge flame war haha.
There are some places that you can cut and not get suspension damage ( like the one i showed on the blackwood rally track) or blackwood in the esses with the tires, you can slide right through them, the reward is normaly higher than the risk so people do it, and its ratherannoying
What really helped my braking was making my brake pedal 2 stage, put a real stiff spring in for the last 10-15% so i know where exactly i am in the range, im not sure if anyone makes pedals like that though..
Now thats an idea!! It ties into reality and it solves our problem (although sniping the lil buggers sure would be more fun) It would still be funny to see cutters floundering everywhere with punctured tires
Personally I think the system that nascar 2003 had was nearly perfect, for every race completed at a type of track you earned points towards it, and you could go to 'high experiance' servers, and there was a LPI, which calculated how many laps on average you go between each incident, of course that is a bit unfair a times because the incident isnt always your fault, but it really taught me to just chill out and learn to have serious amounts of patients, and eventually I made it up to the high experiance levels and it made the experiance a ton better. This could be implimented in LFS with a little modification, where you have to earn a certain amount of credits for each car to be able to go to the servers that required it, but you could still use all the cars you wanted in the open servers, so you get the best of both worlds.
But beyond that, currently there are a lot of people getting into LFS for the first time, just like when S1 came out, so there are goning to be a much larger amount of incidents than the later days of S1, but it'll only get better guys, trust me, in the mean time have patients and be carefull out there, and try not to let things boil over to the point where its not fun anymore. I try to hang out for a lap or two and let everyone get plenty far enough apart that eventually my speed will overcome them and i'll finish in the same spot as I would if I plowed through them in the begining
Its been often suggested, and I would put money on the fact you will see this feature in the future, maybe in finished S2 maybe later, but eventually definatly.
As far as I can tell, its a fwd based car with some select awd models with a 2.6L turbocharged 145hp motor (which is a little low for a 2.6l turbo car but ot :P)
Yeah i fear it would really take away some of its simulation shine, but a concept car wouldnt be totaly out of line, somthing that could be real but is just the LFS devs dream car, if they dont already have it in lfs
