Quote from imthebestracerthereis :Here's something I made quick
It's called DNC-LYT (DoNotCopy-Layout)

Open the settings.ini, and change whats needed. When started, try Shift-U and see that you cant save the layout!

Come to the server "Steal this layout!" and try it out!

Feedback

Send the button on a 50ms or so timer. It'll cause a bit of lag, but only for those who try and save it

Quote from oscarhardwick :IMO, unstable and slidy= huge fun......if someone was ramming me just to get me scared of them, all i would end up doing is thinking... "wow, that guys a massive prick, maybe he will crash, that'll give me a laugh"

I retract my earlier statement

Quote from mythdat :Heh, it's funny every time this poll comes up FO8 wins but nobody ever drives it online

Anyway, FO8

I think FO8 is more of a league car than a public one. It is a brilliant drive, but not really suited to pick-up racing IMO

Depending on dates, I probably won't be able to go. All of July and half of August is taken up for me

Other than that, the new plan sounds pretty good, hope I can make it

Agreed. I thought kartors had 7 balls? I am not fearing your non-extensive ball collections

FBM or FO8 for me. FBM is lovely around South City, and FO8 is brilliant around Blackwood or Westhill

Here's the thread - http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=48376

My reply is here - http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=934727#post934727

(It wasn't that much of a serious suggestion, but with some modifications from somebody who knows what they're doing, it could work)

Did you even read the two posts linked to above you? Scawen said they are working on some things we know (pretty much just the Scirocco), and things we don't. Of course it hasn't taken 6 months to release a car, especially since the car was up and running at the Leipzig Games Convention at the end of August last year.

You complain about people giving silly answers, but maybe they are silly questions? Nobody here knows when the patch will be released, so there is absolutely no point in asking. Of course you're going to get a silly answer if you do

What evidence is there to suggest they gave it up? All LFS websites are still up, the master server is accepting connections and LFS World is still tracking stats. If they'd given up, would they still be forking out to keep these services up and running

(And BTW, my laptop isn't little. 17.5" )

I don't think you can get into BIOS without at least CPU, RAM and GPU. Mine just gives beep codes if I start it without the CPU...

Also, how did you manage to stick a Q6600 on the wrong way...They have a corner cut off for idiot-proof installation

Quote from S14 DRIFT :All of my friends call me Jay so F.U

Yes I'm S14 Daft.

FMB only has like 200bhp or something and with slick tyres it'd take alot of stick to move them. Apart from 1st and midrange 2nd you couldn't really do it.

*Cough* It's FBM. And it doesn't have traction control :shhh:

RSC is still down? Haven't checked it in ages

If you're having issues in LFS too, maybe you should reinstall the logitech drivers. Disable wheel centering, and set FFB force to 105%, and the other 2 FFB options to 0%. That's the setup I use in all sims and wheel-able games, and it works across the board for me, including rFactor

If you purchased a G25 and rFactor, why are you asking for support here as a demo user? Just curious, I'm not actually flaming you

I had this problem in TDU before, FFB only worked on the left side, even though it worked fine in every other game. After I reinstalled Windows, my drivers and TDU, it was working again. I'm not sure which was the problem though

Also, before you go ripping crap out of the wheel, have you tried it in another game? Maybe it's just rFactor playing up

Quote from Ori :- One of the most interesting aspects in engineering to me are the moving wings. The developers could bring in cars (preferably prototypes), on which, while braking, the wings rise / move up. They could move paralel to the brakes.

Hopefully when our car-base expands (eventually...), we'll have something like a Veyron, that has this feature. A few of the lambos have it too AFAIK.

Quote from Ori :- Since LFS is one of the very few makings that can be titled "simulation" and features aerodynamics-effects, it would be interesting to see them beeing used on tracks where, with the necessary downforce, u could drive upside down. Such tracks could have a special category (for example "fun tracks") including pipes.

There was a thread on this before, but it was decided that cars can't drive upside down without some serious modifications (see my, frankly, excellent suggestion on this ), and so it wouldn't work in LFS. Also, the realism-police are going to get you for mentioning fun in your post

Quote from Ori :- A Wind Tunnel. :heyjoeani

We have something similar to this, on the GTR/SS cars. In the downforce settings, you can simulate the downforce generated by a given angle at a given speed.

Quote from Ori :- 8-track. An 8-track would make LFS even more lovely. Looking at the great community it actually is almost oligatory.

You can make 8-tracks easily in the autocross editor, unless you mean something the size of the oval?

Quote from Ori :- 90°-banked-turns. Something certainly not needed bad but tracks with sharp corners beeing driven with full throttle would grant fun. Optionally 90°-banked ovals.

As much as I agree that this would be fun, apparently "fun" isn't allowed in this game...

Quote from Ori :- In a far future, when we will be driving LFS S80 with vr-devices, the developers could bring in a feature allowing you to create your own car.

Although the devs haven't actually confirmed this, it is widely rumoured (or maybe hoped would be a better word ) that the track and car editing tools will be released along with the final S2/S3 version.

Quote from G!NhO :same as you need grip to win a race.

Not necessarily, you could drift around the track and still win if you were good enough

(Likewise, if your opponents were crap enough, you could win a drift-dorito-battle-twin-arab-combo without actually drifting :razz
