Good call, i'm in the same boat. No real time for league-racing right now, but pick-up races and the bf1 are driving me insane. Perhaps all we need is a well-policed/pw'ed server that limits combinations, maybe a different car-class/track every few days.

That's pretty much it, R4ptor, although when I was referring to 'fuel burn' I meant the percentage of fuel burnt for one lap. It would have a figure on the F12 menu as soon as you left the pits, and perhaps in the setup screen.

This might be similar to the information entry box in a setup that a few of us have requested. So maybe that is all we need, and then you could just enter this sort of stuff manually.

It would still be a nice feature I think, and to me it is noticeable in its absense. It kinda feels like it just should remember the fuel burn when you have done more than 5 laps at a place. I'm not keen on it telling me '5 laps of fuel', tho. I'd prefer either a percentage or volume.

Nope, it doesn't, but one lap isn't very accurate, is it? Every other aspect of a car's setup is tied to each track; dampers, gearing, etc. Why not fuel burn?

Thanks, didn't know that site existed.

Still, it would be much more convenient to have the information right in front of you, and I don't think it would be that hard to do Hopefully one day...
Fuel usage tied to setup and track

Hi, first of all, thanks to Hyperactive for keeping the log more or less up to date, makes it a hell of a lot easier to see if things have been suggested or not. I'm pretty sure this hasn't...

When ever I go to a track, i completely forget how much fuel I need per lap. Would it be possible to locally 'tie' average fuel usage to a setup, (edit: or, if that's a headache, an average for that car?) so that it's displayed in the F12 menu and/or in the pits?

Sure, I could write it down on a piece of paper, but I'd need another piece of paper to remind me where I put the original bit... I think you can see my problem :cyclops:

thanks, goop.

Cars replaced with lag-counters (replay)

Hi,

This happened yesterday. Racing on a server, ping of around 200, last couple of laps, everyone's car disappears and is replaced by stationary lag counters. They counted up to 150ish before i manually disconnected. In that time there was never any problem with the wee lag bar things down the bottom, and I even chatted to one of the lag counters.

I had messages blocked, but looking at the replay you can see that no one has lost their ability to communicate. Bit of a shame really.

Replay - it's is a bit dodgy, you have been warned

Also, this happened during the time that the LFS sites were down, altho I have raced since then with no issues. Patch U.

Some thoughts on blocking? (edit: to clarify, blocking in the sense that you may move to cover your line once)

It seems that is considered 'gentlemanly' (go easy Becky, it's just an expression) to let a faster driver thru.

I say, to hell with that - if you want my place then you will have to fight for it.

If I am faster than someone, the last thing I would want them to do is deliberately relinquish the spot that is rightfully theirs...

I wouldn't mind LFS World so much if it wasn't so terribly sloooooooo...

[insert nap]

...w It really annoys me, I just avoid the place.

Quote from Frankmd :I just have to confirm what is written up there, SHIFT + '-' blocks all messages, including results, (dis)connections, pitstops etc.

Brilliant, had no idea, thanks

Good to see you're still about ShannonN... I 'ed as well regarding official sponsorship... but I have no idea of the ins and outs, so no comment.

Like most, I'm over the BF1. I find it close to zero-fun at Blackwood, and it's far more irritating than it is rewarding dodging spinners, late-braking heroes and oblivious backmarkers. Would be good in a league with others that know the combination, but honestly... I think it's just too much car for me

GTRs and LXes please

Since S2, I've really enjoyed the LX6. In S1 I was terrible in it, the only way I could drive it was to have a set with a heap of understeer.

S2, as long as the set is fairly neutral, I find it to be great fun - just gotta keep the bugger balanced and be smooth... oh, and to be always ready with a wristful of oppy lock

I'm utterly useless at setting up a car beyond the basics, maybe you could try the manual if you haven't already It has Bob Smith's setup guide, haven't read it myself, but I've heard that it's fairly comprehensive.

I'll take your bet His first post says that he is 16...

Like has been said, if you want it, go and work for it. Or, if you're lucky, maybe someone who is sick of the game will see this thread and pass over their unlock/racername.

I quit yesterday... 36 hours without a smoke, oh well... they say the first three years are the hardest, eh?

I really do want to quit. My health is gradually turning to shit, and I've promised myself some new techie bits after three months. Will keep ewes posted

I don't need it now... but the server side OPTION for free starts would be nice for league races/ private servers... Open server would be chaos (insta-speccy if they break the start maybe ).

Quote from So_VipeR_oS :why the flipping heck would you do that anyway, thats just silly

and if i remember correctly, the games speed limit, is calculated on the wheel rotations, without TC you spin the wheels faster than the speed limit allows, giving you the penalty

Nah, I really don't think so. I've fried many a tyre in pits without a single penalty.

only in rain or when the pit-limiter is engaged...

edit: one problem with the BF1 I'm having is cockpit-clipping when I look left/right. 1st person view, FOV is 91
