that's strange... with a team name like that *cough*, i would have thought your exploits and lap times would be widely known, and there would be no need for chest-beating?
I wish I had a small 'g'. The capital makes me feel self-important and i reckon it just looks better, more symmetrical... i wonder sometimes if I've spent too much time thinking about this
I even pm'ed Vic about it some time ago (much to his annoyance, I'm sure)... but it wasn't (easily) do-able :sadbanana
I tried CSR in the FOX last night, at a track I know far too well... Blackwood I found it difficult to tell what the dif was doing (out of turn one, in particular); the fidelity was lacking and although I have the two mixed quite well, it felt like I was handicapping myself by muffling the important bits.
I turned it off pretty quickly. Perhaps if the FOX samples were more convincing, I might give it more of a go... :cyclops:
the sounds are a big part of what gives me 'the feel' for the car, for the limit... maybe i rely on it more than most ?
For eg.
Visuals: 40
FFB: 30
Sound: 30
I know I couldn't drive a decent time without sound; i honestly wouldn't weight it much less than visuals bearing in mind I'm referring to feeling the limit, not navigation
I have a decent speaker setup, but I find I'm quicker, I drive more consistently, and I can concetrate better when I've got headphones on... I seem to pick up on subtleties better than with the speakers, and they evidently make a difference :cyclops:
I haven't tried CSR tho, so maybe this is off-topic.
The left LED comes on when there's power, the right LED comes on when it's being used by a game.
@mrodgers - yeah, perhaps it is a bit harsh, it 'lasted' for two years My main gripe (i could live with/work around the pedals) was the wheel itself losing calibration when it was turned quickly, it made counter-steering nearly impossible. I thought about selling it, but this is much more gratifying.
Oh, and you're welcome to it, but you'll have to fight off all the other fat, bald ugly dudes out there... honey is to bees as my bin is to a bum
I certainly think it is I'm very much an open-wheel driver, too. I SLASHED my pb at BLGP w/FOX last night by a whopping *cough* .03! ... a 1:07.78 (with a draft). That's using the sequential paddles.
I was having a lot of irritating calibration problems with the MOMO tho, so the purchase was a bit of a no-brainer for me.
Totally agree, I'm picking up discrepencies and slight bumps in the track surface that I never knew were there This is my third wheel (Thrustmaster Ferrari, Logi Momo) and it blows me away how good and smooth it is - I'm breaking PBs all over the place, and I'm finding I have a lot more confidence in the open wheelers, particularly the FO8:lovies3d:
I'm not having any issues with the pedals, tho, besides having to relearn how to brake. And, tbh, the shifter is fine for my purposes. Ok, so it's a little dinky, but it does the trick :cyclops:
Lovely wheel, great subtlety in the FFB. The shifter seems ok too; like others, not fussed on the clicking, or on the 'push-down' bit but no biggie. Pedals are great, tho heel-toeing is a bastard huh!
this poll makes no sense to me either. I like racing, and the best racing for me is pushing at 10/10ths chasing (or being chased)... usually, this results in good lap times (good for me, anyhow).
I don't get it either Didn't you get enough 'personal learning and understanding' from the last poll?
yeah, it's OK to unlap yourself, imo... just be very, very careful
I think a better policy is to find some clean air if possible, and warm up before the next race by yourself. If you come across someone a lap up, back off and give them and yourself some room.
I can't concentrate when the server is being spammed up over an incident 5 laps earlier; when someone is going on, and on.... and ON, I just block messages
On public servers, I just don't see the point in getting so worked up... no good for your blood pressure either mate :cyclops:
