Depends what the series is about and what that technology is.
If the series is a character/competitor based entertainment series like Nascar then unless the technology actively reduces cost and complication than it's totally and utter pointless.
If the series is one that rewards technical excellence then it should be encouraged.
however where sports like F1 get in the shit is it's presented as
1. Driver based entertainment motorsport
when in reality it is
2. Engineer based technological sport.
So it's all a bit complex to find workable solution because motorsport is so diverse and complicated. You have spectator based motorsports F1/BTCC/NASCAR and then have competitor based motorsports like karting etc... How anyone can figure out how to meet the demands of those involved I do not know.
Copyright has always been ridiculous and has always been a one-way path to the destruction of the free movement of ideas. It's illegal in a pub to pick up a guitar and sing your favourite song if the pub isn't licensed. It's completely mental.
Copyright was introduced to give the 'artist' a brief monopoly over their idea. Any longer than a brief monopoly then you start seeing copyrights traded and suddenly massive corporations own knowledge.
It's so mental Sutton images threatened ScarbsF1 because he deep linked... yes LINKED to their image from the F1 website on his twitter page.
People have been warning for many years about this, and silly little naive musicians/artists/film makers and now having to reap what they sow. Morons... all of em
Well that's kind of the point. That's the simplest calculation you do with a kart's geometry. Once you factor in the mystery of tyre and chassis flex and you can imagine the scale of work.
What exactly do you mean by 'what we're up to'? What difference would it make to you as a free person anyway? And then how do you distinguish what full time is and what 'hobby' is? People say some odd things on here.
Not sure why you have to 'trust' the developers and not sure what you mean by 'fooled'. LFS fulfilled all the obligations required by them in the contract between you and them when you purchased S2. I would love to know why you have to trust the developers unless we were real investors who owned the business... which we are not
I think people have to fooled themselves more than anything. Rather than appreciating the fact LFS is still an incredible sim and we are fortunate enough that there are guys in the world who are dedicated to accurately simulating a vehicle and making it available at a more than reasonable price (F1 teams spend millions for what we can get for 20 quid), people seem to think they are married to developers of sims. It happens in all of them - netkar, iRacing etc... Get a grip!
I had the fortunate pleasure of getting the inside view of another sim in development, and it's taking a good 5 years of hard work to get it anywhere near close to some sort of release. We all know fine well when the update is released it's going to be brilliant. Maybe it'll take 2 years... so what.
I think he'll be pretty decent. His blog is one of the best, and in general his content is top notch. He'll suit the radio which can have a bit more detail, especially in FP
