You mean "There should be a download code in every box in officialy supported live countries"

I also have uk account.

Well, so far confirmed non-live countries not getting the codes are:

Poland (se and lce), Southern Africa (se and lce), Greece (se and lce).

I wouldn't be suprised if Estonia didn't get it too. Remember that no launch dlc (- 30 tracks, -10 cars), no vip membership (-10 cars, -gifts from storefront).

and che responce on twitter: http://twitter.com/Turn10Studios
@kamkordrift True. It is downloaded via Xbox LIVE, so unfortunately, we could not support regions that do not have LIVE.

I don't know. You tell me. All I know is that non-live countries do not get code for launch day dlc: benchmark ring + snake tracks, and for vip membership.

http://www.xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_Live

Estonia is not listed there, that's why I've asked. And if you don't have official xbox live support then I'd like to know if you get codes in your country or not. edit: Is forza motorsport 3 in your country localised, or is it imported from uk?

How do you register your xbox live account, to estonia region or to uk/us/japan region?

Although i think me picking it up would be wiser >_> Since the shop is across the street from my uni.

Xbox Live isn't officially supported in Estonia, or is it?

Are Estonian copies getting launch dlc code(se and lce) and vip code(lce)?

Quote from danowat :Funny how piracy has become acceptable.

I always found it funny that on lfsforum people who were playing lfs ilegally were consirered super bad, but for some reason stealing and writing about stealing other media than lfs, is commonly accepted and normal.

Hehehe

I have posted mine on their site. Just was interested to see what kind of songs lfs forum members will post there. That's why I've posted my list here.

02 Stereophonics - Bank Holiday Monday
03 The Automatic - Steve McQueen
04 Hard Fi - Living For The Weekend
05 The Sunshine Underground - Put You In Your Place
06 Kasabian - Lost Souls Forever
07 Muse - Plug in
08 Foo Fighters - No Way Back

Btw, I've bought MSFF.. Should have it home tommorow. I saw this vid and got hyped: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi7KKMwt7d4 (he uses abs and tcs).

I have probably made a big mistake by getting this wheel, but we will see. I will make short review tommorow, comparing it to.... g25.

Anyone has had any experience with it, with forza 3? Anything I should know about, specific settings?

Quote from Crommi :Wait what, setup options define the amount of fun you have in online racing sim? Well, somebody obviously forgot to show the memo to all those people racing and having fun in other sims with more realistic setup options or in fixed setup leagues.

Yes it will make things much less fun to me. For the reason I've said before, now ie. XRT can be a: street car, race car, rallycross car, drift car. If the setup options get limited it will only be a street car. Which will mean - less ways of having fun with that car in live for speed. It doesn't have anything to do with fixed setup leagues, you can have 4 leagues - street fixed, race fixed, rallycross fixed, drift fixed. If you take away the tuning, you are left with one. That's not taking the fun away? Less features = more fun?

Quote from Crommi :What's your take on Scirocco, I've been under the impression that it will have more realistic setup options which do not allow you to chance everything in fine detail. Does that make it the enemy of fun?

I don't care much for Scirocco, another boring fwd car. And yes making setup much more limited will make it even less fun to me. Because there will be less ways of having fun with the car. I'd rather have the scirocco in street spec, race spec and rallycross spec. How about you?

Quote from Gekkibi :In my opinion it would be better that we are not allowed to adjust so many things in a road car. More boring to race? I think not. More difficult to drift after that? Yes.

That would kill lfs completely. The fun would be gone (yes it's about fun too, both in lfs and real life). What I find fun about lfs most is the fact that street cars can either be: street cars, rallycross cars, race cars, drift cars - you name it. Taking that away.. Would do no good for sales, and fun aspect.

If they make it like Byku said, both camps will be happy.

Well, so many have said it, but no one has pasted a quote. Great isn't it? Only thing I remember is Scawen saying still on rsc lfs forum that steering lock was reduced because only london cabs have more. Maybe he didn't realise at that time that steering lock could be easily increased in real life?

And you do realise we don't drive stock cars in lfs? Extreme brake tuning, suspension tuning, toe and camber tuning, transmission tuning and more.

And what about the fact that we can have unrealistically small steering lock in street cars by reducing it in setup/tuning? What street car has so little steering lock?

The only reason I'm keeping the argument going is because lfs physics are spot on. It's quite an achievements to have a game in which drifting is realistic. It's so good it made transition to real life easier. It's simply a pity lfs drifting potential is reduced on purpouse.

It will be easier if you say that you simply ran out of logical arguments. "Because Scawen said so" - paste a quote, and a quote where he says it is absolutely permament.

And all this comes from a guy who spends all his time posting, driven 25 races in 6421 mileage. What have you been doing all this time in purists "racing simulator"?

To me it seems you don't want it, because you don't want it, for reason that you don't want it. People against steering lock ran out of proper arguments and were left with only one eventually.. "This is online racing simulator". And physics optimised for 36 degrees? Are you kidding me Shadowww? Increase it trough memhack, and it has the same effect as it has in real life.

Too bad big part of lfs community is drifting community. Drifting is a big part of live for speed, learn to live with it.

And if you go that extreme then drifting is sort of a racing sport. In competitions, in tsuiso part, a car behind chases the leader. The leader must lose distance from chaser. And chaser must stay close (keep up) to the leader or pass him (which when clean can result in even 10:0). Sounds like kind of racing to me.

Quote from PedraumF :I defend the teory that LFS is a pure racing simulator. So, you don't have any reason to put 48° steering like in D1 cars...

Oh really? Insteed of getting support for drifting, which is a motorsport, we get support for cruising. Ofcourse someone will soon reply saying that cruising support is pure racing related.

And since the thread was bumped. I will post some nice pics (not mine):

And here is my previous car - e30, close to the full stock steering lock:

Quote from jibber :Gah! You have no idea how hard i fought for that time...

Will try to improve it, but i'll probably struggle and eventually give up!

What a lack of motivation. :P Come on guys, pick up the pace. Let's have some challenge!! Just joking since I'm not good enough to compete with top timers in leaderboards, so I might as well brag among friends list leaderboard.

Btw, try doing fast times in audi r8, then coming back to ferrari. It will be easier to get a good time in ferrari then.

p.s.: Guys give it a rest, don't feed the troll. Boris - take your top hobby (complaining about f3) here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/sh ... .php?t=375000&page=78

Yeah Flying Lizard is much more driftable due to it's power. Tires really stick, but when you break the traction, it goes nicely, hovewer you have to stay hard on the throttle to keep the drift going.

California is ok with clutch kicking and proper lines, but it's best on 1st and 2nd gear on the "big pavement area" close to the pits.

Takumi_lfs:

Physics are improved over fm2 definitely, and with that drifting in fm3. Also it seems there are no more sudden gains/losses of speed in drifting that could be felt in forza 2 (which made twin drifting sometimes a bit hard).

Quote from kamkorPL :Also one thing I remembered about physics. In real life in corners that are "straightway to 90 degree or sharper (hairpins, long hairpins)" I've had a problem with initiating a nice early drift entry before the apex without a handbrake. I never had a problem with it in live for speed, forza 2 or other games (as in other games it's easier to break the traction and keep the drift going). But in forza 3 demo I feel the same issue. So it's a plus for the physics.

It might be a too smooth, but i'm not sure, as the steering implementation in pad is very smooth, so that could be the reason. I've already made it better by using a guy from gtplanet advice:

Quote from Cobra_NZ :Also, the FM3 demo is very good. Make sure you guys check your game defaults settings in your XBOX360 dashboard. There are low, medium and high sensitivity settings for the controller. Changing those can have a big impact, make sure you have the setting that suits your driving and your eye to hand coordination best.

But also I've never drifted on slick tires in real life, hovewer in ferrari with street tires it's great especially on 2nd gear in the "car park/big pavement" area close the to pits.

Ofcourse it's not 100% like real life. And with so many simulators on pc, we may sometimes have bad idea of real car behaviour in mind (Jibber said something like that on previous page I think). Most important is, the feeling is there and the proper car reactions are there. I simply don't get weird car behaviour that I can feel in gt5p or rfactor drift mods, in which I must re-adjust my driving to fit the physics. Unlike in lfs, enthusia or forza 3 demo. Also to give full judgement a full game (proper drift cars, upgrades and tuning) is needed. I also like a lot the feeling of grip in forza 3.

So to sum up, LFS, Forza and Enthusia are the best games for drifting in my opinion. In LFS you get proper g25 support (which is not all that realistic, but realistic enough to give immersion), awesome online drift community, not much content, great physics, great layout editor. Then there's enthusia were you have lots of content, great cars, great physics, great sounds. Then it's forza 3, where you have great physics, great sounds, lots of content, very good tuning, online community etc. All games give a very good feeling of drifting, so whichever you drift in, you will be happy. As an overall package forza and lfs are equal to me, and enthusia is behind because it doesn't have online.

Then it's GT5P, and then much more far away rFactor with drift mods.

More impressions from me.

Forza 3 is really growing on me, I really, I mean really do enjoy it a lot.

The GFX in my opinion look exactly as on gameplay videos we've seen. Photomode will probably up the gfx with some higher level of detail.

Some crap pictures with phone (motion blur in replay cameras is not completly enabled when game is paused, so mostly no motion blur on pics). Colors ofcourse got changed due to the fact that camera is crap. But it still looks sweet to me.

Since you can't watch it. Cars go sideways onto the road-side(grass and stuff), and the roadside surface is causing the rollover. Pretty sweet.
