Quote from JJ72 :I love smaller GA aircraft as well, carendo piper and the diamond katana are the best, I do low level VFR with them as well, especially in terrible coditions! with rain and all that, however sometimes I think they are a bit tooo tidied up, and lack the raw feeling of a good old DC3 or Connie (speaking of which we really need some high quality payware connie!).

May I recommend you Realair products (www.realairsimulations.com) and the DHC Beaver (From the same place as diamond katana)

The planes from realair really are the best modelled props (altough I'd like to see them model some different props) - Gorgeos panel (3D Gauges in FSX) and good flight dynamics (realistic side slipping and spinning)

These planes are modelled realy well, but I don't know if they're your cup of tea.

May I correct you that these are not airports but ARTCC's and FIRs. (Areas, if you noticed, I chose the week where Estonia was first ) I'm sure you can find some challenging airports from those areas. The main problem of both VATSIM and IVAO is that most advanced simmers fly these big metal things - Boeings and Airbuses. I'm not one of them, my favorite airplane is teh De Havilland Canada 2 Beaver Taildragger from 1948.

Quote from Crashgate3 :If you want to play FS online, try Vatsim (mainly US) or IVAO (mainly Europe). These are a series of connected servers manned by real prople providing air traffic control and lets you fly in an environment as close to real-life flying as you can get on a PC.

http://www.vatsim.net/
http://www.ivao.org/hq/

Sorry for bumping an old thread like this, but I don't want anyone getting wrong information. VATSIM is not mainly for US and IVAO mainly for Europe. VATSIM is mainly for more advanced simmers and IVAO for beginner simmers.

Here are the top 25 CENTER ARTCC/FIR's Week 17 2007, America has some more in the top, but Europe has many controllers, who are only online, say 2 hours a week.

A pretty good idea, the size of the patches highly depends on your internet connection, I'm stuck on 48 KB/s and it took some time to download patch X.

Quote from Blackout :What on earth is 3210 classic? 3210 is old as hell?!

edit. Hahaaa, typo I see.

Haha, it was a typo, I can't imagine a phone like that with a camera.

I can't understand what has a 3110 to do with 3110 classic, they don't look similar in any way.

I'm probably getting a Nokia 3109 Classic (Should be in stores in a couple of weeks). Has anyone got a Nokia 3110 Classic here (It's basically the same as 3109, except that it has a camera and FM Radio), is it OK?

Quote from garph :Read this: http://www.lfs.net/?page=patch_x

The default auto download skins that LFS use are 512 for cars and 256 for helmets. With the new hi-res skins cars are now 1024 and helmets 512 (you have to pay for the extra bandwidth that these skins use, £1 for 200 skins, all explained in the patch X link) doesn't sound a lot I know but I think you can really see the difference.

If you go into OPTIONS - MISC you'll see the options.

£1 for 2000 skins
An important question about the Layout Database.

I have lots of time today, so I thought I'll do something useful. What is your opinion - shall I upload all the layouts categorized to the LFS-Database or shall I update the layout datatabase?

EDIT: HOW CAN I add a poll?
EDIT2: Grr.. I thought you have to edit the post afterwards.. now I'll get only 3 answers.
EDIT3: LOL, I even posted that into the wrong section, please move it to layouts

S1 isn't so dead anymore, because S1 servers appear on S2. Hosters!! When your server only has S1 content, make it on S1, S2 owners will also see it on their server list!

This is the first mod EVER, that made me say WOOW. Thanks a lot, altought the redwood wheel doesn't suit very well in a formula car. (I'm not saying it's not a beatiful wheel)

Quote from Venus :Two things.

First, can you fix it so that the "Name List" does not disappear when I bring up the / talk window to kick someone. If I click on their name, in W vers, I can't edit before their name to add kick/ban etc. If the name list is up when I hit / then I can do it in the talk window.

Second: I'd hate to have some lag limiting added to servers. You'd basically knock all of australia off most of the servers. Most of us here have between 250-390 ping to decent overseas servers (european) american ping too high mostly. There are only 2-3 racing servers (my own discounted) for australia, most of them are drifter ones (puke). I think locking us out of european servers from lag, would probably take alot of ppl out of LFS. It'd take me out. Yes it would be server initialted, but most servers would set a min ping to be 250-300 and that knocks out most australians. I'd hope you'd think very carefully before initiating that, there's alot of gamers here into racing.

Venus

First - use right click instead of left click.
Second - I'm not a nationalist, but if your ping is above 300, it is VERY uncomfortable to competete with you, before a corner it takes maybe half a second before your braking lights light up, it's bad you have so much ping, but driving is not so fun anymore for people with <100 ping drivers. If that option will be granted, I'm sure there will be servers that allow you.
Third - this can already be achieved by Insim.
Mod Enabler (not by me).

Found this while playing Silent Hunter 3: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html (The Generic Mod Enabler). You can use this nifty tool to:
1. Enable mods, at the same time this mod will backup current files
2. Disable mods with one click
I also think you can organizy patches with this .
And a note again this is made by JoneSoft.

Really bad ideas here. Both the idea to give more content and the one to give limited time to current demo. Let the demo be as is, it's excellent. The only normal idea is to include a downforce car.

(Well, the speed traps are just showbusiness. You think every F1 viewer is a racing expert like you, Tristan? )
I think you can figure out some tactics from the current speed traps - high downforce or low.

I would like if they would show us more incar camera um.. pictures.
