And no this isn't another topic asking whether or not the Scirocco or Rockingham or S3 is released. I can see those have not been released yet and I can see that Scawen have posted progress reports.
As a long time LFS lurker (or former LFS lurker ) I've sorta wandered back into the LFS forum. So... what's up guys? How have you all been doing? Has the demo server racing been improved? Plenty of active leagues in 2011?
Just sorta back for nostalgia's sake. I will participate in the K250 and I'll participate in the odd LFSCART event and become the sarah fisher of LFSCART
So yeah, what's new guys?
BTW feel free to add my newer accounts for those of you who were friends on my hacked messengers:
Americans say "I could care less"? I've actually heard pidgin hawaiian people say it much more than Americans... heck I cant even remember a time when a mainlander american has said "I could care less" over "I couldn't care less"...
Although Hawaiians say that all the time. But they also say things like "I come here for look for em" when refering to a single object (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UjY_27HlXw)
Actually that makes iRacing better imho. The point of racing sims is to emulate reality as much as possible. I'm sure drivers in real life have this exact same fear, and the fact that I'm constantly sweating like hell in EVERY SINGLE race makes me feel more like a real life driver. A driver in real life who constantly goes off track (even without spinning out) is seen as a driver who doesn't know his limits and thus not a very good race car driver.
Good iRacers emulate good real life race car drivers. They are comfortable to go at the limit and will rarely go beyond it and there's actual real consequences for going beyond your limit. What happens if someone decides to cut the chicane or grass just to keep his position in LFS? I respect iRacers for being THAT close to the edge constantly and yet still remain cool, controlled, and fast.
If you can't get to your limit or go slightly over the limit and yet still maintain a 0 incident race, then you aren't that great of a racer Hey, dont get mad. I'm not saying I'm better. In fact, I'm the first to admit that I dont have this kind of comfort in iRacing. Chalk it up to talent or practice or a combination of both. Point is, I'm (and apparently you as well) not that good of a racer and in iRacing it REALLY shows when someone is mediocre.
Is this rookie experience? Cause i have the exact opposite experience with C and up. Complaining that the racing sucks in iRacing purely based on the rookie experience is like complaining that the racing sucks in LFS purely based on the demo server experience.
Again, I love iRacing, but I also do agree that it's too expensive. That's why I'm in Netkar Pro as well and I jump between the two sims
There's no such thing as freedom of speech in a privately-owned environment. The "outrage of censorship" only really works in public declarations or government affairs.
It's the developer's forum. They can delete/edit/mod whatever they want. Freedom works both ways my friend
Yeah love how money talks. Dont think Narain have anything special to offer F1 considering that he's been in NASCAR this whole time. IDK, maybe the new HRT will drive like a CoT on road course and he might actually have an advantage over his teammates
Each time you get a new piece of information that would help prove your identity send another request to hotmail. But by this point, it doesnt seem likely u'll get anything back. This is the main problem with services that don't have phone support. It takes a lot longer and sometimes it's harder for the service to verify identity. I'm very sorry, but at this point it's safe to assume that you've completely lost the account now. I sent gmail two verification notices and they both rejected it. I was ready to kiss my gmail and youtube account goodbye until Jake had the amazing good will to let me know who did it and got the changed passwords for me.
My hotmail verification was still pending but it wasn't highly likely that I was going to get that back as well. I got all my hotmail/gmail/youtube accounts back by sheer luck (and thanks to jake). Everything else was a slow process through phone support and emails. If the service don't have a phone support? Keep emailing them (dont spam them, but be persistent). I mean the only other thing you can possibly do is ask your account back from jordan or brt... i know that might be unfair. But if you really need those accounts back it's an opinion to think about.
If not, then I would suggest that you move on: create another email with a better measure for security. At this point that's all you can do. I've completely dumped all my old pariahserpent email/accounts and created new ones with far improved security.
tbh I'm not sure what anybody could do. If i could do more to help him get his account back I would. But, short of someone actually hacking windows live (and I dont know anybody with that ability here) there's nothing we could do (beyond ostracizing brt and jordan that is)
Have you submitted an account identity verification form?
I had my Hotmail, Gmail, iRacing, Youtube (and at one point they tried to take my steam) hacked but I got them all back. Partially through technical support and partially through microsoft's forms. Have you tried the tech support route?
BTW brt/jordan, real mature. Dropping me down from A class to 1.2x SR C class as well as getting the iRacing community angry at me. Thanks, that was greatly appreciated Although I am glad they didn't make a run for my LFS account
I mirror oscar's sentiment IC8 would add something new and interesting to the table tbh. I say do it.
Or at the very least test it out. Open up the tweak and test it out. Then do a test race. If I can keep it on track then there's no reason why anybody else cant
Really? I actually searched it and I didnt find it
Well I apologize for taking someone else's idea. I assure you I made this skin from scratch from this http://images3.wikia.nocookie. ... a/Nfsexe0x7740caf1kx9.png. And I didn't know it was already another skin. But if the creator of the first skin wants me to take it down then I will switch to another team. (also can someone link me to the public skin?)
But that's just a difference in judgment. TBH there are certain places where divebombs might be "safer" and more effective. That divebomb in the Coulthard video would have never worked unless the driver being passed either slows down or turns away from the apex.
That was just a poor decision by Coulthard as that corner doesn't allow divebombs very easily.
Exactly. There are just places on the track where ballsy passes can be pulled off and places where ballsy passes cant. From what it seems like so far, Kobayashi has very good judgment on when to make a lunge even if he overshoots himself sometimes.
This is the major difference between Sato and Kobayashi. Sato likes to just divebomb when ever he sees a slight gap (watch his indy races this year, he's retired 80% of the indy season). Kobayashi seems to be much more controlled and seems to have better judgment on where divebombs might work.
Granted he's still divebombing...but in a far inferior car I dont see a problem with that tbh.
