Quote from CodieMorgan :
Imagine how you would feel if you were one of only 3 people developing a sim for ungrateful community members that have no understanding for how hard your work was - and had to read that.

3 years later LFS would have 3 years more worth of code in it, and still alpha....

Have you any idea at all how hard it can be to keep track of your code in such a vast array of code files? So many lines. I myself, have had to deal with both. And here you would be trying to provide the BEST final product possible, even if it takes ages.

I would ban you =/

....I had said in my post that I am grateful for the devs giving me LFS.

Quote from lizardfolk :

I'm very grateful that LFS has existed and if it must end now. Well, that's perfectly fine by me. It's been a great ride

I had enjoyed my 3 years in LFS but that doesn't mean I have to blindfold myself on LFS' situation. And what I said was true. Most games do die....period. look at the mmorpgs.

Tell me that the Everquest devs didn't work hard on their game....and they are still being worked on. And yet Everquest is essentially dead. What makes you think that LFS would be the perfect game that would last centuries? What gives you the right to decide if LFS deserves to survive longer than Everquest, or rFactor, or Shootout, or Swords of the Stars? Or any other game that LFS has outlived in the game market? LFS has already lasted much longer than most other games of its time. But if it wants to CONTINUE that it needs to move or else suffer the same fate as other games. Just the fact of the gaming industry.

Even if you want to be a LFS sheep you cannot deny that fact. I'm just merely pointing out the problems that LFS is facing and it's the EXACT same problems as other video games. So you want to ban me for pointing out the holes in this sinking ship? Or would you prefer to turn the other way and imagine that the boat is fine

Is it dying? Yup? Is that anything special? Not really. All games die without hardcore constant development and even games WITH hardcore constant development end up dying (did anyone in the 90s really believed that Everquest would die? Well it's dead now...).

Look at most if not all of the games in the market that ranged from early online play to 2006. Most of the games in that range are dead.

If LFS doesnt keep up...well...that's nothing really to sob about. Just be happy about it's fantastically long run and move on to either rFactor 2 or iRacing. (Or games from other genres).

But...if LFS's patch comes out b4 rF2 comes out, and the patch turns out to be a real killer. All the joy to us. But LFS "getting better" is a luxury thought by now. The devs dont really owe us anything. Even if it is "incomplete". They did more work than I can ever hope for in an indie racing simulator tbh (eventho I do bitch and moan everyday about LFS' shite damage system).

I'm very grateful that LFS has existed and if it must end now. Well, that's perfectly fine by me. It's been a great ride

HOWEVER, again, the devs have to realize that LFS needs to move forward if it wants to survive strong. I would prefer an actual complete damage/aero model (breakable parts, sensitive suspension model, mechanical failures, brake heats, etc), over more cars/tracks any day. Also fixing the buggy barriers and hopefully implementing changing track conditions (dynamic wind, track variation temperatures, day/night, rain/wet).

If all those are implemented, i think i'll be playing LFS until i die

Both my favorite drivers are doing horrible this year. Marcos Ambrose and Max Papis have both been very bad as this 600 has shown.

Really wonder what happened to Ambrose to cause him to loose it like that...horrible season for the both

Seems interesting that BMW is thinking of pulling out of WTCC.

But according to this article there will be 4 new manufactures in WTCC by 2012....think anything will come out of it?....

http://www.cars-sale.co.cc/use ... 12-chinese-finale-mooted/

The most eye raising addition would be Geely as the Chinese manufacture....dont think they will have better luck than the Ladas but we'll see....I'm also skeptical is anything will come out of this...

Will this be good or bad for WTCC?

EDIT: Based on the article. 2012 WTCC could face: Chevy, Ford, Honda, Alfa Romeo, Lada, Volvo, and Geely. Now...that would be something....

Both on the road course and oval side US has always had a large number of fantastic tracks. So Tilke is very worrying...well...atleast he isnt trying to renovate a current track, but rather building a new one and hey...there's a chance it might be good. But if not...well, atleast the US wouldnt have lost a good track

Quote from PMD9409 :Well Indy was built before F1 was it not?

I think he was trying to say no track in the US was purposely 100% built for F1, which would be true.

F1 could just race at martinsville

Quote from Ori :This all happened as I was expecting lizardfolk to get behind u and do a proper draft. He obviously wouldn't and so I moved in front of him to give him the draft instead of u so that we could still get the process right. He then decided to go outside and inside again. After we we were in the turn I thought he would finally get it but he does the same as one lap before.

You will never see me block unless it is the end of the race or another considerable reason. On oval, only a very beginner blocks instead of drafting.

Well actually Elliot and I was trying to get rid of you and the both of us couldnt understand the slight bit of weaving that you did. Did you want to draft with me or him? Or did you want to block us? It seemed that you kept changing your mind and that resulted in our contact in T1.

Was a great race for me. I'm happy to be competitive (some what :razz again and passing people. Had a very nice last lap with arox. Great racing arox, was unfortunate we didnt have the pace for blauwhoff and cattell...but...perhaps next time

BUT so many people just decided to overtake b4 the s/f line....idk if i wanna protest them all but that HAS to change. It was causing a lot of confusion and crashes :/

Not that I'm the greatest sim racer ever or the best race car driver period...but here's my 2 cents.

I think Nick's right too. Driving basically RWDs all my sim racing life...every time i step into a FWD car (which is very VERY rare) I keep forgetting that when I'm about to spin out I have to floor it. So I sometimes (out of habit) brake and thus the FWD just snaps around. Even when I push into my mind that I am driving a FWD I still forget to floor it each time I get out of shape.

While a RWD is theoretically harder to save. A FWD is logically simple to save but is sometimes very very hard to execute due to it being so counter intuitive.
