Quote from evilpimp :Why not LX1 through 12? Maybe an LX12 with a twin turbo 80.0L engin? Wouldn't that be a beast? And then the LX1 to comete with the UF1

LX1, with a 49,9 cc twotact engine

That pc should still be able to run LFS just fine. I had a XP2000+ with radeon 9500 en 750 MB ram and that was ok. I replaced it because it was pretty old, but it still ran Windows XP and LFS fine. But it didn't with other games. Funny thing is I discovered I did not like those other games and now still only play LFS with my new PC.

So an XP3200+, Radeon 9800 should not be a problem with full grids if you have the right display settings. I would just keep it, you won't get a lot of money from it and it still is ok as internet pc or (file)server and it even runs older games (and LFS). I've kept mine (although i've given away parts of it, so it's not that usable anymore )

Did it have slicks? A car with a little more power then LX6 and slicks could be cool (but also very unforgivable and hard to drive).

I don't know. The LX6 is already difficult to drive for most people. I've never driven LX8, but it sounds like an easy add-on and also difficult to drive.

What's next? LX10 and LX12?

Maybe you could give more information about what the LX8 was or is so this thread becomes a little more usefull.

Quote from anbiddulph :BUMP! BUMP!

got a kenworth T2000
top speed 72mph,

Nice, i have the 1997 Kenworth W900. It's a great truck. With new tires it does 79 mph, I think your truck will do the same.

What resources do you miss to finish it? Time?

Yes, thats the logo

I would not use that skin btw. The people driving it were real ****s (left someone to die and tried to leave the country http://www.metro.co.uk/news/ar ... d=47760&in_page_id=34 )

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :I never said BC was a cheat, i said it was unfair, ok for me you can use it all you want until the devs decide to put and end to it but if you want to be regarded as a top driver in the community, STOP USING IT. None will get any respect from me whilst using it and i think i speak for alot of people when i say that.

End of discussion for me.

Oh and for "people using FF are cheaters" No they're not, not their fault their wheel is better than yours, you wouldn't see McLaren go to the FIA because Ferrari are cheating because they have a better car would you? Same goes for LFS.

Wel i can't see Ferrari going to the Fia because they have autoclutch and McLaren has a faster buttonclutch on the wheel either I don't use it, but it's a function in the game so it's not cheating. In fact you could see a wheel with a buttonclutch as a better wheel compare to a wheel with a clutchpedal (your own example, not mine).

Quote from Eleanor SpeedGT :1997 kenworth with new tires can do 80mph!

Nice, gonna save for new tires then
Quote from anbiddulph :F...A...S...T...

ah well, im happy

Yes, you have a good truck. I should have picked that one too instead of the 1994 Freightliner FLB i had.

Quote from anbiddulph :i sold my truck (after 2 days....) bought the volvo WIA64T, and with fresh tires....

64MPH FTW!

I've bought the 1997 Kenworth W900 (could just do that with a $1000 loan). It does 72 mph, i understand that with new tires it will be able to do 73 mph and have 100% and that it has an advantage in bad weather? I think i will also save for the high gear ratio since i wont be able to get it fully loaded anytime soon.

Maybe you could explain what you mean. I don't think a lot of people understand this.

Quote from Eleanor SpeedGT :I had same truck when i was new, the next truck i chose was 1997 kenworth w900.
But its your choice depending how much money you got etc. You can also take out loans.

I'm also saving for that truck. When i have my current contract done i almost have the money.

Very cool idea and worked out nice. Only thing is the speed of the website, can't you put it someplace faster?

Quote from Mike85 :
Imagine if someone produced a 100 million dollar budget racing sim. Laser scanned tracks, real tracks, new physics model, all the requested features, ..... That won't happen, because racing is not that popular.

Isn't that what iRacing is? With a bigger marked it would be cheaper for the consumer but i don't think development of iracing was cheap (i don't know if it was "milions" but i don't think it was cheap compared to other "games").

Quote from anbiddulph :i am quite happy with my driver now, i have a truck hat does 55mph and $1000, alot better than a 49mph truck and -$400 eh?

I have a 52 mph truck and $2,262.50. If you didn't reset your driver you would have made that money too

My truck can't even go over the speedlimit. What are most speedlimits? I saw of 75? Then my next truck should do 80 mph. That's fast.

Quote from anbiddulph :i have reset my driver in the hope for more money,

i am going to wait to get the truck discount, and then run the company routes

Really? I made some beginnermistakes too, but i'm not gonna reset. I'm just making more money when i learn what i did wrong (ok, i could have had a better truck, but i will buy a better one next time).

Quote from alland44 :I have done this kind of thinking myself, but never dreamed of this beeing implemented. i am for this, but I keep dreaming, myself, I !

Realism is not the game, in Lfs. They would have to solve the view first !!!

Nothing else matters. A 20 - 25 degrees view on a screen, is NOT realistic. So what do I care about this - Nothing !

Then we have to talk about the G-forces, the feelings of a real car. How do you implement that ?

But I would settle for the view, and go on from there. But NOT a 20 - to 25 degree inside view.

I can see at least 180 degrees in my IRL car. But who cares

How would you change that? The bottleneck is the hardware, not LFS. If you use multiple monitors you get a wider view, if you use freetrack ( http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=42422 )you get a wider view. Both allready possible with LFS.

Quote from obsolum :Yeah, a guy on the Freetrack forums called Marcus makes caps with IR LEDS in them, see Gnomie's post earlier in this thread, he posted pictures of the cap. I also find the cap to be really comfortable, it feels just like a normal cap and even looks like one, too. At first glance you hardly notice the leds that are sewn into it. I'd rather wear such a cap instead of some goofy looking device that a lot of other users use

You can order the cap here for $29.99 (with the weak dollar that's a bargain), but there'll be shipping costs added, depending on where you live ($9 outside of the American continent). It gets sent to you by mail. I received mine after 10 days of ordering online, I live in Belgium. In total it cost me about € 25,5 (will be the same for you). I find that affordable Of course, you do need a webcam, so if you don't have one yet you'll have to buy one like I did.

Thanks, i've bought one too from the guy now (have to try this ). What webcam have you bought for it? Not all webcams on TrackIr website are that good available.
