Quote from Jakg :Yes.

They loved it, but their review (and the whole show) was rubbish.

It was indeed a stupid review. Who thinks of it to test a FWD at the beach ;?

Cockpits are darker now when you drive in the shadow. In the pitboxes they are darker now, if you drive out of the pitbox they light up.

You know monitors loose contrast over time?

Quote from ajp71 :The biggest issue with the DFP was the wheel itself was not rigid enough to cope with the forces applied on it, particularly with strong FF. The only major internal change between the DFP and G25 has been to make the FF system much stronger. A DFP with G25 internals would be much worse than a DFP!

If i remember correct on SRT they liked the G25 above this wheel but this wheel was better and worse at FFB at some points compared with G25. That sounds logical, it's newer then G25 but only has one engine for FFB. I think the DFGP could be a good wheel if you can't afford a G25.

Congratulations, nice to have more LFS news in SRT.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :"And in todays news, it appears some idiot has found a LFS crackz0r".

In other news, the world is going to end tommorow! That's all the news we have n...*gets sucked into black hole*

In other news, NOSBoozter stole $15,85 from SupraCopper @ Liberty Cruise

Quote from LazLoW :Does the Nuburgring have a single owner? Is it owned by a company? Surely somebody has to call the shots? VW? Porsche?

Part of it is a toll-road. So i think Germany owns it.

To bad it doesn't work with Patch Z. I still hope it will be updated.

Maybe it's time for an ingame bookmark option or LFS World version.

Quote from HVS5b :I like it better than your driving, and thats not saying a lot

Saw a handy thread on the Trukz forum recommending the International 8100 as your second truck purchase. I thought the Kenworth W900 1997 looked a bit better value for money, and judging by the number of people who own same, it seems the majority agree?

Any thoughts?

We need more team members so we can start contract runs, its a slow process otherwise Heeeeellllllloooooooooooo, is there anybody out there

If you can afford it the Kenworth W900 1997 is a great second truck (or third if you are also gonna drive the International 8100). I'm looking what is gonna be my truck after the Kenworth W900 1997. I will need an other one when i have the tripple trailer endorsement wich i'm saving rating and money for now. Still 10 rating points to go, but last 5 points went very fast (10 days, short trips)

Quote from Mp3 Astra :It's unfortunate that when trying to "search this thread" for anything related to "Scawen", I just get 55 posts with the word "Scawen" but no posts by Scawen himself.

*sigh*

Why don't you search for the user Scawen in stead of the word Scawen?
Quote from evilpimp :I'm not sure that the 200 bhp the VW has would be able to compete with the 250-70? of the TBO's..

I think you have to do your homework again. It has less HP (but only 5 to 10) but maybe there are other differences. I expect the TBO's to be a little prepared for the circuit and if the VW is a default roadcar with a default roadcar setup and tires it can never compete. But since i red something about a Scirocco cup maybe it is also tuned for track use.

Quote from danowat :You are completely missing the point mate.

I think alot of people need to get the romantic notion that LFS is there purely for the love of it, and remember that it is a sole income source for a few people.

Indeed, and nothing wrong with that.

Quote from Quint999 :Is this going to be a replacement Demo car ?

If this is some sort of promotional deal for VW, then wouldnt they want it open to all, or do they just need a special version for Leizpeg and other promo events ?

The promodeal is at the gamesconvention. I think they can affort the S2 licence (if LFS is gonna be used over there, it could be a specialised version)

Quote from Chaos :great news!

but it made me angry... about two years ago I offered the devs to include a race version of Skoda Octavia, I got permisson from the factory, but they said no... More years back I offered them a real life racetrack for free (the one I used to work at), even got them very accurate GPS data of the track that one very known team (very successful in 24h of LeMans) made during testing there, but again - no...

I really don't want to brag here, but I was the deputy sport director at the second largest racetrack in our country, now I work at the ACCR (the body that has the sport authority in our country), got licenses for Clerk of the course and sporting steward for both cars and bikes, for bikes even a FIM license and just now I'm part of the international Jury at MotoGP in Brno...
I got a very direct access to most resources (drivers, riders, factories, track owners, etc.) directy related to motorsport, but the devs just ignore me, if they wanted I could bring a lot to LFS, I tried, but with no effect...

what am I doing wrong? this really took away my motivation to do anything more in this field for LFS...

My guess is it has to do with money and resources. This deal is a publicity stunt for Volkswagen (they even give away a free car) so i think they will receive money for this from their marketing department. Also it's says their importing their car in LFS, so it probably doesn't have to be created from scratch which saves a lot of time. Free content can't compete with that

Quote from Gnomie :I think the camera should be more or less straight in front of you, yes.. but you can always play around with it and see what happens. For all I know it might work just fine. (I'm guessing that the sensitivity in turning left/right would be unequal, though)

How about strapping the camera to a desktop lamp or a bookshelf or something?

I don't have a lot of options. I can place it on a speaker, then it's a little to my left or tape it on my monitor. Then it's right in front of me. It allready fell on the ground because the heat of my monitor softend the glue on the tape I'll try to make it better tomorow and otherwise it will be placed on the speaker.

I've now ajusted the focus of my webcam (it's as unsharp as it can be) and now it works good. It sees 3 leds continuesly.

I have the hat now too. In my first try it didn't work that good, untill i noticed you need to remove the filter from the webcam or put a photo negative on it and that you should not do both

It now works a little smoother. I think it can still be better, will play with it again tomorrow. Do you guys know if the webcam has to be right in front of you? I thought so and taped it on my monitor but i don't think that will hold (since my desks vibrates sometimes because of the force feedback wheel).

Yes that would be nice. Also it would be nice if people that did not finish the race are presented.

Quote from Crashgate3 :If the WR is 1:33, how could people get 1:32 and 1:31? Surely they'd be the WR..

Demoracers can't upload hotlaps. I can believer Demoracers are faster on that combination because they drive it all the time.
