Fast laps mean you are capable of going fast over a lap.

Quote from BurnOut69 :What I would agree on is that fast laps do not necessarily imply a good driver since you have to take into account nerves, racecraft, etc.

Well said, agreed.

Quote from Nitwon :i'm a fast learner, i'll prove it in a tryout if you want

Great stuff!

Never understood the "tryout" concept.. Surely all you will see in a short amount of time is someone's speed.. it can take weeks or months to discover if you can really trust whom you are racing alongside.

Go for the long wat Nitwon, it will give you a better appreciation of what a team is about.

Quote from th84 :I would carry on either way... screw them!

Sorry for any confusion in my post. I was simply trying to point out that it may be more productive to target a particular team rather than posting your availablility for "any" team.

But thats just my opinion and experience talking.

Hi there,

Im sorry but at the moment it looks like you a looking for a team rather than looking for a drive in a particular team. Most serious teams these days would rather you target one team at a time. Basically, do some research and see what team you would like to be in, race with them for a month or so, then see if you get along with them, if so, see if they are accepting entries and go from there.

Question: How old are you currently? (Some teams have a minimum age)
Question: If you gain a position through contact with another, what is your first move after taking the position?

Best of luck

This is a really fun league, and its short too... 2x15 lap races. Its not as serious as all the others. Sessions normally take around an hour.

Get yourself signed up to this series and put some miles in, in the UF1.

Tried playing with the affnity of the applications, LFS and FRAPS, but it changed nothing for me. As for the capturing at half speed, for quality, id do that anyway, but it doesnt answer the question as to why we get such a low fps while recording..

If it turns out that someone holds the key to this issue, and its something noobish im not doing, then thats great too!

Just had a quick test of Game Cam, can record with approx 30-40FPS in full screen mode with a res of 1440x900... which is ok I guess, but the quality isnt great (which could just be a gamecam demo thing).

www.planetgamecam.com

But the quality of Fraps, from what I remember was far superia, it seems a shame to settle. I've not found anything documenting our issues with Fraps so far.

I have the exact same issue, ok my system stats are less than yours, but ive recorded successfully for a long while, but now.. I cant.

LFS happily runs at 100+FPS, yet frames drop to 10 when recording with fraps, which makes the video unusable. Running Vista 32 here.

Franky500, who runs 500servers is a very busy guy. Using the website and the 500servers forums will be the fastest way of getting a reply, should you need one. However, the ordering system works fine Neto.

I'd like to thank everyone for thier interest in this league, and i've heard others have been interested too. However, we will be proposing a limit of 20 drivers at this time.

If there are more entries than spaces, we will operate a reserves list. If there are more than 10 reserves, we will open a 2nd server.

Thanks

Im really impressed with the number of entries to this. It seems there are still fans of the MRT around!!

Even if all signed up dont make every race, I can see at least 12 starters every race!

Quote from Nick A :Yeah, the 1 lap qualifying sounds good. How long does the whole event last?

Most LFS events seem to stay within the 2 hour mark, and we try to keep to that too..

Overall, it depends on the number of entries, but as a guestimate..

Quali - 20-30mins

Races 1-4 - 20 mins

Race 5 - 30 mins

So 90 minutes to 2 hours max.

Quote from Nick A :I can't remember the last time I drove the MRT but I used to love it. I like the sound of the league so I'll give it a spin and then I might enter.

Excellent.. We find the Single Lap Qualifying Spices things up, then there is a series of.. well.. warm up races, shorter than the feature.. but still for points, so worth running etc.

Hope to see you there!
