erm, sorry, my post seems to have been merged into this post.

Also, preferred race number was 03 not 3, same value yes, but appears differently on the car. I didnt group my entry with Bozo for the reason that we have more than two entries from drivenbypassion who have entered (which can be seen on the original thread), the others haven't yet seen that we have to sign up again.

Leave things as they are for the time being, and I will try and get the other two drivers from dbp to enter together as a team.

EDIT: also, you could have found the car choice on the previous thread, i'd presume those entering your test race would stick with the same car choice for series entry.

I lasted but 5 laps, which was a shame, but i'd rather have done that than have lead for half the race then ended up where widdow did, that was unlucky!

Very good racing up the front, it seemed like many many overtakes over the course of a lap. Well done.

Thanks for hosting, will try and attend more often.

6/15 sounds good to me too.

Remember it's your league, but the fact that you are open to change and willing to listen to those signed up is a positive sign

drivenbypassion is again proud to be running its Back 2 Basics, simply racing series. Now in Season Three, this is the first time we bridge the gap by using more simulations than just LiveForSpeed.

We are welcoming clean drivers to the series.

The season consists of four rounds in total, with one round using LFS, two rounds using rFactor and one round using nKP.

We welcome you to join us in all of these events, but if you dont wish to leave the LFS comfort zone (joke), you may just take part in the LFS rounds if you wish - We want your company, so as long as you race cleanly, we dont mind.

The Full Season Schedule is included below, and after that, some more details regarding the LFS rounds of the series..

If you wish to come join us for this quick evening of fun, just pop a reply saying you are insterested here, and you'll be given the server info via pm on Thursday afternoon!

The races are very straight forward.. There will be about 5 minutes of practice before each race, and all races are 10 laps a piece. There is no qualifying, all grid's are random, and points will be awarded to all.

Results will be published shortly after the event and will be available for all to see.

Come on down for 30 friendly racing laps this thursday evening.

See you there.

Quote from D.Zanetti :how many drivers per team, and how many laps will this race be?

Quote from pacesetter :we want to do 2 drivers per team, but may push towards 3 pending on what the competitors want

EDIT: and theres a 6 lapper and a 9 lapper (sorry for the indecisiveness, not at home, dont have all the facts and figures)

Balls, just asked almost the same question via pm , dont need to reply now.

One question tho if I may... 6 and 9 laps.. are surely sprint races (they will be over in a flash for FO8 drivers at least), will there be a longer race too? Or are those just the test race - race lengths?

Sorry, but I think this is not so much a bug. The example config you posted is ordered different to have the LFS Dedi comes configured default. It may just be a requirement of LFS that it needs to know what mode to start in before knowing what track to select.

I only see this being a problem if there was some reason not to place mode before track, and I cannot honestly see a need to change the order in which the LFS config is written (please tell me if there is, I dont mean to sound offensive or whatever, but I just cant see why)

Basically, to me this is only a bug if one purposly re-arranges the order of config of an LFS Server.

EDIT: Reproduceable via the method indicated above, but that would be taken as given, as the above config is not in the correct order

Are you talking about the Z3 dedi? - I cant confirm this bug, it works fine for me, mode is already before track.

Not really, as its really not a hard thing to edit, if you follow instructions, but feel free to post it up.

Housekeeping in the RaceSIM Subforum..
http://www.lfsforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=205

The threads in the main Subforum can be removed/hidden, these are well out of date and no longer required.

Could a Subforum be placed inside the RaceSIM Subforum called "RaceSIM Archive" and the Subforums id=208 and id=217 be placed inside this RaceSIM Archive Forum please.

Could you please add "MR_B" as a moderator too.

Thats all for now. Thanks Victor.

I dont think there is anything that would allow you to do that, short of running two lfs's at the same time, but then you'd need two licences etc..

Interesting idea tho!

Quote from traxxion :My guess would be to keep the turbo pressure up?

Quote from traxxion :I wasn't defending his behavior, I was merely answering Stoney's question why he was riding with the brake on.

Understood, but he applied the brake again right by the start/finish line.. The car behind couldnt react in time, as there was contact there, right before Rudy darts off.

If the cars would have been side by side at that point, and Rudy applied the brakes, the following car would have passed before the start/finish and been awarded a penalty for overtaking.

Anyway, just my opinion, I thought it was an aweful way of restarting a race.

As for support of the overtake, while I dont usually support eye for eye racing, Rudy should probably have expected such a move after pushing so much with the botched restart. It was only a matter of time before cooler head's overtook.

I wasnt there, but watched most of the evening's racing via the broadcast (which was presented well). However, I couldnt understand the restart performance from Rudy.

Firstly, why was you riding the brake? Why in a straight line? I understand bunching cars up, and doing so to gain an advantage when you choose to break from the pack, but there was no reason to do it 'to the line'.. It's not your responsibility to allow those at the back to catch up. You must control the field behind the safety car and not pass it before the start/finish line..

Which could have been done much easier by slowing at the top of the hill, letting the safety car get to the, or near to the pit lane, then choosing the moment to break, giving you a run from the final corner to make some space, in a more sportsmanlike way before turn one.

The eventual overtake for the lead was harsh, but no less deserved after the restart.

Sorry Rudy, I think you lost your cool, and with it, the race victory. Congrats to all, looks like an entertaining season for the spectators!

Hi there, welcome to the forums.

A simple search of the forums gave me this. It's the only one I know of, and may not work with the current version of LFS, however it also may work with the current version of LFS.

Good Luck!

Hmm yes, ok , thats not really what I was saying or asking, but if there are servers which you can connect to, I guess X is still "allowed" to connect to the master and be unlocked.
