Personnally, I like CMX Viewer and I think it sould be updated to the lastest car models (I'm thinking about XRT) and DirectX 9 (so we can also use custom shaders on CMX Viewer).
And why not adding a scene in it, like Assetto Corsa for example, or a least ground and background all around.
Personnally, I replaced the leather racing tape on the wheel by the Leather3_join by a rotated Leather3_stitch, and default rear lights and XRdials_ALP, and it's just perfect.
The only problem is that the wheel texture also apply to the XFG, so if you can do the same mod for XF, it will be perfect !
Advice for people : Use superscampling in your graphic card settings for best quality on this texture and remove the "pixel too sharp" effect.
Sweet-FX is cool for screenshots, but not for racing.
Keiichi, I modified your shaders, to correct the Fresnel problem and reduce car and change some numbers. I tried to multiply specular by the lighting (so that the car doesn't relfect in dark), but I havnen't founded the correct input for it.
Screenshots : (1) yours (look at the bottom of the car), (2) mine, (3) yours (look at the excess of shinness), (4) mine
Guys, tell me what you think, I'm still n00b on HLSL.
I don't personnally thinks that custom textures settings per track is a good idea. Maybe it can help some people, but it's just my personnal opinion so I'm waiting for other's opinion.
However, I think that the idea to optimize every code you work or re-work is a good idea, so keep it up and make LFS back in the race !
Nice progress report ! I like the quality of these fences, but what I really want to see more, it the background scenery, I'm tired of these pics in the background lol
With the current optimiser, sometimes I can see objects poping far away (at the end of the Blackwood's straight line for example), so hopefully the new one will do a better job ! Waiting for next patch, as usual
