And that's part of what kills LFS for me, unfortunately. The fact that so many people will use "unrealistic" settings to gain advantage instead of just driving the way the car is supposed to be driven. No matter how you put it, you'll always be at a disadvantage using H-shifter, clutch and 720° compared to someone using paddles + auto-clutch and 300° (with two drivers of similar skill, of course).
I agree there is little to nothing that can be done about it, but if there were an option like the OP suggested then I would surely be found in those servers, and I'm sure there'd be a lot more people in them than some of you seem to think. This isn't the first time this has been suggested, either.
Honestly, if it was me I would probably just not go there again at night. That may seem like a chickenshit move but at least that way you know you won't have to worry about them.
As for the baseball bats, I'm not so sure that would really help. You still have to get relatively close to a guy if you want to hit him and if they're somewhat quick they may be able to grab the bat before you swing - or dodge the swing and then grab it - and then you'll really have pissed them off. Some kind of spray or mace may be more effective but again, if you're gonna use that you better hope it works and they go down or run away, 'cause if they don't you'll just have angered them.
I suppose a firearm would be a safe bet to scare them off but of course that's much harder to come by. Maybe shoot in the air so they can tell it's not a toy. Hell maybe even in the leg, if the police aren't doing anything about that kind of scum harassing teenagers then they may not care about scum getting shot at, either
The difference is, though, that Scawen's job is developing LFS; that's where he gets his income from (at least that's what I've always understood to be the case). So that argument is invalid
What do you mean with you "played the normal demo"? Which version do you mean? Because if you were already playing the v1.1 demo you shouldn't have downloaded it again after buying your license, just unlock it
Also, make sure you download and install the updates (marked in red below the normal download mirrors) to the v1.1 version.
Lol, a poll won't change a thing and you'll get the same arguments again in this thread Besides, I don't think there are anough options to vote. I, for example, think that development is too slow but I don't necessarily think it needs to speed up. If this is how long it takes to do stuff for Scawen then that's how it is, not much you can do about it Besides, I don't really care about LFS right now so it doesn't matter much to me.
What The Lupe meant was that if you use Paypal your credit card number is not revealed, making it much harder (if not impossible) to "steal" your credit card.
That's what I linked to in the post right above yours. I didn't mention the name, though so yeah...
Also, that doesn't really help the OP with his question so your reply is rather pointless Typeracer is only fun if you already know how to type properly and fast.
It will come more naturally with practice. I can understand that it feels awkward at first, especially since you probably keep all your other fingers properly on the keys because "that's the way you're supposed to do it". But as you get better and start to type faster you'll notice that your hands leave their "recommended" position often but briefly when hitting certain keys.
For example when I hit the 'c' key my index finger will move down together with my middle finger, placing it above - but not on - the 'v' key. This way the movement comes a lot more natural.
Same thing with the 'x' key: my little finger will move down together with my ring finger, hovering above the 'z' key (at least on qwerty keyboards). I don't think about this, of course, I only just noticed it now when I payed attention to it.
An alternative is to just use Windows Speech Recognition It comes built in with Vista and Windows 7 and actually works very well. A fast typist will still be faster than someone using speech recognition in many cases but... you're not a fast typist Yet
EDIT: by the way, if you feel confident typing a bit faster this might be fun for you You get placed in a "race" with a number of opponents and you type the text shown to you as fast as you can. Whoever finishes first wins Apparently I type at a rate of 100 words per minute with an accuracy of 99.5%. I had no idea There's some insanely high scores on there, though. Makes me doubt if they are legit. 175 words per minute? That's almost twice as fast as me then... that really seems awfully fast to me. I wonder if there's some way you can cheat this system.
Alright, I've got a question, too. Today I finally succumbed to mIRC's "nagging" for me to register and since I get 50% off I thought why not. But on the register page it asks me for my phone number and my street address. Why on earth do I have to give that information to register an IRC client?
So my question is: can I just enter nonsense in those fields, or does he actually require my street address for some reason?
You've been S2 licensed for half a year, done around 7000km online and haven't raced online for over 2 months. Seems like you're the one who's given up and rather quickly, I may add
They're Xbox exlusive It was announced that the game would get exclusive DLC worth at least xx hours of gameplay long before GTA 4 was released. So yeah... I don't think they'll be available for the PC anytime soon (if ever).
