Well, even the last generation was better than ATI, the image quality just sucked. G80 image quality is the best one ever, at least the testers say so

G80 takes as much W as the current ATI cards, just prolly 2 or 3 times the fps :P

the devs decide if they like and will/can add the suggestion(s) or not
so no need for polls

Vykos, would you buy some crappy shoes that dont fit your daughter's feet just because you need to leave the shop earlier? I guess you just cant understand game design or design in general, because it's a very personal and emotional thing. Most mistakes are done in the heads and mouths, not on the hard drive or desk.

Once you are unhappy with something, you can't work effectively as you lose the fun and thus the work flow. Also psycholgical and interpersonal conflicts might make things difficult at some point. "communication" and "management" are the keywords baisically.

Nowadays game design has changed a lot because of the enourmous time and money pressure - I have asked a couple of big names in the business (Tom Putzki, Piranha Bytes founder, Phenomedia - Gothic1-3; Andreas Siuka, Ubisoft Lead designer - Siedler (the settlers)) that I met here in my uni, and none of them said he is really happy with his job. I mean, you are working all day long and in the end your game sucks because it full of bugs (Gothic 3 eh...)

No decent game dev can be happy if he has worked many years on a game that won't even get a 80% rating in the end.
Simply because you are doing the whole thing in order to reach people. Game design is about 2 things:
- the smiles and tears on the player's face
- the smiles and tears on the dev's face
Everyone forgets the 2nd...

Maybe Scawen is the happiest game dev in the world
He can do exactly the thing he wants to do, and like he wants to, without having to worry about any external people telling you what to do.
AND he is successful with that.

Of course you can come and say LFS cant be successful if it's never going to be released. Well, it isn't even released yet and they can already live from that
LFS is really like an adventure and Im quite sure even EA will learn from that way in a couple of years. Outsourcing and buying online are the future.

Anyway, do you really think someone leaves a company such as Lionhead, with a genious like Peter Molyneux in it, if he isn't 100% sure what he's doing?
Or rather, why he is doing what he is doing.

Now I said "Scawen" all the time, but actually I wanted to write "they" or "LFS"... but now Im too lazy to change that all over again

I got crash at address 4261CC.
It was an auto-x server with layout, some people racing, I was in the pits.
I wanted to delete a setup, but I accidentally clicked rename (or the other way round, Im not sure as it was really fast), and then ESC twice, so I returned back in the starting position.
Then LFS crashed (black screen, sound looping and the exception message in front).

I forgot to save the deb.log because I started the game in order to watch the replay, but then noticed that the deb.log and temp replay files were overwritten :worried:

U29, and I couldnt reproduce in either U29 or an older version

Hmm Bob thats funny, I just tested it and it is indeed not affecting kb steering anymore. At least it did affect steering back in S1, Im 100% sure about that

robt - are you also fast with that?

Maybe the config file is write protected or your hard drive is not able to save/load the config correctly (faulty hard drive?).
Have you installed any test patch that will overwrite the settings?
Will the bug show up again when you go from Q to U?

Those things have not been added yet because the car details are not final yet. Things can change until the S2 release, so why do things twice?

Analogue steer smooth should be off, and:
button control rate: 6.00
steer rate: 0.6
return rate: 0.45
limit multi: 0.80 (or a bit lower, it really depends on the car and setup)

anyways, I can't recommend driving an S2 car with keyboard. The demo and S1 cars are drivable, but cars with slicks are not supposed to be driven with keyboard

setup-wise, you can drive the wheel setups if they are not too oversteery (You might want to set some softer brakes if they lock up)

Maybe a ignore list makes more sense than a "hide from LA-window" button, because then your buddy list doesn't make sense anymore. Unless you are always racing alone... lol

If you put someone into your ignore list, he cant see your online status anymore.

Looks like you have enabled half texture res or something like this.
Or, your GFX card has set some high mipmap bias in the control panel.
Can you try to collect some data and post that here?

the "ipod" screen isnt centered but the lfs logo is, that looks REALLY bad, otherwise its a cool idea, and of course the "ipod" screen looks too pixelated

Maybe the buddy was added but isnt online (and thus not shown in the Live Alert window)?
If a buddy is NOT shown in the list which you find when you follow 3j's description, it must be a browser Problem (cookies?) or even a bug.

Very nice not to see reflected trees in the car, inside the garage, as in a couple of other pics
Cool wheels also

Quote from XCNuse :what are you talking about orion, the graphics look amazing

amazingly blurred and crappy... real life doesnt look like this

I disabled all effects and set the res to 1600x1200 - much better than 1024x768 with all those effects.

The game is complete junk as usual, the stering is ultra delayed, it looks like crap, and the drift mode is a joke

BUT there is one good thing about it (LOL!! )
