As far as I remember, teh main difference in FFB is that LFS does not try to emulate vibration through the wheel, only turning forces, and this is why rumble strips etc feel different. Neither is wrong, but LFS is technically more "pure" here.

Avoid nVidia Surround if you can, it absolutely messes up with normal desktop operation Frown

LFS's built in triple screen mode works better for me without surround.

You can use Insim checkpoints for this, these are placed in the layout editor, and handled in the UCO packet.

If you need a hint, it's actually a fairly standard "button de-bounce", just in LFS it only applies to gear shifting.

Bear in mind, in real life, you don't need anywhere near this amount of effort to overcome handbrake force, unless for some reason it's got stuck on.

On the flat it's perfectly possible to slowly start creeping forward without applying throttle.

Once the handbrake is set, you can only release it by moving the car (overcoming the brake force.)

This is due to how the push-button handbrake works, and so that when you join the race on the grid your handbrake is on, so you don't get a false start) regardless of the axis.

I have to way, it would be really nice to have the handbrake be released if its set to an axis.

Quote from bobloblaw :A simple solution for limiting to supported times of day

I think the point was, why limit if it's not necessary.

Just because your IPv6 connection is bad, doesn't mean everyone has a bad IPv6 connection.

How you describe how your DNS works is also specific to an implementation, not how DNS works in general.

But yes, LFS does not support IPv6, so if your router only gives out IPv6 it's not going to work. If it gives out both IPv4 and IPv6, the IPv6 part will have absolutely no consequence for LFS.

On the other hand, if your ISP is reporting that "maybe LFS is not prepared for IPv6", yes, that's true, however they may be using CGNAT for IPv4, which could well be causing issues. But that's not IPv6's fault, not LFS.

I disagree, this is quite a substantial change by itself, and could well require changes to how the tracks are updated (lighting and what-not). It therefore makes sense to at least consider what changes would be necessary to the tracks before they are all completed and then have to be redone again.

Quote from scawen :realistic sun directions

Quote from scawen :24 hour period in the summer

I'm hoping this means, indeed, not just night or day, and not just any time, but any date and time of the year. That would mean the sun high or low in the sky. Driving towards a low-sun, unable to see much... sounds fun.

Also, moonlight!

Insim controlled weather and sky lighting? Smooth transitions (and timing) between states? Please?

I'll hope for offset and variable speed. And I'll have to buy another account Smile

> One possible answer is to allow all times of day and night

Pretty sure this is the only possible answer. This goes above and beyond pretty much every other sim. I'm hyped.

Saying installed under C:\ is not quite right, as C:\Program Files (x86)\LFS *is* of course under C:\.

It should be installed *not* under C:\Program Files (x86)\, or wherever your set up normally has programs installed.

The 'lake' isn't filled with water because it isn't a lake, just a drainage area, I believe.

Oh.

Erm, that's the max value LFS supports. Just move the bar yourself to set it to 900 degrees (actually it's around 870 due to dead-zones)

My GTX 670 works pretty well for LFS in VR.

I implemented that style of drag lights into City Life Crew's Insim. Would be nice to have in-world drag lights though, instead of Insim buttons.

No, you'll want something with an x86-based CPU, not ARM.

Quote from Ped7g :What do you mean "you don't need to change graphics engines" .

Maybe some people think updated graphics need a complete replacement, like switching an established product, say Assetto Corsa, to the Unreal Engine...

You judge how a game engine works internally based on the fact it has a data folder? Wow...

Your car_info function will automatically be called for every MCI packet, not just the 1st one. You don't and can't get information about packets other than the current MCI packet within that function because they have not yet been received.

Aren't you already handling your 1st MCI packet? The other packets will come in and be handled by the same code, nothing extra is needed.
