Quote from Becky Rose :There's always a contentious issue of 'expansion' by noisy places, should airports and race tracks expand and make a situation worse...?

However, if they're not doing anything new and it's just people moaning about house prices or complaining that they get paid a shift allowance but there is more noise during the day *cough*... Then screw 'em.

yep the problem with people is everyone is a NIMBY. not in my back yard. they dont want an airport next to them but they would be happy enough to drive 50 miles to someone elses backyard and take the plane from there. This crap holds up infrastructure to no end.

Quote from Shotglass :honestly you drove it with a fwd that can pull itself out of any slide and still your lines were way off on both bends
claiming that drifting is something anybody can do on their first try based on that performance ... well i could make a pun on making an arse of oneself but i dont want to come off as insulting

you could always do a video of how its supposed to be done

disclaimer: i am not making any vids i already say here, i cant do anything that requires making a video.

Quote from champion_martin :when you play with the wheel do you have a clutch pedal aswell as the brake and accelerator?

only recently has there been more people with clutches since the release of the g25 wheel, but a lot of people are still stuck with their old wheel with just accelerator and brake, probably getting the most out of it but if any are like me they know that if they need to get a new wheel, it will be that logitech g25.

To the topic starter:

I assume the frame rate problems are from using fraps and doing the video, is your frame rate often that jumpy when you play without fraps running? If its a bad frame rate it will be harder. I see its at 10 and less which will most likely affect you. Your new task (via search function) is to get your frame rate up and running nice and smooth. Good luck.

PS. I hope the music was a joke.

Quote from word. :The Geforce 6 series doesn't support transparency AA, and doesn't support super sampling AA. Only the 7 series and up.

which makes for some really awful graphics effects on my screen it seems, damn it. I cant be arsed to spend the money on a new one ill just suffer this crap until it dies a lonely death in my computer.

for some reason i get best results with "1x2 SS + 4x MS" in the combined area with 8xS radio button checked.

I cant use Super - transparancy AA. I get lots of graphic artifacts.

I need to use Multi - transparancy AA.

ive got it running better, with new textures and skies but still, i get a bit of slow down. I think its at a good balance right now.

but i think i will turn some settings down at times for performance.

attached is the latest results

in this case installing any driver would have undone whatever I did to make it do that. so fixing the driver fixed the users noobness in this case.

cheers

seems my nvidia 6800 is getting a bit long in the teeth i dont know if i can afford upgrades at all, i bought a power supply about a month ago that I still have to pay off.

Quote from horrgakx :I've seen that before, I know what you mean. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it but will follow with interest. HOWEVER, drivers are at v162.18 so yours are very old. Get the latest ones from here; http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_162.18.html (they are WinXP drivers).

Updated to the 162.18 drivers now, it seems to of undone what I had done to cause the stripes/strobing of the buildings. But its still there to some extent, just, a different type of strobing but it is less distracting while racing. cheers.

Hiya I messed about with my graphics now its acting a bit weird for me and distracting. I tried the nhancer briefly and got this result and now I dont know what I did. I'm going to spend some time today trying to get it to stop flickering and driving me nuts when I play.

I get this weird strobing stripes on the buildings at south city, and people names in the back windows of cars too but on the big sky scrapers in south city its really bad.

Heres some attached screenies, i paused the game and just moved my view very slightly and this is what happens.

The strobing stripes on the buildings flash a lot while racing and its distracting as hell.

* No custom textures right now just for testing purposes ill add those later once the settings are right.

My graphics card is:

nVidia GeForce 6800 series with 92.91 drivers (i think)

8x AA and 16x AF

Any ideas?

Or just centralise the weight distrubution of the driver so wether you sit on the left or the right, it doesnt matter? Sure the FoV would be different but the actual bonus to the cars lap times would be reduced? just thinking along these lines thats all. in the name of balancing and fairness over the name of realism, many multiplayer games have had to make the compromise.

Quote from mrodgers :I don't know how folks can switch back and forth, except for Quicksilver, because he stated he doesn't use cockpit view, thus, view is in center.... I just can't get visualization down using RHD. I've been driving IRL for much longer than in sim racing. It would be like trying to switch your writing hand, or throwing a ball, etc.

Thus, I'm LHD.

IRL, with the gear stick on the opposite hand, that would be even weirder than sim racing on the wrong side. I don't think I could possibly shift at all using my left hand.

I am the same with RHD.

What bugs me so much about my DFP wheel is that the gear shifter is fixed on the right hand side of the wheel. I like that the G25 you can put it on the side that suits you.

Quote from kurent :It is impossible with the newest version of Blender. You need v2.42 and you can import LFS cars in .obj format.

Luckily I still have the cars in .blend format and have uploaded them here:

Quote from N3il.H :what do i use to watch these spr files

save them to your live for speed folder, SPR - single player replay have its own folder and MPR - multi player replay has its own folder. Save them there in the right place, load up LFS and watch the replay.

The hotlaps are emptied with the incompatible patches. But the p.b.'s stay, you can delete your p.bs from a link on lfsworld though, if you want. They could be old p.bs if I am right about this.

GT cars, DTM for me. These always get me glued to the t.v, the others make me fall asleep on the sofa. I like to see tin tops in close racing and lots of overtaking. I assumed that touring cars fits into this option. I find that I prefer to watch the porsches mix it up in the lower classes than the prototype cars. I like to recognise cars from the roads I drive on.

Quote from bAS1c ::d

one question....
while i play online with this or other custom skin, can other players see my skin or only me?

other people cant see your skin as a demo user, when you get S2 license people automatically download your skin when you go on the same server as them. I think if you send your skin manually to people and get them to put it in their skins folder it might show up. (its much nicer to just forget about it and let it download for you though). Good skin.
