Yes would indeed work, my old wheel was a Playstation 1 wheel, so i hacked the cables up on that (was feely ultra cheap) all you need is some USB -x- XBOX converter and some generic drivers to run it. I might have just the drivers you're looking for too!

My DFP was from scan.co.uk - Ordered it along side my new pc just a few days ago £65 including delivery i think it came to or there abouts!

But anyway, i cant see how anyone can give you many tips really... Just drive and learn, its that simple. I started running 1.32's within 2 weeks first time i joined (XFG @ Blackwood) but only because i wanted to be the best, and i was racing very fast drivers (Private fusionracing server). So just go out and learn the track, and learn from your mistakes! If you aint coming off the track, you aint going fast enough

If its new, get it replaced, should have warranty for a good while yet. And if you cant get it replaced, and need to buy a new one, i suggest you get a 7600GS, they're about the same price, but blow the 6600GT out of the WATTAH.

Always carry a lap more fuel, and try and use those tyres as long as possible..

If you're fighting for 1st and you're 2nd or 3rd, just pit a lap after the leader, and hope and pray your tyres dont give up

Nope Ive already been there, or perhaps im confused on the rotation thing itself?

If i set it too 500 degrees rotation... Will the wheel lock @ 500? Will it still continue to rotate? It seems i get all the rumble in the jungle, but drifting isnt possible, i need todo 2.5 rotates to get lock, so eh? Still wrong?

I might buy a licence in a minute :O

Hi Ho!

Got myself a DFP today Its a good wheel, but im not 100% happy with it just yet. Obviously it has its two rotation modes, 900 and 180? Which suck, i cant really get to grips with either, so can i knock it down to like 450? Ive got the Wingman profiler installed, all works fine (Some issues with Server 2003/Compatibilty mode for installer @ Win2000) and i go into ControlPanel/Game Devices/Settings and i see 'Degrees of rotation' so i set that to 450, and in LFS i still have full 900 or 180, depending on which i set it to? Ive googled for a while, but my interweb is seriously cacky tonight, so how can i resolve this?

I have no use for these yet, not till the weekend But i find the track tarmac far too bright, and should be alot darker! GT4 tarmac just looks sexy

Me and a fellow mate just had some odd accident. We are both hooting down the back straight on Blackwood, and his car stops instantly as soon as he hits the brakes and begins the down shift. Ive saved the replay from it, so if its needed then just ask, but it looked like the car had been reset on the track, as it bounced gently as if being dropped. I know it isnt possible to rest car when going flat out, or alteast i thought so.

Yeh ive downloaded the ImSim app that RayOk coded, but its looks overly complex for what seems to me a simple task, all im needing is the connection process and the sending of text, and if i could have that in less then 500 lines that'd be dandy, if not, ill just slug my way through his code picking out what i need.

Ok so, ive decided i want to get back into good ol' VB6, and i hope no one attempts to convince otherwise. I really havent played with it for a long time, and i was wondering if someone could post a very simple example as short and clean and commented as possible to enable me to connect to this InSim business and perhaps relay messages? Ill try build from there as best i can, or give up.

Yeh it really isnt a very good wheel, but its a wheel. The self centre mechanisim is just a rubber band that streches, and its awful. No FF yet, need a 9V external power supply!

And converted it myself with a bit of soldering to work with PC. And it works fine! Its going to take some getting used too and the wheel is pretty poor, but o well. If anyone wants to know how ive done it, ill do a good tutorial, the guides i found on the net arent very good and get a bit fuzzy when it comes to drivers.

Dont get offended by this, i mean nothing by it, but i dont know anyone that has ever been sued or gone out to sue someone. Perhaps i just live in a really really small community

I love Gran Turismo, loved it since day one, and have never missed a title since. Its a fine line between realism and arcade, and thats why it sells so well. I hate NFS:Underground and anything after it, the previous titles are cool though, driving the M5 and being chased, good times!

Ive only got the demo, and i reckon you should just keep playing that for now, as you're probably aware LFS isnt complete yet, but the level of gameplay in the demo, is more then enough to convince me! At the end of the day, it doesnt matter what Tom Dick or even Harry has to say about the game, its your money, and your time, if you like it buy it!

Funnybear, its probably because you're already so used to racing without it that it feels awkward, it helps for me, i used it alot when i was racing with the XR Turbo, would soften the mad amount of counter-steer i had to put in.

Mouse fix removes the acceleartion that Windows adds to your movements.

NotAnIllusion is partly right, it does smooth it. But it just gives you a more precise imput. Each time you flick your mouse with it ON it will jump across the screen, to make up for the small input. With it OFF it will only move as far as you make it move and not an accelerated guess


That's as best as i can explain it. You'd need to test it for yourself!
