Quote from Cawwa :Not ALL the "old" teams will choose GT2. We consider it and have registered one car in each class.

Since MoE now clearly have given that this league is a multiclass league it have to be that for real as well. A competition with 5 teams in GT2 is not a good idea, therefor a restriction in GT1 class teams is needed.
But I guess the fuzz about the restrictions scares some GT2 "wannabee" team away. Once that is clear prolly more teams will choose it.

Sorry I'm not sure I grasped that correctly, are you proposing we now restrict GT1 classes because there are only 5 GT2 team entries?

If that is your idea wouldn't it be better if all the GT2 cars then switched to GT1, and have just good ol' regular single class racing?

Ah uncool.

I lost my best friend of 16 years almost a month ago, he was killed on his motorcycle after only having his licence for a month. Its been shit since and I miss him everyday, so yeah hold in there as it gets easier as the time passes.

The older 1.8 16V Clio's kicked out 137 from the factory, so 140 isn't all that much if you ask me.

The XFG on the other hand well yeah I'm not sure of any standard road car with 115 with a little 1.4 lump, If there was such a car I'm sure I would of owned it at some point

Revving 10K isn't difficult, but its going to require some decent tuning and a hefty bit of engine work/parts.

Once you've given them enough time to get used to them, I'm sure most of you will fall for them. I never liked the LX6 until a certain combo popped up SO2R (The one with the nasty last right hander, I think?) with the LX6. I was crap to begin with racing along side the top Muroc boys, but after a decent set and 20 laps I was running with the best of them. And the car handled beautifully, I guess you just need one decent experience in the car and from then on you'll be in love.

LX6 is my favourite car and I think its probably one of the easier cars to drive, its very forgiving when you actually plant the throttle - you only start messing up when you go into a corner half arsed or with a slide.

Take it to SO or something really tight and twisty and you'll learn how to handle it, once you move onto the wider tracks (BLGP/Aston) you'll find its super easy to be quick.

Oh come on mate, seriously what are you trying to pull here?

One moment you're all 'I'm here to help' then you're giving deadlines of when you're releasing your 'POC work' into the public. Sorry to say but you're nothing more then a script kiddie, you say you are not but I fail to see anything more then that.

Its obvious you want people to admire your 'talent/knowledge' but on the same hand you're trying to play the 'I'm here to help, and don't require public recognition' which just doesn't make an ounce of sense. To top if off you start to play the victim game and make out everyone's attacking you for what you've done, but in reality they're just not putting up with your ever changing attitude on the situation.

Besides this was a general thread concerning software exploits, the fact you've spent 3 pages making it all about 'muhaa' suggests that you want nothing more then attention. Your 'exploit' was really nothing big or dangerous in comparison to what this community has already gone through, just ask some of these clowns about our good mate Phlos (He actually keeps all his tidy exploits to himself - then informs the dev team of them)

Don't take this post personal I'm not here to attack you, I just don't agree with some of the things you've been saying.

K, Thnx Bye.

Quote from Blas89 :You should fellow You should...

Hehe, +1

Not sure if this is true or not, But I heard that in places like Saudi Arabia and such they don't even fit seatbelts into the cars because they believe 'Allah' will see it fit when their time is due. Like I said I'm not sure if its true, But I wouldn't be surprised if it were.

Good luck

Quote from Recury :I had the same problem with my DFP, but I just said screw it and used the combined axis for the brake and gas. It seems to work fine. Am I really missing much by not being able to have full brake and full gas at the same time?

Yeah I couldn't do without separate axis, it only makes a difference during corner entry when you need to keep the brake and accelerator on in order to keep the car balanced.

Harjun, your post makes no ****ing sense.

1) Since when was Jakg, DK or Tristy been a mod
2) It's a waste of space, why don't you go out and play some footy
3) WTF is with your signature, it's like something you'd find from an 8 yearold.

Its beautiful really it is...

This is classic Jakg and Dustin action right here, you spam useless shit two posts previous then you attack another user for posting more useless shit. I suggest to the both of you, you both go outside and play footy or get a girlfriend or whatever.

Most of the replies are pretty much the same here so there isn't much I could add to it, other then I'm almost certain getting stuck into LFS is a whole lot easier then other sims. I haven't purchased a licence for rFactor but I've heard and read enough to make me not do so, seems the general deal with rFactor is the lack of pick up and play option - as well as all the content mismatch issues.

2.
We already have a star that's progressed into real racing purely because of LFS, his name is Norbi Kiss and is just as fast on a virtual track as he is on a real track - Google his name and I'm sure you'll find some more information on him. There are also plenty of top teams, most of which are currently competing in a league called BoTT (Battle of The Teams - http://www.lfsforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=79) Although this will never ultimately decide who the best team is, you'll get a pretty good idea from the results.

3.
Each to their own for this one really, I'm sure if I started on rFactor before I found LFS Id be other there now. However driving fast isn't difficult in my opinion once you've understood the laws of physics, and with other sims I just found they didn't replicate those laws well and that made the sim too alien from the real life counterpart - which made it difficult to drive.

4.
LFS has loads of different leagues for all types of racing, It all depends on what you want to do and how serious you want to take it. We have huge leagues like the MoE (Masters of Endurance) which also has its own Live Stream and commentary (even on the 24hr events :tilt The OLFSL (Original LFS League) has been running for aeons, it also allows for pick up and play. ESCC Which all the top drivers from the top teams attend, League of the Americas, BoTT - List goes on and on.

5.
Someone with less then 1000 Miles.
Someone with more then 25,000 Miles.
Someone with more then 55,000 Miles.
Scawen.

With that you'll get a good mix of opinions and ideas and such from all types of players from 'newbie' to 'just settled' and to the 'old farts' who have been playing long before Scawen was born. Round it off with a technical insight from Scawen as well as any information on the ideas and plans for LFS.

Quote from Bean0 :2 World Wars, 1 World cup....

Quote from Bean0 : We've still beaten you more times than losing to you, including the 5-1 demolition on 1st Sept 2001

Yeah poor Germany got hammered back in the dark ages when football was virtually unheard of, but then it became popular and we've wiped the floor ever since. And whenever England beat Germany (which everyone knows is extremely rare - penalties anyone? ) they have to involve WW2 to give it some significant meaning.

You got battered by some newbies.

Make sure the drivers you select are well aware of the competition they will be facing, and the sort of skill and dedication you require to compete in this event. It's no walk in the park with 24/12/6hr events as well as a couple of 1000KM runs, and with the fastest drivers in LFS competing you need keep alert!

Good luck though.

Quote from theirishnoob :also you'll notice that apart from leather seats and a slightly differant badge the skoda octiva and the vw passat are quiet alike , im guessing that skoda is owned by vw like most good companys..

Spot the obvious mate

Id take a nice vRS or vRS Diesel over a Passat (Unless of course it was the 3.6 VR6) if it was cheaper, everyone knows they're the same car so why not?

Forbin pretty much covered all of it though.

P.S : Doesn't Skoda mean like 'not so good' ?

Never coast.

Brake before you turn, then get back on the power before corner entry and hold it there. Only back off a fraction if the back end starts to slide, never lift off completely mid corner and apply throttle until you're pointing dead ahead. After a while you'll be able to make a smooth transition between the braking and accelerating at corner entry without the rear stepping out.

Most mid corner slides can sorted with lifting the accelerator a tad bit, if you leave it late then you're going to need to counter steer it. Also experiment with the LSD and try to find a good balance with power/coast settings, a good diff setup will go a long way!

Quote from DeadWolfBones :That reminds me, I had one incident where I was drafting behind my teammate and didn't notice the GT1 come up behind me. So, sorry to whoever that was.

Really, I don't think the problems you described are with the cars but rather with individual drivers, and those sorts of problems can be sorted out with practice and/or by sorting the wheat from the chaff as it were.

If it was during the first oval bend, then it was me I think it was you and your team mate, then another GT2 in front. I didn't even see him and nearly hit him, but dived out at the last second.

First things first and I've said this before, stay away from the bloody FOX as a beginner. Most new comers jump straight into it and never progress any further, purely because the thing is so easy to drive and be competitive in. Id always recommend starting with the heavier road going cars to get a feel for the sim, then after a while move onto something faster (GTR/LX4-6) and take it from there.

If however you want to stick with driving the FOX then the only thing I can recommend is go as fast as you can, whenever you can, wherever you can. If you screw up then get going and and keep pushing, you'll never learn till you make mistakes and you'll never make mistakes until you bin it

Don't focus too much on how you approach the corner, just think how you want to exit and after a while you'll auto magically find yourself positioned correctly anyway.

Rome wasn't built in a day - So don't expect amazing results just yet, k have fun bye.

Edit: Try following some fast guys, you'll soon pick up their lines.

Of course its possible and you only require one box watching within LFS to stream the data to the rest of the world (or to a dedicated box to save your bandwidth)

http://www.scvi.net/ I think this is for Shoutcast streams (Winamp)
