Trouble with renders is that people assume thats how the game will look when playing, which really isnt fair. Just get someone with a top notch PC boost the AA and all the goodies, add in some high res textures for that current track and touch up the finished image in photoshop. Beats any rendered image purely because its genuine!

Alot of you seem to have alot of ideas on how to get more people to buy S2 and leave demo. There are a few ways to achieve this and im not quite sure which is best, but just do what any half smart sales team would do.

Lure people in with snazzy trailers and images of what they're missing out, not what they currently have! Yes they will enevitably get bored of the demo content and buy S2 (well most of them) but you could speed the process up.

The only reason i went and got myself a licence was because some random bloke by the name of MrRodgers and a few very well made movies from the community convinced me to.

Right, ive been playing LFS some 10 months now and i think its about time i move into a team. This post is really only to see if anyone is looking or has any slots open for a new member and to see what sort of response's i get back.

Im quick, im clean and have a good understanding of racecraft - This seems to be something i believe most people overlook when recruiting

My pace is good, im usally 1 second or less off most of the WR's
I am looking for an established team, but this isnt a vital (Id prefer one that has a good reputation and a team that is taken seriously)
The only league im currently competiting in is 'TURBO Mini League' - I havent really checked for others.
What im looking from a team is to be associated with a good group of people, well respected among the community, friendly and can offer advice and tips and also to practice with.

Put your hand on the back of the exhaust or your foot (might be a bit hot for the hand) will conk out

I had this problem with my old CR250, the kill switch wire was rubbing and it cut through, and normaly it would conk out anyway! But i set that carb so it wouldnt for racing if i crashed or anything and needed to get going again!

So just block the exhaust for a moment

Its really weird, im not too sure what else it could be, unless of course anyone else using your ISP is having the same issue. Do you know anyone else in the LFS community using 1&1?

And also, try playing on a demo LFS server see if that does the same (its a long shot, probably will still disconnect) but its worth a go!

Other then that im pretty clueless!

Is it only LFS that you have issues with? Have you tried playing any other online games?

Is your connection to the internet fine? Are webpages really slow at loading?

Download speeds ok?

Tried pinging a host? i.e google.de ebay.de

If thats ok, run a trace in RUN
tracert ebay.de > C:\trace.txt

Only things i can really suggest, i know that Viper93 is having issues with his connection to LFS servers at the moment, he seems to think its his router over heating. Well that was his inital thought, not sure what he has uncovered as of yet.

If there are vertical lines going down the whole screen, then its more likely to be a little more serious then a change in settings. Sounds like the card has died, but with the amount of information you have provided its difficult to tell.

• Does this now happen all the time in LFS
- If its not a constant thing and is random - then its probably over heating.
• Is it only in LFS
- Try other games
• Does it only happen after a few minutes/hours/days
- If it varies then its probably over heating.

Also given the fact that your card is a MX4000 its probably pretty old, and therefore its safe to say its dead!

Seeing as the first race is not that far into the future, i suggest someone put up a server to practice! I guess this should really be anbiddulph seeing as he is the league admin. I notice in your first post you mention your team server, i cant seem to find it? Is it because its always empty (because i filter empty rooms) or is it only up at certain times?

Thats all i wanted to say, and just to make sure you enable blackwood so we can get going right away!

P.S : It'd be great also if the other particpants of this event could also pop in some time, this is so i can get to know you, aswell as your driving!

Its good to see Redline Racing get the credit they deserve for being a decent server. I myself no longer race there and haven't since the whole drama caused a few weeks/months ago with bans and what not. I remember having a small disagreement with Evo, whom i still respect but i feel if i had stayed there any longer it would of gone the other way.

I dont think the master server would be involved once the thing is connected, so it would probably require it running on the server itself. Then all the server does it output the data to web.

I think the problem here is, as S14 Drift mentioned, is that it would seriously hog the server to have a constant stream, so perhaps an update every so often would be do-able. Much like those nasty webcams that update every few seconds or so.

We all know master Filur is more then capable of coding such a thing, but would he do it? And who would this really benefit? Given that there is already something available that basically does the same thing without the live web output of course

Scams like these as Jakg pointed out, are pretty common! And because they're so well known, you might be able to get your money back!

Firstly, how did you pay for it? If its PayPAL i think they have some sort of compensation regarding dodgey users scamming!

Or if you payed via Credit card, i think you might still even be able to get your money back, stating you had been scammed but I'm not sure!

And i guess the last option would be a cheque, if you sent a cheque go cancel it immediately!!

If you paid via postal order, well i think you're pretty screwed. Report it to ebay and all the authorities you know, get the phucker hammered.

The key to getting your money back here is to annoying the hell out of the people you used todo the transaction (paypal/bank/cc company)

The problem with playing computer games is that people assume you're a geek that plays a game 24/7. Much like the members of the CounterStrike community and such! Just let them know that isnt the case and that you do actually have a life outside! A quick dirty comment about sex will probably bring you back into the 'cool/normal/socially accepted' zone!

Ok ive given it another shot but still cant seem to get anything decent, so instead ill post my sound source and possibly someone could have a go themselves! Or anyone who knows how i would get a chunk of sound to loop properly without it sounding iffy that would also be as helpful!

Yes that car is lovely! Well the engine more so! Im not too keen on japanese cars, but this is one of those rare few cars that any car lover could just accept as brilliant. Only other of course being the NSX Type-R

Although im having a go myself, im finding it a little tricky to get this sound stuff down. Im looking for a soundpack for the XRG emulating the sound of a prepped AE86, if anyone has some media i can use or can help me on my way, then post something! Perhaps a decent tutorial on what i need and what i should be doing exactly

During my many fearless and skilled battles on LFS, i seem to encounter a small problem from time to time!

And alot of the time when exiting LFS (which might i add is well 'ard cuz i love it innit?) I get a black screen just sitting there after the spam screens, and to overcome it i usally ctrl-alt-del and hit T to engage the Task manger shite and its yanno, awright spose?

Im using an SLI Setup (6800 Ultras) and eh 91.31 drivers (i think) with all the proper drivers and what not. I know for a fact they're not overheating as they dont even go above 60c! So i be a little lost?

I can safely say LFS has helped me with my real world driving. For me its taken the edge off doing risky things (if and when i can) and given me more confidence in my ability todo what i want the car todo. I've always believed since i can remember that id be a fast driver, and with every car game I've played I've always been pretty quick. Now that I'm driving on the road and track for real, i can see the same sort of patterns that i had once been through in the virtual world.

Although most of the games were very aracde like the same applies, pushing yourself a little harder but still holding back enough to keep you alive and on the road. I had also never drifted a real car and when i got LFS i started todo some drifting. I then attempted the same in my car and it worked, the force feed back isn't the same its twice as brutal and requires twice the effort! But the behaviour of the cars are almost identical!

Im young and i drive like a nut, is death near? Probably... Am i wreckless or careless? No... Do i drive fast with others in the car? Not a chance! I leave that for the LFS passengers!!
