That one silly replay could compromise your computers security with the current known set of vulnerabilities in LFS. If you don't know the replay or don't know the user, stay clear and move on.

Never coast.

Brake before you turn, then get back on the power before corner entry and hold it there. Only back off a fraction if the back end starts to slide, never lift off completely mid corner and apply throttle until you're pointing dead ahead. After a while you'll be able to make a smooth transition between the braking and accelerating at corner entry without the rear stepping out.

Most mid corner slides can sorted with lifting the accelerator a tad bit, if you leave it late then you're going to need to counter steer it. Also experiment with the LSD and try to find a good balance with power/coast settings, a good diff setup will go a long way!

First things first and I've said this before, stay away from the bloody FOX as a beginner. Most new comers jump straight into it and never progress any further, purely because the thing is so easy to drive and be competitive in. Id always recommend starting with the heavier road going cars to get a feel for the sim, then after a while move onto something faster (GTR/LX4-6) and take it from there.

If however you want to stick with driving the FOX then the only thing I can recommend is go as fast as you can, whenever you can, wherever you can. If you screw up then get going and and keep pushing, you'll never learn till you make mistakes and you'll never make mistakes until you bin it

Don't focus too much on how you approach the corner, just think how you want to exit and after a while you'll auto magically find yourself positioned correctly anyway.

Rome wasn't built in a day - So don't expect amazing results just yet, k have fun bye.

Edit: Try following some fast guys, you'll soon pick up their lines.

Of course its possible and you only require one box watching within LFS to stream the data to the rest of the world (or to a dedicated box to save your bandwidth)

http://www.scvi.net/ I think this is for Shoutcast streams (Winamp)

LFSWorld has its own automated skin downloading function, whenever a user wishes to use a skin online he/she uploads it to the LFSWorld skin area and everyone who races along side him will receive the skin automatically.

Someone care to explain what the encrypted data is? Is everyone talking about the licenced car variables?

Because these variables/values are plain to see..

Quote from dawesdust_12 :How about not spamming your post with a bunch of smileys thx.

That deserves a medal.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Well, let me offer my amazing Canadian insight on this thread.

Step back down, you're not god and not everyone needs your Canadian insight.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :5) Please stop posting Harjun, until you can atleast use a little bit of brain before you post, if Niko can get past that, anyone should be able to (No offence Niko, but you have gotten better as of late for stupid, senseless posts)

Again, step down and stop barking orders like you're John McClane.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :because real team-mates go all the way for another team-mate.

Maybe he can give you a reach around while you're there, its what real team mates do!

Quote from Leprekaun :Ok, mr. nose up in the air . And for you to talk about racecraft, what a joke! you're the most aggressive driver I've ever met and I know many others who think so too, not in the good way, in a REALLY REALLY bad way.

Haha class!

You're obviously very capable of handing out insults about others and their driving but really can't deal with any negative press against yourself.

Perhaps I should pull an older thread containing you and your emotional journey of 'I take my racing serious, but you guys think I'm crap and it hurts me' LINK : http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=27899

Besides how can Quicksilver be aggressive, he's always behind everyone

Which values are the 'encrypted' values?

As for protection you could probably wriggle something with the PubStat system or something in that direction.

Quote from Bob Smith :Rooble - how else are we to enforce the rules? You make it sound personal. We're really just doing our job here. Any mods that aren't initally ruled out from the main rules are still subject to the moderators discretion and it's a group decision. Extra content for unlicensed players is very unlikely to be approved.

Quote from Bob Smith :
That may or may not particularly concern you, it's all down to respect

http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=486086#post486086

This line here is testing my morals so it makes it personal right?

And yeah ok they get to manipulate the demo cars to have more or less power, or even go as far as alter the car type and such but they still see the XRT interior and model.

Denying them access to these tweaks really wont encourage them to purchase S2 in my opinion, I think it will just split the demo and licensed community even further. Another reason I disagree with the idea is that you've simply gone ahead and completely ruled it out, you've not given it a chance or any room for a compromise.

Anyone who has tampered with this stuff knows how annoying it is to keep track of the numbers and how tricky it is to locate them, so its no 5 minute project

I've pretty much put across what I wanted you guys to read so feel free to ignore this post!

K Bye.

Quote from Gunn :The other thing to remember is that the Devs tolerate current mods including ones which run in memory like BeSpoke and LFS Tweak. It's a very easy task for them to make these and other mods redundant, but they choose to tolerate them so far. If people produce mods which breach the rules that the Devs have set or produce mods that supply content to non-licensed players I imagine that there would be a real danger of LFS becoming much less moddable than it even is already. I doubt that mod lovers would want that.

Just because a mod isn't posted or discussed on this forum that does not mean that we won't review it according to the guidelines already in place for such things. Would-be modders should consider the nature of their creations and how they might impact on the community before galloping off and leaving their horse behind.

Most of what you've just said has been discussed in another topic posted in the programmer section of the forum, and I understand all the views that have been put forward. I just don't see how tweaking the XRT to XXXbhp is supplying more content as its already part of the demo license.

The rules *there state that any modification that changes the car shape/model or enables people to cheat online or the HLVC system will be removed, doesn't really cover anything about the demo users and tweaking demo cars.

Bob has also made it perfectly clear that any software/mod that has not been accepted by the moderators will never be seen on this forum, Oh and any reference to it will also be removed.

So they are the "moderator" rules but its not really important and it really wont change anything, who am I to argue with moderators?

Need sleep, K bye.

Quote from Roadie :run the piss out of it.. im serious.

Exactly

Each time me and my friend rebuilt our CR250's we'd take them to the local corn field and basically give them hell for 20 minutes, after that they'd be running sweet as a nut.

Just make sure you have some decent oil and adjust it accordingly (rich/lean) to each stage of the menace!

However if you're new to the whole virgin engine game just take it easy, run a bit more oil and just pootle along blipping the throttle when and where you feel the need to.

Quote from Dygear :you need to have an S2 license to do it furthermore, it can only be done with the demo cars.

Not true

All cars in LFS are tweakable and its available to demo users just not via the LFS forums due to moderator 'rules' - However nothing is currently available YET due to personal things?

Quote from theycallmeebryan :Will there be support for MPH instead of KPH?

That option is already available if you look in your Gauges folder for the car you want, open the Gauges.ini and under Speed change typ=1 to typ=0 - It still uses the KPH clock but it ticks in MPH

Lpe_91 : Its in the zip folder you downloaded, all you need todo is extract it to the LFS main folder (i.e: C:\Program Files\LFS\ - or whatever your LFS path is)

redrum,

Ive had a few issues with the Gauges today, they often disappeared when I entered spectator mode in single player. And the only way I could return them was to restart LFS - so is this something out of your control or can it be fixed?

Thanks again, awesome stuff.

I even said WOW.

Just tried them out - they're beautiful - I think you should contact Scawen to use these dials for real I think they're ultra sexy. Its a shame they dont integrate so well into the cockpit, as this would certainly revive LFS for me!!!

8/10 For the function and use

Quote from The Very End :Somehow have to agree.
I can`t find the topic people talking about, where they voted (?) for it, but I think it`s plain stupid to not let the demo user have no right for avatar. It`s not that big thingy, but I don`t like that, beeing a demo user giving you less right on a forum. Thats just so... stupid

Its an incentive to buy S2, although Id like to know who was actually thinking something along the lines of..

'Wow I get an awesome sim, LFSWORLD stats!, automagic skin download, real FFB support, all I need now is something to swing the vote. Ah an avatar!'

Seems unlikely but thats how its been and thats how it should stay.
