Oh no, there is a leaf sight on the M320 and you can use it to adjust elevation (my mistake for not making that clear). (Clicky)
It's just that no HUD = no Radial Menu which means:
You can't switch 40mm grenade rounds from smoke to explosive and vice versa.
Or you can't treat a soldier as a Combat Lifesaver (CLS), or Medic if they add it later.
But the game looks fugly without Anti-Aliasing so I have to chose between less abilities for the soldier and realism vs. fuglyness since the patch did nothing to solve the Anti-Aliasing making the HUD disappear thing.
But hey, this game is free. It's much better than Combat Arms, the crap Nexon is spewing, even if they are two different genres.
Equinox: Yeah, I know what you mean. I was totally fine without the HUD until I came to the M320 MOS. I was just adressing the other people who think they need/want a HUD.
Also, I think that truck racing game you were referring to was Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. That game was a laugh from start to finish.
I can get in pretty easily on Windows 7 RC1. I can't and won't play online though because I heard that the AA server was overloaded. It's pretty cool until you run into these problems:
No hud. It also means no radial menu so you cannot do certain actions like chose a 40mm smoke grenade. You also do not know when ammo runs out, how much HP you have, stamina, etc.
Cannot finish some types of training because of the above. Also, some types of training will fail you even with a good score because of server issues.
Mouse sometimes freezes but keyboard still works.
Crashes sometimes.
Minor graphics glitches.
...and so on. I still have some hope for it though because they are probably trying to resolve these issues right now. I'd give it a max of a week for improvement.
Edit: If you set Anti-Aliasing to Application-controlled in the Nvidia control panel, the hud shows up.
Apparently he isn't dead yet. And this (<-- click) is his real channel. It seems like he suffers from Progeria, which is quite similar to hyper-aging. So even if he's 16, his body is probably is somewhere in the 90's to 100's. What's interesting is that around his actual age, most people would have died.
At one point, it was Luathas. He used to have a bunch of demo accounts named "skinman". He made a bunch of awesome skins and textures for quite a lot of cars (S2 included thanks to CMX). Then someone (can't remember who now) gave him an S2 voucher and today we see "skinman" as Luathas.
IMO he still makes the best textures/skins. Lynce comes very close though.
Have you tried safe mode yet? Try using diferent anti-viruses like Avira Antivirus or Avast. They might give you different results.
Sometimes I go out and delete programs, files, and folders that I absolutely know I have not created and use RevoUninstaller to clean them up if they are an installed program. NEVER GO INTO THE WINDOWS FOLDER NO MATTER WHAT. I made a huge mistake way back then deleting some key files.
If that doesn't solve it, don't format the drive. Wipe it completely clean with something like this http://www.dban.org/ or with another hard drive wiper (make sure it's really effective though). There is a very very good chance that the virus won't come back since I had viruses come back from a reformat, but not from full hard drive erasure.
^Exactly my point. I find Combat Arms SOOO much easier than Counter-Strike, even if CS had bigger head hitboxes than Combat Arms. There are pros here and there but generally there are a lot of noobs and bunnyhoppers. Since jumping has no slowdown effect, they couple that with high movement gear and a shotgun. I could hardly do a thing because the game is laggy and unsmooth server-wise. Shots don't register all the time either. The majority of them are sprayers too. Ever since Nexon released the HK416, spraying became really popular since the HK had sooo little recoil all you had to do was scope in with an ACOG or reflex sight, pull down slightly, and spray away. All 4-5 shots needed to kill the oponent will hit. And the gun fires fast so you'd be dead in a second.
In CS, I find that a lot of people are quite fast and very accurate. The moment you turn a corner, you die. And they spray very accurately... with an AK-47.
That's Combat Arms. The NX weapons (weapons bought with real money) doesn't make much of a difference to me because the weapons are pretty much reskins of an existing weapon. Also, some of the NX weapon stats are a little better somehow than their non-paying counterparts but it's pretty negligible.
I quit playing because there used to be hackers all over the place (about 3 or more per room!). Now that Nexon took some action, there are less hacks but the whole community is still paranoid. Now thanks to the poorly implemented kick feature, the pros get kicked from the room because everyone else thinks they hack. So I don't bother playing any longer after coming back a second time.
Other games like Operation 7 are just knock-offs of Counter-Strike or something. Combat Arms was like a severly limited Call of Duty 4.
The only good free FPS in my opinion is Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A) but that's Japan/Korea only and there is no sign of it going international yet.
Doing that is downright dangerious and stupid. Sure, even if you know where you're going, other people won't see you. If you do that in racing, expect to get cutoff if you try to take the inside line of a turn because whoever you're racing will probably have no idea where you are. And you really do not want to have your headlights off when racing on a mountain pass. My friend video'ed himself racing down Glendora Mountain Road and all you see is pitch black just a few yards ahead because his car lights were the only lights. The only thing stopping a car from falling off the mountain was a bank of dirt only 5-8 inches high or a few loose rocks. There were hardly any guardrails.
Oh and apparently, Tazio Nuvolari used that same tactic when he raced Achille Varzi in 1930. He supposedly tailed Varzi with his headlights off at 93 mph and turned them on right when he overtook him. Just thinking about that makes my nuts shrink in fear.
These are Chrysler Conquests FYI. They are essentially rebadged Mistubishi Starions.
Unfortunately I don't have enough time to find images bigger than this but if you want to try your luck, you can search for Mitsubishi Starion, Chrysler Conquest, Dodge Conquest, Plymouth Conquest, and Mitsubishi Colt Starion because they are all essentially the same car with different badges.
I hated that worm to Hell. I found it on my dad's computer and it actually stopped firefox from working at all. Luckily I already had AVG installed in it so I scanned and what do you know, downadup was there (a form of conficker). I deleted the files it had but it was still there so I had to manually go through the registry, windows files, etc. just to get the crap off and it took forever.
