Quote from atledreier :It will be interesting to see how LFS' physics cope with the bumpyness of scanned tracks. I don't think it's a coincidence that the tirephysics are rewritten for the new track...

Let's hope the old track surfaces are rewritten for the new tyre physics

Quote from SilverArrows77 :Oh that sounds like a damn good idea, to be honest i still keep forgeting about Hosted Sessions and all the possibilties it opens - the Late Model would be a good bit of fun on the right road tracks, ill have to look into that! (on a side note, i did have a race in late models tonight that did redeem them quite a bit, was an incident free, trash talk free race that was damn good fun)

Quote from SilverArrows77 :Hoping so, it really is first time ive felt disappointed with a class, but then we all have our bad moments/weeks in it i guess. Its not too bad with incidents, and infact slight better than Legends (maybe because it doesnt snap around easily like the legends can, which newcomers seem to get caught out by often in legends) but more its the attitude and stupid trash talk ive seen from guys racing/practicing them that gets under my skin..or maybe im just becoming a grumpy old man lol (more than likely) - is a fun car to drive though i must admit!

hey Mr Arrows77.... one thought with the Late Model you might not have considered. There's a fantastic private league in the Hosted Sessions called ORO that does the Late Model on road tracks. Superb bunch of people too and the racing is excellent. Doesn't have to be just the oval stuff

Quote from Rudagar :Thanks I was wondering how I race against other people

if you do have any questions to get you started that you feel a bit humph about asking, post here or feel free to PM me Sure we can help get you there

Quote from anttt69 :Oh jeez, i was all looking forward to the new season & getting my A licence but in true iRacing fashion computer says NO!. Take my advice & dont race with the aussies/japs @ 3pm in the afternoon. I was mid pack coming off T1, saw an accident started to slow 'bang' some one thought they would keep going flat out despite a car spinning down the track out of control . Half the field got wrecked & this was a road race.

Sorry you had a bad race. I have to say from my experience I'd say the opposite. They're the nicest bunch I've raced with and generally the cleanest when compared to late night racing or weekend racing. Guess you just had a bad one with a bad egg racing too....

Quote from AlienT. :Yep the trucks are at Daytona. I might have a bash (probably literally) in them tonight as well.

I'm going to do the late models this season I think and a splattering of trucks on the super ovals

I know what you're saying SilverArrows. I think it's a great pity with the Mazda etc that we don't get a lot more of the default tracks. I'd like to do Lowes Road Course, Lime Rock, Summit, Laguna. All superb fun tracks. There should be a half way house, especially in the D and C class cars to accommodate people moving up. I know that for some people that are already in season 5+, a change is good fun but not at the cost of the default tracks.

Still, I do love the racing!

Quote from buck77 :does anybody have any Daytona Rolex 2.4 replay to share?

i cant find in the iRacing forums!!
or if you can direct me to the iRacing forums so i can find it there, that would be great as well!!

I got disconnected after lap 37 so only have the last 50 laps of my race. I was on server 8 or 10 I think... not the top split

Quote from count.bazley :Yeah it was one of the most fun races I've taken part in for sure. Not sure which of the other World Tour events I will race in; going back to learn the D-class cars properly and race through the licences a full season at a time.

I've done that for road and oval. Loved spending a season on a car in each license though I've stayed doing a skippy season each time I still need to do a spec racer season though.

Quote from AlienT. :Well I fell asleep and missed the Rolex race, love that combo as well

Andy did you race this? How did you get on.
.

yeah, Had fantastic fun. I went from 38th to 15th by lap 37 and then timed out

Like others, I was 2 laps down when I came back AND needed to pit for fuel 2 laps later so race was ruined for position. However, absolutely loved it! Was really the first time we got to see iRating put to the test and I think it really worked! We had 40 people on our server and all raced very clean and not that far apart!

Quote from count.bazley :Was in the 4th split. Started 4th, pitted from the lead on Lap 42 as I stayed out longest of the front-runners. Rejoined in 4th but clubbed the wall on pit exit. Damaged the steering and had the right-front corner dragging on the banking, lost about 5-10 mph of straightline speed. Dropped to 10th in the closing laps, had a great battle with a guy much faster than me but the left-front blew with 2 laps to go after he had just passed me. Crawled round to the pits and finished 19th. If I hadn't hit the pit-wall it looks like I would have finished 3rd or 4th, I barely had any incidents, even with the damage - one off-track and a half-spin in the bus stop and an off-track when I trailed round with the puncture. Brilliant race though, it was unbelievably clean and competitive.

was awesome! Not sure which split I was in but good have done well if I hadn't got a disconnection

Still with 950 people registered and raced, that is a record!

Quote from count.bazley :Any LFS-ers taking part in the Rolex 2.4 Hours of Daytona tomorrow besides myself, StableX and DaveWS? I would imagine there may be 200+ drivers entering the race with 40 cars per field, it could turn out to provide some great racing throughout all the grids.

Quite amazing that 520 have qualified so far. I wonder how many will start! Also wonder how many will be able to get under to incident points

Awesome time Dave! I did a 1.51! Going to try and start at the back

Update: 668 people qualified - holy crap!

Quote from MadCat360 :I also think 13th week would be a great opportunity to get the basic content guys (IE, me) wanting to pay for new content by allowing us to test out a new track/car combo. The 2.4 hours of Daytona would be a prime example of a DP test drive. Get us hooked on the car with some real competition, and we'll be more likely to buy it.

Sadly, that's their exact thought. This week they have given anyone, irrespective of license to be able to take part in the A licensed DP race at Daytona and week long practice. Alas, it's not a test drive and people have to buy the content. I do say though, it's bloody good fun!

Quote from MadCat360 :Just got my first win at Laguna in the Solstice. Took me 32 starts to get it... first pole too. 2nd was glued to my ass the whole race, and rear-ended me in the last corner, but I held it barely and won by half a second.

that sounds like a hectic race. Well done mate, especially on Laguna! Makes the win even more sweet!!!!

I think when choosing a headset you really have to take in to account the durability as much as sound quality. I've had many headsets and also tested loads for many companies.

My favourites for durability without a doubt are sennheisers! I am currently using the PC350's and they took about two weeks to bed in before getting the full bass. Boogle has also had his over a year now and super pleased with his too.

I've not found many others to have the build quality apart from the PC160's I have.

Quote from UncleBenny :Agree, I think it should be limited to hosted racing only, I could see it being useful for leagues where you can download the whole set of skins at once. I see no point for it in the normal series, I'm not going to go searching for people's skins to download, just in case I happen to race them.

yup... some areas of LFS are just more superior than others... LFS World and skins are two

Quote from mblixt :anyonne tryed the custom skin thing yet ?

I decided I wasn't going to bother. Seems a waste of time really, just like nkp and others. If nobody is going to be able to see it, what's the point!
