Oh I see. Most of them left foot brake now so if it is a problem for them they can pull a bit of brake to pop the wing back, but not so much that they activate the engine cut off.
Or they just man up and deal with it. It's F1, it's not supposed to be easy.
So I wonder if this means that once Rockingham is released and the tyre physics are reasonable enough that LFS will be more open to linking up with other tracks? Could we be deluged with a new track every year?
I hope that wouldn't mean the end of fantasy tracks though. If Kyoto GP or Aston GP was a real race track they wouldn't be very far behind the likes of Spa or Suzuka.
I thought the ekranoplan predated F1 ground effect? Isn't it a Russkie Cold War invention? It is an amazing sight though.
Car safety and track safety (catch fencing - what were they thinking?) is much better now and as skirts are still banned the effect should not be as pronounced or as sensitive, I would imagine.
Ban wings & allow ground effect - better racing as wings lose more downforce in turbulence.
2.4L V6 turbo charged (no restriction on pressure). Limited engines per season. Turbo vs reliability regs to produce 1000hp to 1200hp in race trim.
Fuel allowance for the season. With no restriction on turbos then even a diddy team can whack up the pressure and give it the beans for a couple of races. If they run out of fuel allowance before the end of the season then they may only run minimal turbocharging. Whatever goes in for a race is lost from allowance, so you don't save by retiring.
Increase minimum weight by at least 300kg to increase braking distances and general.
That should mix things up a bit. Theoretically, anyone should have a chance to win. Red Bull would still be quick, but give Kamui enough fuel to have 150hp extra for a race or two
Disagree. Apart from his Hollywood moment in Brazil he had a solid but unspectacular season of steady progress. 8th place was about right. I'm surprised that people are so blinded by hype.
It was very sad to hear it on the news on Radio 4 this morning. Then they played a montage of lines from Airplane and Police Squad and I found myself laughing like a drain in the car. Very talented comic - he was stuck in serious roles until he did Airplane and found his calling.
That's the great thing - there are so many possibilities. It's going to ebb and flow and we'll probably have three different points leaders at times during the race.
The plank runs very low to the floor so that might act like a keel, but I can't see water spray lifting both the car's weight and the downforce - we're talking about a couple of tonnes.
In wet conditions they would need to make the wet tyres a bit bigger to raise the ride height - they already are bigger than the drys, but we're only talking a couple of mm.
There's a saying in football: "Never take advice from someone who has to pay to get into the stadium". I think it translates quite well to internet "experts" from all sports - even those that have driven karts.
I think Webber would be well advised to accept that he will be 3rd into T1 and let Alonso and Vettel beat each other up at T3. One or both will end up wide there.
