I always like the in car sounds in the GTR series more than any other game. Not sure what it was but they just seemed more raw, they sounded more like what I heard from in-car cameras during actual races.
I was just pointing out that you don't just automatically lose a certain amount of SR, it drops because it is weighted differently. Essentially it ends up being the same thing, but people might not realize why you take a bigger hit in SR when you get incidents at higher license levels, its because the rules are different.
That's not exactly true. Your SR is calculated differently based on your license level, so when you move up a license, your SR gets recalculated for your new license. The higher you get the stricter it is, so you generally lose SR every time you get promoted.
On bigger TV's yes, but the smaller the TV the less its going to matter. At 32" I don't think you're going to see a huge difference, not enough to justify the price difference at least.
But yes, it depends a lot on setup too, there is no way his TV should look as bad as it does, we rip on him all the time about it and the fact that he needs to set it up properly. He claims there is no problem though haha.
I've got a Samsung 42"(720p) and it looks awesome. A friend of mine spent more than twice as much on his Sony Bravia 46"(1080p) and it doesn't look near as good as my TV, Samsung makes some really good sets in my opinion.
One thing I recommend to everyone getting a new TV, buy/download one of those HDTV picture tuning DVD's, you'd be surprised how much better the picture looks when you calibrate it correctly!
From the 2 you suggested I'd say go with the Samsung. Save yourself a little money because it will be very hard to tell the difference between 720 and 1080, especially on a smaller screen like that.
Just did a quick search on Amazon, why not this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsun ... /B001UE8LV0/ref=de_a_smtd
Same size but less expensive, I can't find anywhere that says its 720p on there, but I can't find that info for the other Samsung either.
Montoya is doing pretty good for Ganassi, just imagine how good he'd be running for one of the top teams. He'll get his oval win, maybe not this year but definitely by the end of next season.
I wish Busch would stop storming off after the races, I'm sure some of these interviews would be really entertaining. I guess he learned by now that he'll have less trouble later on if no one gets a chance to hear what he has to say after the race. I don't hate him at all, I just think he has some great quotes when he's pissed off.
I highly doubt they are kidnapping 2 million dogs a year out of people's home to kill for food. These dogs are probably raised just like other animals that are killed for food.
You comment is like saying human slavery is OK as long as they people are raised like that. Not so much really.
I'd think about picking up just the G27 wheel if I can, but my next piece of hardware is definitely going to be some CST pedals. The G25's are nice but CST is in another league. The G25 wheel I have now works fine for me, no need to upgrade any time soon.
At this point it almost just makes sense for me to renew for another year now(even though I still have like 10 months left) and use the credits when new stuff comes out.
Yup, the colors really are what screws up iRacing the most I think. Look at this video this guy has up with some kind of color adjustment done, looks 100% better than the normal graphics.
Well I think that is the problem, it is broken. They have to realize that eventually they are going to run out of people to try the free subscriptions. I guess maybe their plan is at that time they will have more features working and can bring old players back. I actually suggested that on a thread over on the iRacing forums, that maybe in 6 months or something I'd love to see iRacing give a discount to people who had let their subscription run out to come back and try it again and see if things are better. We'll see how it goes.
Definitely, people complain about a lot of other things from the service but I don't think there are many sim racers out there that wouldn't pay $50 to buy the game. And once people have it they will race with it more often. The fact that subscriptions end and people can't race any more is why there aren't enough racers in iRacing. Plenty of people try it out, but there isn't enough there to make everyone stick around with prices as high as they are.
That's why them adding more and more content annoys me. It seems like they're just trying to attract more new people all the time. They need to focus some energy on making current subscribers happy so they stick around, and it just doesn't seem like they are doing much from my point of view. And this is coming from someone who likes the service and plans to resubscribe without question.
I have a feeling at some point they're going to have to start rotating cars that race each season on the road side, there just aren't going to be enough drivers over there to fill series.
I'm also very disappointed by their priorities right now. I don't think its enough to stop me from subscribing but it's frustrating how they keep churning out new content but don't fix what they already have. In the past couple builds I really can't think of any huge changes. They did improve tire physics in a couple of oval cars I guess. But what the hell are they working on all the time? They don't get to use the excuse that only one guy is programming the game like LFS has.
I don't think they do unfortunately. If you can get one though, I recommend the Obutto 100%. I have one and it is very sturdy, and a good price for what you get. I actually have 3 monitors on mine and have had no problems with it, very well made.
Yeah I was just joking, I actually think they might end up with TOO MUCH content and not enough people to race it.
In the past couple of months I've been with iRacing I haven't really touched LFS at all. I've fired LFS maybe 2 or 3 times during this period, but every time I do, it feels so easy compared to iRacing. Has anyone else noticed this? I can just jump car to car, any track, and I just start turning laps in LFS with no problem. They may not be WR laps, but I'm not spinning out every corner like in iRacing if I jump to a car I am not used to. Maybe I just need to adapt to iRacing physics even more, but there's still something about LFS that just let's me feel what the car is doing. I feel like it may be the FFB but I'm not sure, just wondering if anyone else has fired LFS back up after not touching it for a while and felt the same thing. I feel so glued to the track in LFS. I suspect it could also be the tracks themselves, because LFS is so smooth, but even South City didn't give me much trouble. Tire phyrics maybe?
